The Hair: Extremely Rude!! I went to this restaurant with several friends and we ordered drinks and dinner. First there was a long black hair on my friends salad. We alerted the waiter and his said, "we do not have hair in our kitchen". We asked him to please replace the salad and he rudely complied. The "Virgin" Drink: One of my friends is allergic to alcohol and she ordered a virgin pinocolada. After she drank about half of the drink she began to turn extremely red and her throat started closing up. We asked for the waiter and he continued with his previously rude behavior so we asked for the manager. He said he was the manager. My friend pointed out that his name tag indicated he was a server and asked again for the manager. He refused to get the manager. The owner was standing not far from our table. I decided to go and speak to the owner and while walking over to him the waiter repeatedly tried to stop me saying, "Where are you going. What do you want?". The Owner: Ignoring him, I walked up to the owner and told him that our friend had been served alcohol when she ordered a virgin and explained that she is allergic and he replied, "Then why did she drink it?". I responded, "because she thought it was a virgin drink." He asked me again (and several times after that), "Why did she drink it?" I said, "Do you know what a virgin drink is?" He said he did but that he did not like the way I was talking to him. Meantime, my friends throat was swelling and her face was extremely red. The owner did not show the least bit of concern. He never once asked if she was OK. He never went over to the table to check on her. Photo Opp: They quickly served us the bill but did not charge us for the "virgin" drink. I posted my experience on Consumerist with a picture. Our waiter saw me taking a picture of the outside of the restaurant and ran out the door with a thumbs up to pose for the picture. This could have been a serious medical situation and fortunately after feeling sick and drinking lots of water my friend was eventually OK. This kind of behavior from any restaurant is unacceptable and is most atrocious coming from an owner. The food? It was OK. Nothing special. I have a feeling the waiter brought back the same salad plate that had the hair on it. Really nasty place. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I used to frequent El Toro Bravo frequently when I lived in Annapolis. I have never had a bad experience prior to this weekend. After the meal we had this past weekend though, I will never, ever, go back there again and if I could them a zero, I would. First off, we arrived for lunch around 1 oclock and were seated at a high top by the bar even though there the entire restaurant was empty. When we asked for a booth the waiter just said no and walked away. We should have left then as it was a sign of things to come, but we were hungry. They brought us some chips and salsa while we were deciding what to order, and we quickly finished the chips as they were hardly any in the basket. When we asked for more we were once again ignored. I ordered a combo meal and my wife ordered a appetizer portion of chicken quesadillas which came with two small quesadillas. When she ordered, the waiter asked her what kind of chicken she wanted, shredded or grilled. My wife answered grilled. She also ordered a margarita, which did not have a price on the menu. When ordering, she asked the waiter how much it cost and was told $6.00. My order did not come with everything that it was supposed to come with, it was missing the burrito, and when I asked the waiter he once again ignored us. When I flagged down the manager he claimed that the toquito that was on my plate was a burrito. After all of that, the worst was yet to come. When the check arrived, it seemed high. Looking at the bill, the quesadillas were priced much higher than what they were on the menu. Also the margurita was $9.20 as opposed to the $6 the waiter told us. After questioning the waiter, we found out why. Remember when the waiter asked my wife whether or not she wanted grilled or shredded chicken on her chicken quesadillas? It turned out that the was a $4.00+ up charge per quesadilla (there were 2 in the order) for grilled chicken. This was no where to be found on the menu and the waiter mentioned nothing about it. When we protested, the waiter called over the manager who told him that he had done the right thing and that we were in the wrong. Needless to say, we left disgusted and no tip was left for the $11.00+ they cheated us out of.

My girlfriend took me to El Toro Bravo for the first time last week and I must say that is what the most amazing meal I have ever eaten. Honestly. I ordered the combo platter that had 1 Tamale, 1 Enchilada (Chicken) and 1 Burrito (Chicken as well). I ordered another order of 3 Chicken Enchiladas for later on and I could not wait. All the food ordered was consumed on the spot. The sauce they use to cook the enchiladas is amazing. The cadillac maragarita was a real treat as well. We go to the Mexican Cafe usually once or twice a month and in our opinion, the margaritas at El Toro Bravo are better, although they do not taste as strong as Mexican Cafes. Bottom line: Go hungry, go often. Im going tomorrow actually.

It has been several years since my husband and I have gone to El Toro Bravo. It was a beautiful night so we sat outside. It was downhill from there. Our waiter would have preferred to be some place else. He bordered on rude. The margarita was weak, hardly any ice, and barely any salt on it. I have to say the food we had might be the worst Mexican food Ive ever eaten. My grande burrito had rice , zucchini and peppers. That was it! I truly question their reviews. Lots of 1 star reviews and then lots of 5 stars. I dont believe the 5 stars! El Toro Bravo has a great location- Im not sure why they have deteriorated so, but they have! Dont waste your money!

Terrible food. Service was okay, but the waiter was not concerned at all that my wife took one bite of her food and pushed it aside. He didnt even ask if anything was wrong with it. Tamales have clove or some similar spice that doesnt belong, bad taste. Chicken in the burrito was plain, boiled chicken. Literally no seasoning and no flavor. Whats worse, I can make a better seasoning blend then whats featured in their ground beef and Im a gringo! All around bad, lazy, uninspired food. A real disappointment, they should be ashamed.

El Toro was a go- to place for us. $5 margaritas during happy hour and their custom margs kept us coming back! The Texas fajitas are very good. Everything else comes out room temperature or just warm. Minimal creativity on the menu. Also- We believe the ownership doesnt treat loyal customers well. And they should start! We love Jose and Adolfo working the bar. The ownership should let those two run the bar and avoid getting involved. Since we were treated badly by ownership, we may never go back. Disappointed!
