My husband and I attended the Christmas Eve Buffet. The atmosphere was very romantic and you cant beat the views. It even snowed a little which made it perfect. The buffet consisted of an appetizer, entree and dessert bar. The appetizer bar had salads, soup, and raw seafood bar (oysters, shrimp, crab and lobster claws). The raw seafood bar had to be my favorite food portion of the meal. My husband and I are huge foodies and are very particular! The entree bar consisted of prime rib, crabcakes and porcetta. The prime rib was meh. The porcetta was good, but too much lemon marinade/seasoning. The crabcakes were very good. You could tell that they used lump crab meat. Desserts were okay, but nothing to write home about. The service overall was good. Just a minor complaint about an unfriendly rude hostess in a red necklace and dress. Luckily, there was a much nicer young lady wearing slacks that actually seated us. I worked in the service industry and Im a firm believer if you dont like people you shouldnt work in a restaurant. Our server, James was attentive and cleared our table frequently. All in all, a good trip. We would come back again for the Christmas Eve Buffet.

I went here for brunch over the weekend and absolutely loved the food, the atmosphere and our view. Me and an old time friend of mines from graduate school decided to meet up for brunch. We were headed to Miss Shirleys Cafe but when we got there it was a 40-50 minute wait. We googled Sunday brunch in Annapolis and Severn Inn popped up. So we decided what the heck lets go there plus we saw all the great reviews. Im so glad we decided to detour because we had a great time. The wait staff was beyond nice, the food was great, and our view of the water was nice. I had the vegetable crab soup which was amazing, waffles, grits, fresh fruit, spinach omelet, bacon and a few desserts. I loved the chocolate fondue setup that they had as I indulged in the chocolate marshmallows and strawberries. The carrot cake was also pretty tasty. My favorite was the soup as I indulged in two servings. Mimosas and Bloody Marys were also included. We have decided to make this spot our regular brunch spot! I definitely want to come here for dinner on a date night with my hubby to give it a try!!!!

The Severn Inn is too full of itself. It does have a fantastic view of the Naval Academy across the water, but that is all that can really recommend it. Our service was curt and forgetful. We were never offered bread. At one point, our waitress conspicuosly ignored our call for attention. It was so obvious, my wife and I laughed at the transparency of her deception. The crab bisque was excellent, but otherwise the preparations were bland, uninspiring and over-priced. I would think that $34 dollars would buy you more than just one medium-sized soft-shell crab. They have removed salt and pepper from the table under the pretense that the chefs unimaginative preparation will serve all tastes. Yet they served refrigerated tomatoes with not a hint of seasoning. After dinner, there was no cappucino or espresso. They really need to concentrate more on the diners experience and less on their laurels.

I used to love the Severn Inn, but my last few experiences there have been disappointing. We took visitors from out of town there tonight and the service was truly awful. Apparently Severn Inns management feels its a waste of money to bring in enough waiters to provide decent service. Our waiter appeared to be responsible for at least 12 other tables as well as being the bartender for the restaurant. When the waiter finally appeared to take our order (after multiple requests for service on our part), he didnt even apologize for keeping us waiting. The quality of the food has also gone down in recent years and a number of their best dishes have been taken off the menu. Yes, the view is wonderful, but I doubt well be back for a very, very long time.

Our favorite restaurant! Delicious, artistically prepared meals with a stunning waterfront view. A haven for vegetarians and vegans who eat for health. With a few days’ notice, Chef Nick will prepare meals based upon individual dietary preferences. We request oil free plant based meals and ask Nick to prepare whatever inspires him. He creates beautifully prepared, delicious fresh local vegetables with a gourmet flair for us. Make sure Chef Nick will be there the evening you plan to visit. Linda is a fabulous server. Enjoy!

Despite being very expensive, Severn Inns food was so delicious, its views were beautiful, and its wait staff was exceptional. I took my wife on a date there and it was a fantastic experience we wont forget. The only thing I thought was odd was that they felt the need to put "aijoli" on their menu instead of what it actually was - ketchup. This was a funny memory my wife and I shared. Even though we both would have gotten something else if we werent fooled by the fancy name for Heinz, those fries were outstanding.

Wonderful setting for a old friends to get together. However, we were so disappointed when we ordered a cheese plate that could have maybe satisfied a mouse. The portions are so minimal, it was almost funny, had we not actually been slightly hungry. The wine that was recommended was the opposite of what I had expected and the staff seemed frustrated that we wanted bread with our cheese. We left and went home to make our own food. Basically a beautiful place which is overpriced and cheap in their portions.

Horrible. Do not waste your money. The menu read wonderfully but nothing lived up to its description. Appetizer portions were small and greasy, fish tacos were made from scraps, chili shrimp were drenched in sauce and the falafel was bland mush. To top it off, the hostess was clearly bothered we didnt have a reservation- for Monday lunch. She obnoxiously tried to escort us to our table every 2 mins even though our entire party had not arrived and we were having a drink at the bar. Bottom line- dont go!

This is a solid restaurant with phenomenal views of the water and Naval Academy. Overall the food is reliably good and the service is always friendly and attentive. We usually go for lunch but have also been to their sunday brunch which was good and very extensive. Try the grilled Ceasar salad - soooo good. Also I love to choose a few cheeses from their pretty extensive cheese menu - and eat it with a nice glass of wine. I would definitely recommend this place.

The only nice thing about this place is the deck and the cold beer that comes in a bottle. The service was ordinary at best. Waiter poured water right into my bag without even knowing he was doing it. The food was not very good at all, esp for the big price tags. Then another waiter spilled salad dressing, allowing the container to drop on the ground and causing a shower of honey mustard. Wouldnt recommend it except for the view. BYOF..FOOD!

The location is of course, terrific. If you go there for lunch, dont order the lump crab salad. It was simply an iceberg lettuce wedge, and piles of avacado, egg and crab at different points on the plate, and everything was overwhelmed by enormous amounts of thousand island dressing. Totally unappetizing and disappointing. Their prices are a few dollars higher than other equivalent restaurants, which keeps many locals from frequenting.
