We drove all the way from Ashburn, VA just to experience Tony Contes new adventure and as always, he never disappoints! Instantly, the room "pops" with charm and warmth. The decor is wonderful and frankly, very precise. You can tell proper attention was paid here - nicely done! Love the pictures on the walls! The 5 of us enjoyed attentive, friendly table service from several of their employees - we never were without anything....more water, Parmesan cheese, an additional napkin - the entire team worked to keep us happy and refreshed. To start off, the non-traditional soda choices were a huge hit, especially the Root Beer, with both children. Two of us were thrilled with the presentation and crispness of the Local Autumn Green Salad - ample size, but over the top on taste! The lemon vinaigrette was perfect with a dusting of fresh Parmesan. Main course for the table consisted of 3 Margherita Pizzas and the two 9 year olds devoured theirs while asking for more of ours - so "yes", it was fantastic! The house-made crust was stellar coming immediately from their wonderful wood-stoked oven, which is a beautiful centerpiece to the open-air kitchen. The sauce was zesty, but not overpowering, while the fresh mozzarella was spot on accented by fresh basil. The extra olive oil is a nice touch! We all commented on how so many happy customers snapped pictures of their pizzas before jumping in! Dessert was also a solid score with both the Chocolate Chip Cookies (slightly salted, awesome!) and Soft-serve Vanilla Ice Cream with Cinnamon Apples and a Rosemary Crust being the Loved the food, loved the atmosphere and loved the people. Best "listen to this" part of the night: we were seated near the door as other guests waiting for their upcoming tables only to hear 3 times as departing guests commented to them "its so worth it" We all agreed, totally worth the drive from Ashburn - well be back! Tony - youve nailed it again!

OUTSTANDING! Finally a place to get a quality pizza. A welcome addition to the neighborhood with no local comparison. I ordered carry out but the dining service looked like a great atmosphere. The place was buzzing, but not loud. Heres what really impresses me - 1 - The menu is small (theyve chosen to make a few things and make them incredibly well) 2- I got home with my pizza and salad and there wasnt a single drop of grease in the box, the pizza was cooked perfectly! ( I had their ember roasted potatoes pizza with the recommended smoked bacon) Ive had pizza all over Italy and this is the closest Ive found here in the states that even compares. Top notch, I look forward to dining here again in the future. Oh and the salad was dressed to perfection.

Had high hopes for quality pizza close to home. But... Toppings were a soggy mess. Crust was rubbery and undercooked yet partly scorched. How could pizza this bad get so many good reviews? Were they having a bad day? Was the oven set on "incinerate"? Was the chef off that day? Service was polite and attentive. Not going back.

Exquisite perfection! Complex balanced flavors of appetizers. we tried the :scallops with spelt, white asparagus, crab & Meyer lemon soup Roasted beets. True understanding of flavors! Pizzas were amazing as well! Staff were knowledgeable, kind, and efficient. Chef Tony has hit it on the mark! You will not be disappointed.

Too expensive, poor service from our waitress, pizza undercooked and cold and basil was burned! Will not returned...going back to Coalfire! However, I will say the chocolate chip cookies were great. Maybe it was an off night for the restaurant?

I dont get it. Its overpriced and slimy. Good ingredients I suppose but bland and inconsistent. Very little selection that makes you end up paying $20 for nothing more than a personal pizza and water.

Great pizza and so unusual. I love the salads/appetizers, too. I hope they expand into the empty space next door! The only change I would suggest is to dim the lights a bit at night!

This is a pizza place owned by chef Tony Conte, ex-executive chef of The Oval Room. To think that someone can elevate pizza to another level, but he does. This place is a must visit!

Fantastic place! love the wood fired pizza, great service. It does take a little while to get your pizza sometimes because of the way they make them, but well worth the wait!

Best pizza ive had in the area. Great crust with a chewy crunch to it and a slight char. Perfect CSR (cheese to sauce ratio) as well. Dessert was fabulous, too!
