My friends and I used to come to High Spot fairly often. However, the past three times that we went the food and service were awful. We loved the brie, the General Tso cauliflower, and the buffalo oysters, but, over the past three times we ordered those dishes, the outside of all the food was cooked and the inside was still cold. After waiting a while for our main course, that food was cold as well and it was not until we asked for our check that we received a $7, small dish of macaroni and cheese that we had ordered along with all of our other food at the beginning. Along with that, the server who was in charge of our table and the blonde woman who works as a bartender were rude and every time we have ordered drinks from there it always seems like we are inconveniencing her by doing so. I am sorry we have helped you to make money. Please note, every time we went was during slow hours. I understand that restaurants become busy and that food might take more time to come out, but that does not mean it should be terribly cooked and that the service should be so terrible. We will not be coming back to High Spot.

I stopped here to have lunch while passing through the area. Their drink selection was unique and would have loved to have tried something if I didnt need to drive after. However, the root beer I ordered was really great. I got a small plate with truffle oil fries which were both flavorful and well made. The waiter went out of his way to set me up with a smaller portion of fries than their appetizer size. The environment and setting was modern and cozy, though I would imagine it could get tough to find a seat at certain times of day with more people. I didnt have trouble finding any parking. My only complaint would be that more than one table had loud children. Perhaps the later evening crowds would differ.

At least three things surface quickly during our lunch: friendly and competent staff, very interesting menu, nice beer selection. Others in our group had wine, and the house white was a good choice. All important for a nice dining experience; though we did lunch, will do dinner also. There is a sincerity in the restaurant’s style (meaning: we like our job); better than what one might experience in the formula places found in Easton, Oxford or St Michaels. There is a nice rotation of specials on the blackboard. We learned following our visit that this same team owns the bakery across the street, and two other close by restaurants. We will definitely visit all, based on the visit to High Spot.

We ate there on 4th of July and the food was really bad. I got the Amberjack fish of the day , which was way too salty, served on a tiny bed of salty arugula with 5 skinny, salty asparagus spears. It was $24 and I felt sick the rest of the evening. My friend had the steak diane served on mashed potatoes with no other vegetables. It was also way too salty. Unhealthy! We split the grilled Caesar salad which we used to love but even it was bad, limp in some spots and not grilled in others....not enough dressing to cover the romaine :( oh, and my friend ordered a glass of wine and commented that it was a "weak" pour. Shewas going to say something but didnt know how to without sounding petty

We stopped by here not knowing what to expect based on the ratings. So glad we did. Great service. Sat outside with our dog...they brought him water. We ordered deviled eggs and baked brie for apps. They were delicious! My 8, 14 & 17 yo kids loved them. Had the almond crusted goat cheese salad with scallops - the catch of the day - spicy but delicious. Scallops over risotto delicious. My sons salmon blt was delicious. Chicken Caesar salad, delicious. My other son had the mac and cheese with smoked gouda...sinfully good. Highly recommend and will definitely come back the next time we come through.

I like this place. Intimate small interior seating with some cozy exterior seating in the front as well. We sat outside to see the scenery. Filet Mignon, potato cake and kale was good but I wanted more. Lol. Its a rather small meal for $21. The cobbler for dessert was good, the ice cream was fresh. I wish it came with more crust though. The waitress was cool and friendly. I would return. The menu could use a few more items though, the selection is relatively small. I may try a burger

Went with a group of teachers and I had the burger, and i had heard they had good burgers, well this day i must have got a new cook or the last of the meat for burgers, by no means was this a $10.00 burger and i would and have paid more before. This burger was small and not cooked to my likeness, it just did not live up to what i had heard. I will try again, maybe it was a bad day. Other than that the service and all was good.

The mac and cheese is amazing. I never have had a bad meal from here, though I do wish the eggs Benedict had more hollandaise (they will not give you extra either, even if you offer to pay for it). I also recommend the buffalo oysters!! The service is usually pretty good, though sometimes when it gets busy it can drop off (which is to be expected to some extent). It is clean and relaxed and a great place for Sunday brunch.

Oh my goodness...a dining room with NO TV so you can actually TALK to your family. Imagine! :-) A separate dining room and restaurant/bar. Outdoor seating. Fantastic, white-tablecloth-caliber entrees, sans white tablecloth. Yummy soups. Fantastic beers on tap. Down-to-earth, caring servers. Hearty kids menu, with drink and dessert included. Clean and well decorated restrooms. Thumbs up, Cambridge.

You know, Im really surprised how mediocre this place was after reading some reviews online. Gave it an average rating since thats what the experience was. Food was just OK, burnt pork belly was like leather to chew, burger was overwhelmingly rich and dripping grease (or some sort of fat). Id go there for a beer or maybe an appetizer but that would be it as far as I am concerned.

The duck fat burger was delicious and cooked perfectly. The steak tip sandwich was delicious and the service was very good even though the food took a while to get to us. The fries were only lukewarm and overly burnt. Also, the kids menu was much higher priced than expected. I would eat there again but avoid the fries and leave the kids at home if possible.

The food here is great, the service not so much. It takes forever to get your food and the servers arent as attentive as they could be... Logic matters, if the kitchen is running sooooo behind, the servers and/or manager should take the initiative to check on people and ensure good service. However, the environment is great and not doubts about the food.
