Key Typer
Cheeseburger in Mediocre-land. So hubby had a craving for wings and I was sick of cooking, so we decided to check this place out. We had been here once years ago and werent impressed, so we decided to try once more to see if anything had changed. First, let me start with the GOOD things about this place. The server was VERY good. He even brought refills w/o us asking and was prompt and courteous throughout the time we were there. He was great and really, one of the only reasons this place got as many stars as it did from me. We ordered a variety of things to try; not just a burger. Some of the best chicken tenders we have ever had (9 yo kid considers himself a connoisseur, lol) but really, they were very well executed. It would really surprise me if they were frozen, because they did not taste like it. Juicy throughout and the batter was light and super crisp with a light paprika flavor. We ordered a variety of things to try; not just a burger. The fries were good too. We really liked the light seasoning they used on them. The meat of the burger was perfectly cooked, (well done). The mozerella sticks were good too, although the sauce with it could have been more tangy, to offset the cheese. Also, there is really no need to top cheese with MORE cheese, unless its atop a pizza. Skip the parm shreds on top and just put a stem of fresh basil on the platter with the moz sticks. I and many people I know who like mozz sticks like to chew on a basil leaf while eating them as it really adds to the flavor of both the cheese and the sauce. Now the bad, and there was a lot. I ordered a salad that was supposed to be a tropical chicken thing, but was more like someone just cleaned out a fruit bowl, added pineapple and called it good. Please, people, apples dont grow in the Caribbean, so stop adding them to TROPICAL dishes. Plus, they taste like crud with pineapple. Save the apples for pie and applesauce. Also, almonds have no place in a tropical salad either. They grow in the Mediterranean and taste like crud with coconut. So, you can see my point here. The "citrus vinagrette" had no body and no sour in it, so that was a total miss. On the plus side, the greens of the salad were fresh and tasted good, but seeing as how I was paying for a Caribbean salad, it seemed like a waste. Now for the big flop: This is anathema for a burger joint. The wings were not up to snuff, at all. Hardly any sauce and a bit overdone, really disappointing for the hubster. I mean we could have gotten a better "wing on" from a delivery pizza joint because AT LEAST they would have actually sauced them well. I know there are different takes on hot sauce, but heres a clue guys: FRANKS, and LOTS of it. Even the waiter knew they were a let down. Lastly, I know things get slow sometimes and some people need down time, but I saw a lot of idle hands and a lot of cleaning that could be done. If you have electronics in a large space where food and people are gonna be sitting under it you GOTTA dust that crap off more than once a year. There was almost a 1/2 inch of dust on some of the cables I saw just looking straight up from my seat. I know a deep clean schedule isnt easy to execute in a place this big, but that was really kinda icky. I kept thinking that if somebody touched that TV over us, my salad was gonna have some "special" toppings on it. ugh. On the plus side, the bathrooms, even the Mens (!) was well kept and clean. Super big plus points for that. I hate sending my kid into a filthy bathroom, and trust me he DOES notice and he reports to me so I can sanitize him if necessary. Overall, a pretty standard family eatery, but with some minor tweaks, it could be really good.

I have been to cheeseburger in paradise several times before tonight. Although, tonight was the worst I have ever had it at any restaurant. We were seated and it took our waiter about 7-10 minutes to come take our drinks and then another 5-7 minutes to get the drinks. We then ordered our food. Through the time that we were waiting for our food to come out we asked for several items such as drinks that we needed, we recived none. While again we are still waiting for our food the waitress continues to mess up and forget other tables food. After about an hour of waiting for our food the waitress decided to go check for it in the back we were then told that it would be out shortly. Needless to say that at this time the restaurant was not busy and there were plenty of open tables. For the inconvenience she decided to give us some frickles. Although no one likes pickles. Then 20 minutes later we received our food. Sadly with every meal there was something wrong. We then asked for different dressing and drinks that we originally asked for but never received any until we asked another waitress. After we finished our meal I talked to the manager and we received one meal out of three free of charge. Once we gave the waitress our credit card she walked in the back for about 5 minutes and then coming out claiming that she already gave us our credit card back. She then proceeded in the back then after 10+ minutes we received our card with a rinkled up receipt that had been dug out of the trash. Needless to say that this waitress was not in her right mind or any mind. I dont enjoy being mean and wringing the complaint but I am a very easy going person. Even if the service was as half as bad as it was I would have walked out of there without talking to the manager and without writing my feedback here.

Takeout order at 6 pm on a Friday. Busy time, yes, but still shouldnt take 30 minutes past the time they said it would be ready. Then they failed to include one of the items in the order. When it was brought to their attention, the woman working take out immediately decided to argue and question our integrity. She never bothered to look in the bag herself just insisted that she checked it. When we cross checked it against the receipt, we showed her that a salad and a bowl of fruit were missing. She went to the back and did not come back out for 10 minutes. When she got back the manager came out with her to go through the bag to verify that an item was missing. Seriously?!! I never left the restaurant, where would I possibly have put the missing item? If they dont trust me, I dont trust them. Needless to say the food was cold, the fries were soggy, and the items were generally made carelessly. Burger toppings were scant. Total miss! Dont waste your time or money.

Will never go to Cheeseburger in Paradise ever again after today. We had a 30 minute wait. Things kept getting messed up and then my food never came. I ordered an appetizer because I didnt feel like real food. So I politely asked the waitress to take my food off the ticket, and as she looked at me quizzically, I gestured I never received my food. She apologized by saying she has a big table outside. Okay and you couldnt ask someone else to cover your tables. She offered my food free to go, I said sure. Next thing I know its being brought to the table and she disappeared again. 20 mins later had to flag her down to get our checks and to go boxes. Of course I didnt eat my food because I had already ate half my kids grilled cheese she refused to eat. She didnt get much of a tip. Were good tippers, believe in paying for good service. Both my parents taught me that.
