Treated us like crap. Were ordinary people. Well mannered, werent outspoken or anything. I ordered alligator with mushrooms... wasnt alligator at all. $19. Girlfriend ordered wontons... we literally were served fried eggroll wraps no stuffing at all. Basically, like an asian tortilla chip. $7+ for trash. Ordered butterfly shrimp... served a few ordinary breaded fried shrimp. Imagine how the outside of honey chicken looks without the sauce. I wish I saved the pictures. I held my tongue when I shouldnt have. Tipped the waiter when I shouldnt have. Worse experience in a long time. Only thing that was right was the shrimp fried rice. Wasnt anything special though. The food is like someone else said ordinary chinese food. Takeout variety. You can eat somewhere cheaper for the price versus the quality. (I recommend China Kitchen. Best rice in mandeville) The place is, as others say, beautiful even though the way we were served wasnt. Sadly, I dont even know what we did. Beware!

Trey Yuen is the best Chinese cuisine in the metro area. Although it is only a block from the Causeway, Trey Yuen makes you feel if youre miles from anywhere. The exterior has several koi ponds, statues and stone bridges. Inside the decor is very upscale. Carved wood, large windows and fancy tables all add to Tye atmosphere. The food is excellent. While many of the items have the same name as those in a run of the mill Chinese restaurant, here they are much improved. On my most recent trip I started with pot stickers and hot and sour soup. The soup was very flavorful and packed with stuff. The pot stickers are among the best Ive had. For an entree I had the hot pepper chicken (may not be the actual name). While I would have liked it spicier, it was very good. Because this is a high end Chinese restaurant, expect to pay more than youre used to at the local buffet. The food is well worth it. If you like Chinese food, you need to try Trey Yuen. It is worth the drive.

We have actually eaten here rather frequently since moving to Mandeville. Trey yuen has been our go-to Asian food restaurant. Not anymore. Weve had about equal on sub-par and excellent experiences here. You might get an awesome server, or you might get someone who takes 10 minutes just to get your drink and, since youve had ample time to look over the menu, food order. Your server might also never bring you your drinks, bring the soup that was ordered, and then proceed to take orders at 3 other tables and manage to bring out their drinks and appetizers while youre sitting there with cold soup because youre too thirsty and angry to eat it. The foods usually very good, though. If you decide to go and manage to get your food before you walk out, the shrimp and crawfish in a cloud and the curry are both delicious.

From the decor & atmosphere to the food & the service, Trey Yuen in Mandeville is clearly one of the best restaurants of its kind in the country. Ive never had better, personally. All foods are cooked to order--even the appetizers & soups. LOTS of food for the price! Service is fast, friendly & efficient. Museum-quality antique kimonos (& more) decorate the walls inside. Outside is a garden with a pond & fountain, worthy of fine photography. The entire experience is well worth the trip!

Disgusting is all that I have to say. Went for Mothers Day. They were busy of course and very unprepared. As people would leave their table as they would finish their lunch, the owner was going to the dirty table and taking the white rice to bring to the kitchen to serve to the next table. It was so obvious. Also when our meal came - there was a hair in it. That was a turn off and we will never go back.

I came to this restaurant expecting an authentic Chinese experience, but the experience was mostly Creole, except for the decor! The food is americanized Chinese served buy blonde hair blue - eyed waiters setting pretty plates without chop sticks! if you are looking for real Chinese food move on, maybe to Houston, or Dallas. If you like the americanized sweet and sour pork/chicken this is the place!

This is the best Chinese restaurant in the New Orleans area. Absolutely worth crossing that big dumb bridge to eat here. Besides the food being excellent, the place is visually stunning. From the Koi ponds outside to the tapestries inside, this place shines with the pride of the owners and all the employees that work there. Service was excellent.

The service was good . The food tasted ok but I noticed every bodys food at my table was luke warm or room temperature none were hot and for the length of time we waited I expected my food to be hot . The price was way way too much for the quality . It was nothing to rave about .It was chinese food that I could get any where .

The food and service were decent, not great. The atmosphere was visually appealing but smelled of old mold. The acoustics made it a bit louder than nectand could have benefited from some sort of light background music to drone out other patrons. Over all an ok place just needs some freshening up inside

Food was disapointing at best. everything was beyond bland, best thing on table was the rice and the spicy mustard. have eaten here before several times but at least a year between each time . flavor has steadaly declined now its like buffet food in a retirement home. save your money and get take out.

Authentic Chinese. They are proud of their culture and try to represent it well. It shows in the food. Great overall experience from the architecture and ambiance to the marble fish garden where you can relax and feed the fish after a meal. Met the owner and hes a really cool guy.

My favorite Chinese restaurant in South Louisiana. The drinks will hit you so be careful. I have never had anything here that want fresh and perfectly prepared. Steak Kew and 4 happiness are my favorites. All the soups are wonderful and the sauces make the meal.

Awesome food. If you want a nice place to take a date, or a fancier dinner location then this is the place. The prices are higher, but to be expected for the atmosphere and quality. I recommend the tong-cho chicken, with a fog cutter while you wait and talk.

I love the Honey Pecan Shrimp. Cant make myself order anything else. We eat there several times a month and my entire family has found something special on the menu. Best Chinese food in Mandeville or the Northshore area in my opinion

Fantastic Chinese food in a beautiful atmosphere. I have been to Trey Yuen many times and have never been disappointed in the food, service, or restaurant. (Hint: the lamb is fantastic!)

Its the best Chinese Restaurant that I have ever eaten at and I have been around the world and eaten at quite alot of Chinese Restaurants. The Wong brothers even cook for the President.

Food is well below average. Very over cooked and tasteless. There are much better Chinese Restaurants on the Northshore. The grounds used to be very nice but they were very unkept.

Food was ok - beef with Chinese vegetables tasted overly buttery / oily. Not to impressed. Cob webs in the bathroom made me question how clean the kitchen is.
