The dinner was great, it was the end of the evening that was peculiar. When I asked for my check, my waitress informed me my check had been taken care of by a mysterious guest from acrossed the restaurant. Im not from here, so I couldnt imagine that it was actually someone I knew. The man wanted to remain anonymous, but he did give my waitress a gift to deliver to me. It was a VHS copy of "The Bad News Bears". It was the 1976 version starting the late great Walter Matthou, not the 2005 remake. I was frozen with panic, as anyone that knows me is aware of my crippling fear of bears in all forms, especially the bad news sort. Someone was out to get me. When I got home I sat at the kitchen table, staring at this movie. After about 3 hours of total stillness Something compelled me to watch it. Even though everything inside me was screaming, "no!", I popped the tape in my VCR. It quickly became apparent that someone had taped over the movie with their own footage. It was home videos of bears in the wild, while a man read sad and scary news headlines from various newspapers. It was literally "Bad News Bears". My bear phobia was replaced with confusion, then laughter. This was the silliest thing I had ever seen. All of a sudden something clicked in my brain. I no longer had an irrational fear of bears! What an elaborate ruse! Bluefin cured me of my phobia, and they want to cure you too! Hopefully you dont have a fear of spicy tuna rolls, because they are the bees knees.

Horrific experience! After an amazing dinner at another downtown restaurant we stopped by for an after dinner drink. Coming in my girlfriend and i waited 20min while bartender (older lady, with short died grey/white hair) explained happy hour in detail to another customer. Once done we chose the same drink that the other customer got, sounded good and it was on happy hour. The other couple went to pay and bill was double what the bartender quoted. Bartender now stated to them the drink wasnt on happy hour. Rather than admit it being her error and asking manager to correct she told the couple that they should "pay your bill and take your business elsewhere". Disgusted by her customer service we got our bill which was also double. The bartender tells us and the other couple shes new and regardless we both need to pay and move on. The other couple calls the manager over and bartender of course doesnt allow them to talk. The managers customer service was very disappointing. She admits the bartender was wrong but tells us both that theres nothing that will be done and that they didnteven have happy hour today. Ive never been more furious paying a bill, while the bartender continues stating "these people just want free stuff". My first experience in Memphis and on my last day, my lasting impression. I travel regularly alone and with groups and will never recommend this restaurant. I will be sure to take their advice......and take my business elsewhere.

DO NOT EAT HERE! Recently moved from Los Angeles to Memphis and began working here as a server. The management here does not pay their servers all of their tips, saying you only get 60% when you start and then work your way up to receive 100% of your money! The owner, Mr. WOO and his girlfriend HELEN takes a cut of the tips. Helen is not a server, - not sure why she needs to receive any tips at all. The restaurant is always empty, due to its bad reputation Downtown. They will not honor your coupons if youve recently purchased them. You will see a new staff every week because everyone quits once they see how they are mistreated. I worked my first day after training on Friday Sept. 23 in the morning and evening shift and though my total tips that I EARNED that day were $125, I only received $55! 1 other server only got $12 of her tips! If you are a lawyer reading this, please respond so that I can sue this company for lost wages. I would recommend eating at ALDOs or Magestic next door.

As previously stated, giving one star because its not possible to give zero. Made a reservation and was excited to try bluefin for our first time due to all the good reviews, but was severely disappointed. Drinks and appetizer came in a timely manner, but took over an hour from the time we ordered until the time that we finally gave up hope that it was coming and went to confirm that our food was coming and found out or order was never put into the system. Apparently new management may be the root cause of many issues, as two other tables near us were extremely disappointed with their service as well. Seemed that waiters were poorly trained and there were not enough staff for Valentines Weekend. Food was good, but it took way to long to get to us and overall customer service was very poor. Management ended up paying for our drinks and waiving the mandatory gratuity, but theyve got some work to do.

Dined at the Bluefin on Saturday night with a large party celebrating a family achievement and was disappointed with the restaurant. Took awhile for our group to get our drink orders and then the wait for the food was absurd. That was not the fault of our waiter who checked on our table often. If a person ordered something other than sushi the wait was endless. I finally just cancelled my order of hibachi. A couple of the final bills were mixed up and this took extremely long to be settled. Shocked to see the added gratuity and not sure it was on the menu I know this is the policy of most establishments. The only explanation I got for bill being messed up is they had a new system. Hopefully the next large big party will not have the same treatment. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!

DONT RISK YOUR LIFE EATING AT THIS DUMP! The entire staff are neglectful. The Asian waitress brought my food it had a metal foreign object in it!!! I was about to eat it, when I noticed the shiny piece (that looked like silver tooth covering) in my food. I brought it to the waitress attention, she hurry up and took it away. Then she came back saying, it wasnt metal, it was plastic from the veggies on my plate! I wasnt about to argue with her about that at all, because we knew it was metal! I made a video and took photos as well. This place is a dump! They didnt care about the foreign object in my food, they gladly took my payment after all that. I will NEVER, EVER go back again!!! DONT RISK YOUR LIFE EATING HERE! ITS NOT WORTH IT...

Earlier this week I went to Bluefin for lunch with my mom for her birthday and we had a phenomenal experience. Our server Dylan was very prompt and courteous, and his recommendation of the house "Bluefin Roll" was delicious! Next time we want to try hibachi. The restaurant itself was beautiful on the inside, we hadnt expected it to be so big! The patio would be nice to use next time. There were several floors so we still felt like our table was private enough to celebrate without disturbance. It had a very modern feel and several bars on the different floors so Im sure its a happening place to be at night too. Everything was very clean, even the bathrooms. I have nothing bad to say about my new favorite restaurant :)
