My experience tonight 25 July 2016 was good for my dish the Mahi Mahi absolutely delicious and my auntie said her shrimp and tasso pasta was also really good. However, my moms burger their signature burger was horrible! The description does not match what is on their menu for the burger and let me tell you when it came out it was extremely disappointing do not get it. It was a sad looking meal which according to my mom it was tasteless. The burger apparently does not have grilled onions but instead has a minute amount if them in the sauce with is undetectable without the manager letting us know even he said that the waiter who never checked on us should had informed her what was on the burger or how it comes out. My food was great I really enjoyed it and minus the poor service I would give 5 stars but considering the cost of the meal and the simple fact that it is hard to screw up a hamburger I give this place a solid 2 stars. Manager did get more of the "sauce" with onion to make it better.

Anniversary dinner. Everything was perfect. The restaurant is beautiful, upscale, but not stuffy. I had the filet mignon and fries. My husband had the Duck Louisiane and the beet with goat cheese salad. Everything was delish and perfectly prepared. The mini garlic bread that they give you in the beginning was sooo good, Im sooo copying that. Our server was prompt and attentive, but not overbearing. The manager, Jarrod stopped by to check on us, too. They were both very cute, too :-). We are definitely going back. I saw they have a nice happy hour from 5-7, with drinks AND appetizer specials.

Top notch food, ambience and location. Maybe the best restaurant in town. Expect good service, wine and steak. $$$ Recommended Second visit: Definitely not the best food in town, maybe the fanciest restaurant. Location, service and a not bad at all food made this the top choice for those ones requesting an "upscale" (sort of) experience. I tried the gumbo, it wasnt bad neither the best one I have tried. The service is very good and prompt, they lack of beer on tap(only bottles) but a good variety of liquor. The menu is diverse with some vegetarian options.

So many great things to say about this restaurant, but I will start with the BREAD PUDDING! GET IT! Bread pudding is a popular desert in Louisiana, but this one is hands down the best I have ever had anywhere. I am a vegetarian, and I highly enjoyed the beet salad and vegetarian gnocci. The rest of my party loved their food too. They give you garlic bread to start with and it is out of this world decadent. I loved the drinks, service, and atmosphere! I think I have found a new Baton Rouge favorite.

The soup was great. For the main course, I had the Redfish. The fish was lukewarm; the rice under was hot. I should of stopped there, bud I didnt, I gave the bread pudding a go. When I took the first bite, it LITERALLY burned my lips and tongue off. When I asked how the bread pudding was served, thats when I was informed that Stroubes preheats its bread pudding in the microwave. If Im expected to pay for a high end dinner, I expect an excellent authentic meal in return... BTW: The waiter was great!

My family and I went after my college graduation.. that was my first time going.. and the food was fantastic... I had the 12 oz ribeye ordered medium-well.. and the pave potatoes which was very interesting.. a long rectangle shape of layered scalloped typed potatoes with a white sauce.. very tasty.. and my brother had the chicken breast with sweet potatoes.. which he literally scraped the plate clean.. overall all it was a good experience.. would visit again.. on special occasion.

Have lived in Baton Rouge for 7 years and never tried Stroubes. Came here for a birthday dinner...and was very disappointed. Steaks were cold, and not tender. Tasted like something I could have bought at the grocery store and cooked myself. For all the hype, I expected much better. Sides were decent, and appetizers were decent. Drinks not good - bartender needs some training! Probably wont come back. Plenty of other, better steakhouses in BR.

This has now become my favorite restaurant in BR!!! Great atmosphere, friendly service, and incredible food! My grilled Mahi Mahi with roasted corn grits all topped with a lump crab meat and white wine sauce has now been added to the list of the best meals Ive ever had! Incredible!!!

Nice, quasi-upscale restaurant in downtown Baton Rouge provides a pleasant atmosphere and good location to conduct lunchtime business. The Stroubes Original (egg salad sandwich) was tasty but messy and rather monochromatic on the plate. Garlic bread was delicious. Would return.

Food was outstanding service was excellent. A perfect place to take someone out on a date or a client for business. The food was a little pricey but what do you expect from a five star restaurant. Will be back again many times thank you for the excellent service and good food.

GREAT PLACE This was my first time there. It was a just because outing with a friend. I loved the location (view of downtown), the dining area, and the beautiful jazz music playing. The service was wonderful and the food was excellent. I would definitely go again!!!

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff although the waiter talked my ear off while I was trying to eat. I enjoyed the food so I went a second time only to leave frustrates because of a long wait and confused goofey waitress that did not know what an Amber beer was.

Ate at the bar. Hard working, energetic bartenders with excellent food! I had the Stroubes salad, garlic bread, Filet Oscar, Creme Brule with strawberries. Everything was fresh, cooked to perfection and tasted great. I commend the bartenders and kitchen!

I got the mahi mahi dish and Im not normally a baked fish fan but I could not stop eating it. The crawfish beignets are a must get! The beef tips are delicious as well as the salmon. Beautiful restaurant and great location.

Web site is a joke. Very elegant blank age with a telephone number that no one answers. No information, hours of operation or anything just a lousy phone number that rings interminably.

Went here for a rehearsal dinner. Great food and drinks! Regional favorites in an upscale setting with trendy cocktails. I had the Old Fashioned and my husband got the Moscow Mule.
