Ate here last night for my 24th birthday with my boyfriend, probably will not be going back due to the service. Hostess seated us and someone came to get our drink order immediately, we said we needed more time. 5ish minutes later another waitress approached us and asked if we were ready to order drinks, we asked if we could order appetizers with her, she said yes and we did. 3 minutes later the first waitress comes back and asks if were ready to order drinks, I tell her the other girl had just come to ask us so she might want to reconvene with her and get the situation straightened out. I have worked in many restaurants so I understand how sectioning works, so when no one came back to our table to ask for our order even after the appetizers were delivered I knew something was up. My boyfriend got the attention of the first girl who had approached our table and asked if we could order, the waitress gave us a snappy response of Im not taking care of you guys so I asked her who was... She said she didnt know and left without apology to talk to the other waitress. The second one who had approached us was apparently our actual waitress and she came back to take our order and did apologize for what had happened, at which point I brought up the attitude I had recieved from the other girl and the fact that it was my birthday. She apologized and left to put in our order, but came back about 4 minutes later to ask what kind of dessert I like, listing off the choices, and I picked the creme brûlée. I suppose it was wrong of me to assume that the dessert would be free of charge due to the events that had already transpired and the fact that it was my birthday and that the waitress was literally offering it in the middle of the meal before our entrees had even come. I would never, ever, have ordered that dessert with my meal if I had known it wasnt a peace offering. But there it was on the bill. By that point my boyfriend and I were too annoyed to bring it up and really just wanted to leave and not come back. The only employee who seemed to know what he was doing/how a restaurant should work was the bartender, applause to him & how I saw him motivating the other employees to get their s*@!t together. I dont like spending $60+ on a meal where I sit with an empty water glass for over 15 minutes and have to flag someone down to get it refilled. TLDR; dont offer your customers dessert in the middle of a meal on their birthday after they were treated badly by your coworker and more or less trick them into thinking its complimentary then include it on the bill. You will not get a good tip. Reel - you have great food, but your bad service is Going to ruin your business.

First off, the food was delicious. We had the fried lobster tail, tuna tartare, and calamari for appetizers, all of which were great. I had the flounder which was cooked perfectly with a fairly nice presentation for a non fine dining restaurant. Unfortunately, we could not overlook the service experience and hence the 2 star review. We went to Reel for Mothers Day and I made a reservation for 6 people at 7pm. We did not get seated until 7:15 which was not the end of the world for us though there were several parties that left due to ridiculous waits despite reservations. It did not take long before our waiter came to us and poured us water. We placed our entire dinner order around 7:30 and things just fell apart afterwards. It took about 10-15 minutes before my kids got their free drinks. The appetizers took about 20 minutes to come out which while long, not ridiculous. However, around 8:30, a woman who I presumed was related to the owner came out and told my dad that the trout he had ordered was no longer available. No apology at all, just asking if he wanted an alternate fish. 10 minutes later, everyone had their food but again, this was 1 hour and 10 minutes after we had placed the order. I dont blame the cooks, because they were working as fast as they possibly could. I just dont think they have enough cooking space for the size restaurant. What I do fault is failure of the waiter and the presumed managerial staff to acknowledge the inconvenience and the long wait I will not be back. While the food was good, the customer service was completely absent during our visit. If youre going to have us wait over an hour for our entrees, at least offer an apology and some kind of comp. We got nothing at all to indicate that we were valued patrons.

Never actually ate there. Apparently if you want a real answer you need to talk to the manager and not the person who answers the phone or the hostess. Called around 5 and talked to a gentleman. Asked if they had a patio and if pets were ok. He said yes, no problem. I said great and got transferred to the hostess. Told her I would like to make a reservation on the patio to bring my pets and she just asked what time and how many. Show up and say I have a reservation for 2 on the patio and my husband is outside with the dogs. Hostess goes to get the manager who then tells me no pets. I say I called and asked and get a very rude response of "Yes, but you only said you wanted to sit on the patio." I have no issues with places that dont accept pets but we were specifically looking for one that we could and had called and had 2 people say it was ok. Very frustrated to get all the way there and find out we were lied to.

Food OK, Service not so It seems to be the owner/manager that is setting the tone at this establishment. My party, noted multiple times the owner/manager being nasty to both customers and then to the bar staff. When I first walked in and asked very politely "What kind of a wait is there tonight, just a ball park idea?" I was greeted with the owner/manager gesturing with her hands to slow down or chill out? Really? I just was looking for a rough idea before the rest of my party showed up. Then a buddy asked for change for a $20 for valet money and the owner just started barking at a bartender, there just didnt seem to be a need for this? Simply put, I work too hard for my money to give it to business owners that think this is how to do business. One and Done!

I could not be more disappointed in my experience at Reel. First of all, I would say the best part of my meal was the french fries. My husband was incredibly excited when he saw the salmon BLT on the menu, but the dish was so saturated with oil that the bottom piece of bread was drenched and inedible. On top of that, the food gave him horrible food poisoning. In addition, the combined color and texture of his gumbo was so off-putting, it was never finished. For me, my lobster roll tasted more like tuna than lobster, making the experience both unsettling and dissatisfying. The dinner experience stayed with us far beyond our time inside the walls of Reel. It is safe to say we will not be returning.
