After a 20 year career with The Mirage and officerss privileges in all restaurants, sign my name and pick up the tip, Ive been horribly disappointed with very other purported gourmet restaurant in the area. The wife has been trying to convince me to try WR&T, but until she wanted to go on our 39th anniversary, I managed to avoid it. Last night I had my first meal there. It was a good as any room Id visited in Las Vegas. The price was about equal to the cost of tipping in a Las Vegas room. Garden/sea fresh Cioppino in La Crosse! I couldnt believe my ears. I hadnt had a decent bowl since Buzios in The Rio in 2006. The reviews in that year were stellar! The steamed clams were very good and the breads were well made. Not spectacular, but who can compete with Steve Wynns Italian bakery? The overall portions were definitely midwestern and quite large. The decor was extremely well maintained. 20 years of Wynns detail has made a monster out of me. But I didnt find a single flaw from ceiling to baseboard. Wait staff was very professional. Her wine pairing was spot on and she served with aplomb. The support staff needs some work, and fell down and left minor requests to the server. She deserved more focused support. Regardless the experience was a real pleasure. I rolled over in my sleep and woke up with the delightful flavors from the meal. The prime beef was in fact prime and very nice. We prefer grass fed but the lovely was happy. Out terrier was even happier that the portion was quite large. Appetizer, salad, cioppino, tenderloin with shrimp, a perfect old school martini, two stems of nice wine, with tip 20%, $140. I was shocked by the value! Well be back in August for an escape night at the Radisson and a birthday dinner with WR&T Thanks! Well done!

The ambiance of this fine restaurant is perfect, whether you dine in the dining room overlooking American Bald Eagles diving for fish in the beautiful LaCrosse river, or whether you eat at the really classy dark wood English motif bar. LaCrosse has done itself proud to have what I consider one of the best places to eat in the Midwest-including Chicago. The one who places a twinkle in my eye and I have dined at The Waterfront on 3 occasions. On each occasion we left wishing we could eat more! Whether you go with appetizers or the ala carte menu, you will be in for a delight of the palate that you will rarely experience. I could recommend so many dishes, but be bold and choose anything and I guarantee that you will have a very, very pleasant experience.

Truthfully, I was disappointed in my meal at The Waterfront on Thursday. I had to send my shrimp back, overcooked to the point of being like shoe leather. The scallops were ok, some grit & one had a very off taste. The 2 shrimp & 2 scallops were served with linguini and a sauce that tasted ok but had gotten nearly solid. This for $31. Our server did bring 2 new shrimp that were properly cooked. My husbands dayboat snapper was "just ok". At $27, it should be darn good. I will say that our server offered the cheese curds from the tavern menu and they were great, but Im in no hurry to go back for dinner.

The food and atmosphere is one of the best in La Crosse. My only criticism is that they rely too much on younger and less experienced staff who do not appreciate the nuisances of fine dining. For example, my guest who is 24 years of age was carded at the table. This after ordering a glass of wine. I understand that bars, especially in a college town, need to card customers. The Waterfront is not a college bar. It simply lowered the quality of the experience, embarrassed my guest and started the evening on the wrong note.

Crab cake appetizer! Mmmm! Peach summer salad with add on salmon was absolutely perfect! Flavor & freshness of every ingredient was very satisfying. Chicken jalapeño sandwich offered on fresh bakery. Great, all fresh, moist tender chicken! Staff was pleasant & knowledgeable. Restaurant & facilities are clean. River view dining across from beach. Overall rating reduced per two items; both layers of double table linens are fold crease wrinkled at all tables in dining room & wide window shutters are in need of dusting.

Jessica did an amazing job as our wedding planner. We were incredibly impressed with the professionalism, attention to detail, and warmth that she and the entire staff shared with our family and friends. The food was fantastic, and the room looked gorgeous. Our guests told us that this was the best wedding venue that had ever been to, and we are so glad we chose the Waterfront for our special day!

I had my wedding and my wedding reception and a pre-wedding family lunch at The Waterfront Cargil Room in August of 2014. Beautiful facility, first class service and food, and the customer service with all staff and Kate the event coordinator was beyond excellent. My guests also had rave reviews of all aspects, from food to the facility. It was a perfect day.

This restaurant is excellent. They have wonderful daily specials and a beautiful back private dining room overlooking the Mississippi River. This room can accommodate approximatly 20 people, but they do have a larger room also to accommodate more. Everytime I have been there the food is just as beautiful as the presentation. The staff is excellent also.

The Waterfront is an amazing, and extremely classy establishment. Ive been here for a few holiday events, they pull out all the stops and deliver a very fine dining experience. The staff is helpful, knowledge, and convivial. The food and wine are out of the park. Take someone here if you want to impress them. This is the premier restaurant of La Crosse.

The patio at the Waterfront has a beautiful view and is heated, so its even comfortable on a chilly day! The pergola overhead can also shut so guests can continue dining on the patio even if it starts to rain (so long as the wind doesnt blow the rain too much!). Their cocktails are delightful and I enjoyed their appetizers. Would definitely go back!

Just plain bad food. We had the calimari to start and it was greasy and the sause was just plain mayo turned red. For the main meal we had the blt and the bread fellow apart. It was supposed to have tons of flavor and it had none. The fries and pickle were the only good part about the meal. It looks like an amazing restaurant but dont be deceased.

The Waterfront has a beautiful location. Every detail to the interior has been exquisitly attended to. Unfortunatly that can not be said of the food. Our entrees were edible, but nothing special. I wish that the chef knew what he/she is trying to do. there is no ryhm or reason the the mismash of items on the menu. We were very disappointed.

Great atmosphere and food. Wife and I had our standard road trip meal- two entrees, one glass of wine and one mixed drink, shared desert and the bill was $ 15 more than average on our Wisconsin trip. The food, atmosphere and service were head and shoulders above the rest making it a real value in our opinion.
