Have any of you ever eaten at a "hole-in- the-wall" before? Thats exactly where Judith and I had lunch last Friday. Jasmines on the Bayou, located on Jones Creek Rd off of Coursey Blvd in Baton Rouge, is a unpretentious gem of a restaurant that serves good food for very reasonable prices. It only seats about twenty people inside, but they have six seats outside. We had the their shrimp Creole and Cajun spaghetti, each came with a salad and a side, and I also had their corn and crab soup. The sauces were a touch sweet, but that did not detract from the flavor of the dish. They dont have a liquor license, so we were able to bring in our own wine. The total tab was only $24 before tax and tip! It has been said that you shouldnt judge a book by its cover and that applies to Jasmines on the Bayou...

Every time I dine at Jasmines, I leave happy. The food is consistently good (seasoning/freshness), and the service is very personable. There isnt much dining space, but they have added some tables/chairs outside. I order whatever the special is because I have come to trust their kitchen very much. Also, Ill recommend the Jasmines Trio appetizer--it is good. Be sure to check their hours/call before heading that way as they seem to be closed on odd days/change hours often.

Got the rocket shrimp poboy which was great. Got a side of chicken and sausage gumbo that was ok. I prefer okra in mine and this one didnt have much veggies at all and was very salty. We also got the crawfish etoufee but sent it back because it tasted like roux with crawfish in it. No flavor at all. Exchanged that for the fried catfish which was good. Waitress was helpful and friendly. Resturant was clean.

My first trip to Jasmines On the Bayou was outstanding! The waitress was very nice and likable, the food came out very quickly, and the taste was amazing! I ordered the chicken alfredo and boudin balls, and OH MAN! They were great! Also very reasonably priced for the size of the meal. Was my first trip, and will definitely not be my last :)

My favorite restaurant in Baton Rouge. Worth the trip from anywhere. Rocket Shrimp is delicious and the bread pudding is honest and HUGE! Prices are good, staff is amazing and take the time to get to know the regulars. Ive had them cater my wedding and a party too. Guests raved about the wraps.

On our way back from Texas headed to Florida, perfect stop, not too far off the interstate, OMG delicious. Party in my tummy! I had the chicken Alfredo, hubby had the Shrimp Creole, the kids had fried chicken. Absolutely delicious. Hubby wanted to take the chef home. Great service!!

Amazing food at a great price. Try the Stuffed Steak Sandwich!!! Steak stuffed with crawfish and cheese and veggies! AMAZING!! Also, the bread pudding is some of the best Ive ever had. Service is great and food is delicious. A hidden gem in Baton Rouge indeed!

Mike was super nice and accommodating The food came out fast, hot, and everything was delicious. The crab and corn bisque is a must! The catfish was fresh and fried to perfection. We will definitely go next time we travel through Louisiana! .

Ate here on our way through Baton Rogue during our road trip. The po-boys tasted great and the cookie dough spring rolls are now one of my favorite desserts. With the great service we had it lead to an amazing overall experience.
