HOLY COW! Thats the reaction I had when I took my 12yr old here and ordered two cheese burgers one bacon cheese fry and one drink(I had a burger and water). Price tag,...$28.00 "HOLY COW!!!!" Yeah, thats for sure!! Food was good,..enjoyed my water!:) Honestly, meat was tiny, fries where huge, very expensive. What struck me the most though was how filthy everything is here. Just take a peak behind the wide open counter and look at the floor, walls, black mold on hand sinks, black ceiling, grease completely covering the cooking equipment. This place does 0 actual cleaning and it shows. I guess its a great place for college kids who drink heavily and fall asleep on nasty bathroom floors but for anyone with standards and does not rent roach coach hotels when traveling, its a definite NO! Heres just one pic from my seat at the bar. This table is black with filth, as is the lower wall and "white pipes". Wheres the health dept??

In my attempt to find the best burger in Baton Rouge I had to try Fat Cow. Unfortunately it did not live up to all Ive heard. The menu and options appeared exceptional and I was impressed by the variety of items they suggested putting on their burgers, but when it comes down to it their beef patty is severely lacking. Its hard to single out, but something about their meat tastes like its processed. Their buns are sweeter than I prefer on a burger but theyre fresh and light, the cheeses and other extras are appealing, and the duck fat fries (one serving is HUGE) provide a little different taste and had a good flavor but were a bit greasy and not as crisp as I would prefer (maybe thats standard for duck fat?). As of this point Fat Cow is a distant fourth best burger Ive had in Baton Rouge.

3.5 Stars... If you are feeling carnivorous, this is one of the places to check out in BR/LSU area. Fat Cow offers a variety of burgers and fries (and milkshakes too!). The prices are a little steep depending on which burger you choose. The burgers come in two sizes: regular and petite (probably the size of a regular McDonalds burger). The hamburger patties are very juicy and seasoned perfectly. What Id recommend: 120 Burger (for those bacon lovers) Baja Burger Toss-up: Duck Fat Fries with Parmesan (If you are fine with having non-crispy fries, these are for you but I like them crisp. The good thing about these fries though are they are not overly salted.) *Also, just on a side note, the burgers come with a sweet-tasting bun. I think it is to balance the saltiness of the burger patty.

The food is great- honestly amazing salmon burger, fantastic shakes, and pretty good fries. But the service is terrible! Even on to-go orders, time and time again I have experienced very negative interactions with my orders. The girls at the registers are nice, but when orders are messed up- and when the price is what it is- there should be a lot more effort into fixing mistakes. I have been going back during the past four years bc it truly is really good food, but the service has caused me to no longer go here and I would warn future customers to go for the good food, but beware of the service!

In my opinion as a 10 yr food service vet and a life time foodie, this is the best burger in town. The but has just a touch of sweet, the vegies are always suoer fresh, the burger is cooked perfectly of the finest, leanest meat (not greasy at all) and for a little more money they toll itin duck fat! Yeah i said DUCK FAT!!! not even to mention the fresh, natual cut, parmesan, duck fat fries. I sugest the Knapa. And come with your appetite. The small fry alone is enough to feed two people. Oh and did I mention they have out of this world milkshakes. Oh and a really good on tap beer selection.

I like the 120 burger. Their bread is kind of sweet which is different… Get the petite instead of the regular. It looks like they have the same amount of meat, just a larger/smaller bun and $1 difference. I got both the Duck Fat Fries and regular. I like the regulare just fine, the Duck Fat was not earth-shattering. The Parmesan adds more than the duck fat. The Duck Fat are more expensive, but you also get twice the fries when you go Duck Fat. Overall it is a good burger, but I prefer Burgersmith.

My chicken was red and the fries were soggy and cold. I gave it back and they served me the wrong burger, but the fries were hot this time. On my third attempt I got the right burger, seemingly up to standard. I got about three bites in and left. It was just not good, and definitely not worth $15 for a burger combo. $10 for the burger alone. The cashier girls were rude and unhelpful. Would not recommend to anybody.

My girlfriend is a Waitr driver and wanted to try this place after picking up several orders from the place. Everything was overcooked the meat was dry and rubbery like highschool cafeteria hamburgers. The duck fat fries tasted like greasy peanut oil and parm. The onion strings were just over fried crisp. Huge waste of $30 dollars. Did I mention its all overpriced?

Overall the atmosphere is neat, hip and inviting. Overall we werent impressed with the taste of the burger and the fries seemed very sweet which came as an odd surprise. The jalapeño bread fell apart very easily and no sauce on the speciality burger I ordered which required me to add ketchup, mayo and mustard. Not horrible but also nothing impressive.

I went with my wife. We got the Smoke Stack and Napa burger, fries, and onion rings. We loved the burgers. The patties alone were unique and yummy but the bread and ingredients made them even more so good. Easiest one of my fav burgers ever. Shr loved the fries especially too. Fun environment and a good selection (10 taps?) of craft beer.

Fat Cow may have the one of the best gourmet burgers Ive tasted in the state. The atmosphere is great as well with outside seating. Im giving them four stars because their onion rings could be slightly bigger than what appears to be a string and their french fries can be little less greasy. Though, their burgers are phenomenal.

Ive been there several times, and have yet to be disappointed. The first time I had the duck fat fries they were incredible but every time since they have been mediocre. I highly recommend any of the burgers, substituted with salmon, I have had the Baja with salmon and it is absolutely mouth watering. You just cant stope eating it!

They have good, fresh tasting ingredients and the burgers are meatier than most other places. Great duck fat fries, too. The bleu cheese wedge is as good as any steakhouse around town. Get the monthly special burger and/or shake if they have it. The owner knows food and has some great ideas in the kitchen.

It was OK, but nothing special, especially for the money I spent. Almost $60 for four burgers (one double), three small fries, one soft drink and one shake. Two waters. About $35 worth of food, being generous. Definitely not worth even close to $60. Maybe they have a lot of overhead. I wont be going back.

Delightful!! Went by with a couple of buddies at lunch. We ate like kings and had enough to bring home... maybe it was because we saved room for the delicious shakes, but we all had regular-sized burgers and shared an order of duck fat fries. Do not miss these fries!!! The shakes are awesome, too.
