Four girlfriends were in town for Derby weekend. Wild Eggs came highly recommended so we went expecting a wonderful breakfast. Even though they were very busy it seemed we waited an unusual length of time after ordering for our food to be served. We had several bad experiences during our visit. I ordered the poached eggs and lox on a bagel. The eggs, Hollandaise and potatoes arrived cold. Our server took the cold dish away. Another server came by and questioned me about why I sent it back. I found it insulting when she asked if I knew the lox and tomato were intended to be cold. I assured her that as a chef I was aware of that but I expected the eggs, sauce and potatoes to be hot. What happened to customer being right and why was I made to feel I had to justify to her why I was sending I back? I had already told our server why. This was the appropriate time for a manager to identify himself/herself to discuss the issue but that did not happen. When it came time to pay our bills two of the four were paid in cash. I find it to be very poor taste when a server assumes any extra money is intended as a tip and says, "you dont need your change, do you?" That was said to one of us. She then stunned us all by asking another of our party, "you dont want your jingle change, do you?" We were so taken aback the response was "no" but then we realized the "jingle change" was $0.96. Seemed very presumptuous to all of us. Unfortunately the servers actions left a very poor taste in our mouths. Ive always said great service can overcome even mediocre food but poor service always leaves you with an unpleasant taste in your mouth. All in all the whole experience ruined our much anticipated breakfast at a restaurant rated #2 in the Louisville area. I cannot recommend this restaurant.

You ever decided you wanted to try a new breakfast place? One with an untamed name? Boom! Wild Eggs Pros: Great service, minimal restaurant design, egg-related decorations, clean bathroom, lively atmosphere, a touch of mexican-inspired menu Cons: Average breakfast food, complex menu The Experience: Heard the raving reviews and was a bit disappointed. Ever wake up with this weird craving for a nice hash brown? Well, I did and unfortunately, the didnt have regular hashes. Anywho, onto what I ordered. I ordered the steak and eggs with a waffle on the side and my girlfriend ordered the "KY" Brown. Of course I never had high expectation for steak when ordering it from a breakfast place, but I still hope for it to be cooked right. My steak was well-done (request medium) and under-seasoned. The eggs tasted as if it came from actual eggs as opposed to a carton, but was overcooked and a tad dry. The waffle was unfortunately soggy with minimal crisp. My girlfriends meal presentation was aesthetically pleasing, but taste-wise, was very rich (like overwhelmingly rich). Our waiter however, was very respectful and attentive. I would like to try this place again for the service alone, but perhaps order different items.

I ordered food to go, French toast and an egg salad sandwich. The toast was undercooked and the "deviled" egg salad flavorless. The lemonade was a 16 oz cup with 14 oz of ice. I had even added a slice of cheese on the sandwich, and originally it was melted on. This is a cold sandwich, why melt the cheese? When offered to remake it, I let them, but they just slapped a 2nd piece of cheese on and left the melted slice. That isnt remaking the sandwich and it took them 5 minutes to do that. The potato chips that came with the sandwich were very stale. Not impressed and wont be returning.

Love the food at this restaurant, but today I took my daughter there and she ordered the grilled cheese with gluten free bread (she cant eat gluten because it makes her pretty sick). She had eaten most of the sandwich when she started feeling bad, we asked our waiter if hed ordered the gf bread, and he had not! I was very upset, they did comp the sandwich but not much they can do to make up for my daughter being sick all day. The servers need to understand that the gf orders are very important and usually ordered because of a health reason.

Sunday morning you expect to wait, I get that, but not for over an hour and a half. Once we were finally seated the service was okay but nothing to write home about, it seems theres a serious need for more wait staff and/or people to bus tables. The food was subpar, chicken and waffles was 5 out of 10 and the steak and eggs was a 4 out of 10. If you like waiting for less than middle of the road brunch in an overcrowded restaurant where the climate control is set on muggy and warmer than need be, this is your place!

I ate the banana foster here last weekend. I think it was the most amazing thing Ive ever eaten. The ice cream they served on top was nothing short of magical. Seven days later I still cant stop craving it. Even the orange juice was better than your average orange juice. And the service was great. I think his name was Justin? He was great. We waited 25 min for a table for 2, but it was a Sunday at noon so thats probably to be expected.

Ive yet to have anything from Wild Eggs that wasnt executed well. I didnt care for todays Grits of the Day (bacon, queso and chicken) but everything down to the coffee is just what you would like in such a breakfast joint. The OJ isnt cheap but it is worth every penny. This place is good for a business breakfast or for a treat for the family.

Colossally overrated or worth every penny? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. ALWAYS packed, always on a wait but the food is good and the drinks are decent. If you are a brunch fan, you cannot go wrong with Wild Eggs. I hate that it is ALWAYS packed. Besides that, pretty darn good!

The raspberry lemon pancakes were delicious, but some of the pancake was undercooked. It was so large that I ate around the soft bits and was still full. Coffee was delicious and the potato casserole was excellent. Definitely worth a return, but Ill pick something else next time.

Best breakfast place ever. My husband and I moved to California, but whenever we come back to Louisville, this is at the top of our list of places to go! Service is always great and everyone is friendly and attentive. The blueberry pancakes are the best pancakes Ive ever had!

I was a waitress for 12 years, and this is one of the best way waitress experiences I have ever had. One of the members of our party had to step out on a phone call and the kitchen replaced her French toast multiple times in order to accommodate without having to even ask.
