I have heard wonderful, wonderful things about this place; I was in Anderson, so I looked for and found the Lemon Drop. 3 young girls working and another lady maybe 40; I sat at the counter, ordered my food and watched. Everyone was SO nice; BUT, I watched not once, but several times, the young woman cooking, taking raw hamburger with her bare hands to put on the grill to cook and then going over to take fries out of fryer and then picking through the fries to pick out the onion rings, with the same hand she had just touched raw meat. Each of the young servers would come get their burgers, etc and put their own lettuce, tomato etc on the sandwich, again with bare hands. The girls all also handled money from the customers, then would touch the lettuce/tomato; no one even washed their hands, except the cook did once after I said something. I said something to the older woman and she just stared at me and said nothing. I looked and I didnt even SEE any gloves. I know its small town, but that grossed me out and I wont go back.

I have lived in Anderson all my life and this is only the second time I have been to the Lemon Drop. I saw the news about it and we decided to try it. The onion burger was delicious and the fries were hot and delicious as well. I like the fact they brought the fries out when they were finished and did not wait on the onion burger. We will DEFINITELY go back and probably once a month after that. VERY GOOD FOOD and the service people were very nice and friendly.

This Hamburger Cafe is Old School. They are as Friendly as You can find ANYWHERE. Its very Clean. Fast Service / REALLY FAST... And the "Onion Burger" is OMG AWESOME! Did I mention how friendly they are? I had the Double Onion Burger w/LTM, Onion Rings & an Ice Tea. And I got full. I WILL be Back. Only $12.1? + Tip... $2.8? I left Her the change from $15 Really Delicious. Dont EVER close up shop!!

Wow - what a blast! Like stepping into a time machine to the early 1960s! The food was very tasty old school lunch counter kind of stuff - my grilled tenderloin sandwich was delicious! What sets this place apart however are the unique atmosphere and the FABULOUS old-fashioned and efficient service - even in a high end restaurant you are lucky if you get service this great..

Lemon Drop is classic hole-in-the wall burger joint- only CLEAN and of course, delicious. Great prices, yummy burgers, fries, onion rings, etc. Everything you would expect from an old diner and the waitresses memorize your order! Never once had a mistake on my order. Try a chocolate coke or a burger on toast instead of a bun! 5 Stars for Sure!

I cannot believe i havent reviewed this place yet! My favorite place in town. It really is the best. Onion burger and cheese fries. I dont know what it is about the cheese sauce that is so much better than everywhere else but it is. You have to stop here its fantastic.
