I just returned from Ponderosa this evening, the food was horrible,over cooked clams and shrimp, and many of the dinner plates were dirty.My friend and I were greeted at the cash register with no one there..for 12 min. when she did show up she started to wait on a customer that just walked in, after replying to her that we were the next in line and had been waiting she responded with an attitude,,we both order the buffet with the crab legs,the first order came out after a fair amount of time the crab legs looked nice but very little meat,we order some more after 20 minutes we got our next order,,,very little,and the next order again after 20 min..really???so after the third order my friend asked for the manager,showing him the amount of crab,,his response was well i cant control the amount of meat in the legs...he ordered one more order of crab for us,,very disapointing again,,i just think its a little disrespectful first the attitude at the cash register then the meal experience,i work in a large facility and i will not recommend your resturant until it has chosen to shape up.

Always amazing. Food never disappoints. EXCEPTION: My family and went here last week around 8:05 p.m. And the waitress acted as if we were an inconvenience to her. Had to ask several times for a refill on drinks. Then she was complaining to a co-worker that she had made no tips that evening and it was BullS***. Not professional as we had our 8 year old daughter with us and she was using profanity on the floor. I usually tip at least $20.00 every time I go there because the service is great, but this waitress got nothing from me. I think management should have more of a presence in the dining room no matter what time it is and make themselves available as I would have complained about our waitress. Going there to eat this evening also.

Rarely have I been so disappointed or felt more like I wasted money. Right from the get go the staff member at the front was almost unintelligible, walked through to the table and looked at the buffet and saw food with crusts on it as thick as my hand, fried chicken that looked like (and tasted like) it was yesterdays reheated leftovers, as a matter of fact aside from the corn, mashed potatoes, and biscuits, everything tastes and looked horrible! The server was very nice, no complaints there, but it did nothing to ameliorate the food and service provided by the manager. I should have been wary when I pulled into a nearly empty parking lot during the dinner hour.... a lesson I wasted $30 on and one I wont need to learn again.

Stopped in on Sunday July 31, 2011...Place was packed with customers...(Great news for them) However, Salad plates were dirty...I pulled three from cooler that had food still on them....Front entrance stated that the food bar had fried chicken livers and when I got to the food bar area NO LIVERS...so I ask for some from a male manager or shift manager, and he acted as if I put him out...He sent out some for me with a server and they were delivered on a DIRTY PLATE...(come on people). I would not ask you to eat off a dirty plate so WHY do you expect me to...This may have been just because it was busy..However, Planing is the key here...(NO PLANING). So, if you plan to go here I would suggest not when they are busy....

Me and my boyfriend went to Ponderosa steak house and ordered two steaks, Well done and two Buffets on 1/8/15. Everything on the Buffet was as cold as ice, which is unhealthy because of possible food poisoning .After About 40 minutes our steaks and potatoes were finally delivered to our table and both steaks were raw inside and burnt on the outside. the potatoes were so cold they would not even melt the butter on them. On top of it all the manager who was talking to the table behind us , was telling her life story, her boyfriend totaled her mustang so they broke up and she had to move back in with her momma . Very unprofessional Management, terrible cooks, and service. I would not recommend eating there.

Rugs had food all over the floor. Food was cold. Steak was tasteless. Gnats flying and crawling on food and on our table. Mandarin oranges was sour on salad bar.. No drinks with our meals. Waitresses uniforms dirty and wrinkled. Received meal without salad. Dirty sanitary pad with blood on it stuck to bathroom stall. People sitting around talking with waitresses nasty mouths talking ghetto talk. I suggest the health department close this place down.

Excellent Staff - Great Food! We went for my daughters birthday but found they did not have her favorite serloin steak on the bar. Michael (the manager) had some prepared especially for her. Everyone paid special attention to her (not just singing and dessert but truly talking with her), taking an interest and just being personable. The food was hot and tasty and Chelsey was an excellent waitress as well. Good job!

Service was great. I was shocked by how good this place was. There isnt a huge selection but its all very good. The salad bar is the biggest that Ive seen in a while. I decided to try Ponderosa because I remembered that when I was a kid, these places were everywhere and now theyre rare. Very reasonably priced and definitely worth the money.

I had the lunch buffet. The Chicken is great, but the fish sticks or frozen/reheated, breaded paddies made it look like someone took a quick trip to Kroger when they ran out of real fish. Also, how about some steak on the buffet since it is a steakhouse? Not worth the $9 ... you would be better served by hitting up a KFC buffet.

Patty is the BEST server ANYWHERE! I read a review here just before I rated my experience here, who said staff is unprofessional. "Me thinks he doth protest too much"! Thats what makes this place so special! If Patty wasnt working here, I wouldnt waste my time coming in here! Post this where EVERYONE can read it!

I guess it all depends on day. One day I can hear the servers crying and complaining about how they hate their jobs. Next time you hear the servers talking about all type m hoodrat conversation. And one day you get a sweet server that reminds you why you still keep giving this place a chance.

One of the few restaurants left that still tastes like it did when i was a kid. Not the best food, but i feel like a lot of people set their expectations too high. You dont go to ponderosa for great food, you go for all-you-can-eat good food.

My wife and I eat here at least once a month. The staff are great, the food is tasty and hot, and the prices are reasonable. I love bringing family from it out of town, since so many Ponderosa restaurants are gone now. Great place to eat.

The chopped steak, baked potato and sweet tea were delicious. The macaroni and cheese on the buffet wasnt very warm, and the coconut cream pie (also on the buffet) had a stronger flavor that I didnt like. I would eat here again.

Couldnt get the sreak right then watched one of the servers spray glass cleaner on the glass where the desserts are OMG!!!! Must be something they do so just imagine what goes on in the kitchen....

Service was great. The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. I will be driving from the P.R.P. area more often to enjoy this fine dining establishment
