Giving La Cantina in Marion a second try after a bad experience. The first time (like tonight) I walked in and stood at the front door unacknowledged for way too long, until I finally just sat myself. I ordered guacamole the first time and it had a handful of oversized diced white onions in it as welll as an obnoxious amount of jalapenos. Tonight, I asked the server if it could be made without onion or jalapenos for me and he said no. So, I ordered queso dip. It arrived warm but with a curdled texture and again..too much heat. My food arrived under 11 minutes. 2 hardshell ground beef tacos with refried beans on the side. The beans were obviously reconstituted, bland, inedible due to a strange aftertaste. Ground beef was clearly a soy blend/mush. My side of sour cream was watery. On the topic of water, the iced water had a very strong chlorine taste/small. Bottom line: the things which should have been mild or flavorless werent and the others had no flavor!

Had lunch there yesterday and it was awful. My spouse and I ordered a dish that was supposed to be split between two people, food was cold and very greasy, and it was presented on an odd tower like platter and plates were not provided. My son ordered a cheeseburger off the kids menu and it was cold too and bread was very dried out, there were no toppings. Sent the food back to be heated but it still tasted disgusting. We were not offered good customer service when the food had to be sent back, no offer of making something else or applying a discount. I almost never complain at restaurants but felt I needed to say something. It was a waste of money and I will never go back again.

Very friendly atmosphere love the food there excellent service timely manner food was brought out and enjoyed the company. 1/3/17. Still good food had some chicken tacos AMD chips and salsa. Small complaint of chicken bone in one of the tacos. Alerted the waiter of this and nothing was done to correct. But on the other hand if u went to KFC and complained about a chicken bone in the chicken Im gonna guess they would spend the rest of the time laughing at u so no worries here. Still good food up beat music and friendly atmosphere

It seems like every Mexican restaurant in town has a dish that I really love and at La Cantina its the Arroz con Pollo, a plate full of Mexican rice, tender and hot fajita chicken, covered in queso. Seriously, dont order queso for your chips, just order this and youll have plenty for dipping too! Service is most always attentive, even when busy. We are never disappointed when we choose La Cantina.

Just another run-of-the-mill Mexican restaurant. Ive given them multiple tries to see if something on the menu stands out, & so far Ive come across nothing. The service has always been okay to downright terrible, even when they arent busy. Theres better Mexican food elsewhere in Marion, or close to Marion that I recommend before even thinking of this place.

Out of the several visits Ive made to this place, only once have i had a good experience. The menu is on par with every other Mexican joint in the area, & the food itself is only okay or worse. Which is a shame, since a lot of the guys Ive seen working here also work or have worked at restaurants far better than this one.

My friend and I met there today for lunch. Had to say our waitress was very understanding. We (meaning friend and me) had some very serious discussion and tears and our waitress was very aware on what was happening and so thoughtful. Cannot say enough but thank you. And the food was awesome............

Orders were wrong. Ordered beef and got chicken. Couldnt exchange it because we were told there was only one cook and it wouldve taken too long? Food wasnt bad except for the cheeseburger my youngest ordered. 3rd time here and the other times were ok.

My new favorite Mexican restaurant. We ate the Cantanizo with beef, chicken, chorizo. They serve it in a molcajete which keeps the food nice and hot. The margaritas are the best around. I would give this place 10 stars.

This is a local favorite of my familys. We love the atmosphere, the service, and the food. The servers are great and we never feel pressured to hurry through our meal. Bonus: their margaritas are made just right!!
