Horrible experience. Had a sick family memeber and needed to order for out. After 5-6 failed attempts to reach anyone at the resturant, I decided to drive down to the Sturgis Corner location and placed my order. As I walked in I realized it was in fact very busy in which helped bring to light the only possible reason behind zero phone efforts. However, as I placed my order for carry out the "manager" mentioned he heard the phone ringing and opted to not even bother. It really would have taken 1 maybe 2 mins at most. So I shrugged it off, asked for an estimated eta, and received an answer of 20 mins, but could be alittle longer? That seemed legit with a packed house. So I mentioned to him I would return in 25 mins to make good use of the wait time. As I returned at the 25 min mark. I continued to wait another 20 mins to find that my order was room temp and the desert I was sent to get was frozen. He was nice enough to give me the option of either choosing something else, or waiting 24 hrs to eat it. This of course was all discussed after my card had been run. Bad customer service and poor job of setting time expectations. Ive been there a few times before and never had an experience like the one I had today. So hopefully this was just an isolated incident.

Village Inn or V.I. as it is affectionately known to many was a suprisingly good find one morning when we were looking for a quick "better than Dennys, but still quick/comfy" brunch and to our surprise it didnt disappoint. The place reminds me of a colorful redesigned 50s diner. Its sort of like a half step above every other generic diner, but on Wednesday they give you free pie (hence the fourth star!). I had an omelette, which was quite tasty and my better half had a burger which too was delicious. Our waitress was friendly and the service overall was above average. Good place for groups, but beware of the wait on the weekends. Always good for people watching and they serve a good cup of coffee as well. Id bet a shiny new dime its a great spot for late night dining as well. Worth trying if youre in the mood for relatively quick diner-esk food and a healthy serving of pie!

I really like this place. When I go here I usually come in early evenings or at night. Great food, great pie, great staff. Brian, who works up front is really pleasant. Hes always upbeat and conversational, and hes funny too! I like this guy. And his hair!!! I know that doesnt really have anything to do with how good a restaurant is but I had to mention I love his hair! Dana is there too at nights as a manager, she is really nice. She checks on tables to see how people are doing. Shes always pleasant to me and others too! The waiters/waitresses are all great, never had bad service from anyone! This is a good place to go, I highly recommend it.

The Manger there at Iowa City stinks I went in the other day sent $40.00 my order was wrong and cold my wife called back he argue with her and said the reason my food was cold was b/c I was talking to another woman??? What so I went back got them to make it again he would not say sorry or give me a credit for being wrong or me driving all the way home and back.. and when I got my new food he stuck it in my face and sad see it steaming . I just hated the whole experience, I called over to Coralville and talked to their Manger Joe and what a totally different guy he was so nice.

Food was delicious but service was slow. One lady that worked in the front was rude to a dishwasher man who cleaned off the tables. Customer was also rude and blindly proceed to get in front of me in line to check out when she clearly saw me in line. Not many black people around so the other rude lady refused to check me out so we had to wait. Supposedly the best pie but never got to try it either. Maybe next time. Some staff were cool. What would I exoect from Iowa.

This is a popular breakfast place. It is very busy during breakfast. It also tends to be very noisy during meal times. I prefer to visit during off peak hours. The atmosphere is very nice and the WIFI is a plus. The coffee is good and they offer free pie on Wednesdays. The services is somewhat lacking. I often have to wait a while for requests to be taken care of. Overall a great place.

Good food. Good customer service. Reasonable prices. It provides the exact experience youd expect. Its not anything out there or exciting, but its reliably good and comfortable - both food and service - enough that Ive been coming here regularly for years.

Breakfast all day, every day! Whats not to love? Very good coffee, and pretty good selection of lunch and dinner items too. Great pie. Very reasonable prices. Since theyre open all day I particularly like going there in the mid-afternoon on my days off.

It is a slow moving restaurant. They greet you quickly but then after you are seated you wait a long time for a server to show up. The food was good and they did help out with a low salt meal, though the asked for American fries came as french fries.

I have never been disappointed by this location. Today i watch the hostess help the bus boy clear tables. I really want to say how awesome it is to see such an amazing team work together. From the kitchen to the server we are always impressed.

My dad has worked here for over 20 years and Ive always thought the food was good when he made it in the mornings on weekdays- anyone else that cooks there sucks tbh- ask for Gary Green to make your food (tallest guy there I think)

Visited the restaurant twice. Both times around dinner time. Food was so so. Waitresses didnt pay much attention. Was waiting for drinking water for long time and decided to get up, walk to kitchen and get it myself.

Just another restaurant serving the same menu as everyone else. Not saying its a bad place, but I like a little more variety than the same omelet and bacon platter that is served at most restaurants for breaksfast.

Great waitress, chef sucks at cooking. Ordered a medium rare steak and some of it was still blue. The biscuit tasted day old and some of the hash browns were undercooked. The eggs however were cooked properly.

Ordered chicken fried steak breakfast eggs medium poached. Eggs were as hard as hockey pucks. Wait staff passable. One of the few restaurants on my side of town just wish they would get their act together.

Staff was friendly, Wi-Fi is good and usable no blocked ports and Upnp enabled :). They are NOT 24 hours, they kicked us out at 1 a.m. on a Friday. They are only 24 hrs on weekends? What is Friday then?

good place for bfast 24x7 but whats with the ridiculous corny sign trying to be contemporary and fails at it miserably; fire your graphic designer, its terrible and embarrassing. really embarrassing.
