Based on the reviews from the fellow Yelpers, I was a bit skeptical about Share, but after dining in on a "Friday with class", I was much more enthused about this place. FWC is Shares version of a happy hour and features a limited, but good, menu and some excellent drink specials. Its located inside the Sheraton hotel, across from the lobby and just off the ped mall. The seating inside is plentiful, the atmosphere is casual yet classy, and there is plenty of outdoor seating as well. The wine selection is impressive with enough choices for even the most discerning palate. The beer selection is a little lighter, but impressive in the variety offered. Theyve got a dozen or so higher end beers, including a number of darks and Belgians that are sure to please anyone looking for something out of the ordinary. The drink specials included $4 glasses of wine, $12 select bottles and a ton of mixed drinks that were half price (and most of them served 2 to begin with). Great deals were had - especially on the Moscow Mule! This delicious libation is a combo of vodka, ginger beer and lime juice and comes cold in a copper cup! The FWC menu included a number of small plates that are all half off. They range in price from $3 to $6 and are all very worth the trip. We shared an Iowa pork pizza, the cheese plate, and the pulled pork sliders. All were excellent and paired with the drink specials, we had a good ole time! Overall, this was a great find for happy hour. A little on the expensive side during normal hours, but for the quality, ambiance and selection, we feel likes worth it. Great place for groups and the service was quality. Great place to go before a walk on the ped mall or a night on the town.

The food at Share is delicious. We like to sit outside and take in the culture of the ped mall. Management, however, is a different story. My mom and I wanted to have a nice lunch today, and when we walked into share they gave us menus that only had hamburgers and hot dogs on it. We were told this is their "game day menu" (the Iowa Hawkeyes were playing) I asked the bartender if I could order off the regular menu, and he said sure. He then came back to the table and apologized, saying they were only doing burgers and dogs. My mother is a vegetarian, and we would have gone elsewhere, except we had my 2 year old nephew with us, who was getting tired and just wanted to go home. So I ordered a burger and my mom ordered french fries. For lunch. It was the only vegetarian thing on that menu. After our food came out, there was a table of 3 sitting next to us who were given a regular menu and told they could order whatever they wanted. I was seriously irritated. Im not sure why they were allowed to order off the regular menu and we werent , but it was a disappointing lunch to say the least. When we asked our server about it, he just said "oh yeah, that was our manager that said no". No apologies, no comped food, just a crappy burger and a bad taste in my mouth.

Disappointed, I have been coming to tasty basic for the past year and it has changed for the bad and and no point for this special on Thursday. Before, you can order a tasty basic with pickles, your choice cheese, choose how you want your meat done, ask for mayo and jalapeños. One day it changed to you can only have one type of cheese and one cooked way, OK! Thats great its still $5. Today have me left embarrassed and insulted by whoevers idea this was to change somethings. HERE ARE THE CHANGES, you still have your burger with the cheese and the one cooked way. No more pickles, that would be an extra charge, ask for jalapeños you get charged $1; ask for MAYO, you get charged 0.50 cents. Whats embarrassing is to hear my coworker say, lets just go to McDonalds, youd get free mayo there.... Insulted b/c I can do the math. I might as well just order the Share burger for $10 and choose my own cheese, how its cooked, get a pickle on the side and get free condiments. I hope whoever thought about charging every little thing, needs to rethink again.

My husband and I along with our long-time friends enjoyed a delicious dinner at your restaurant on June 10, 2013. Not only was the food good, but so was the service provided by our waiter, Yasim. The prices were reasonable too. After our dinner, I asked for a special birthday dessert to be sent up to our hotel room. A very friendly young lady and hostess named Ashley Orr helped me decide on just the right dessert for the occasion. When I ordered the dessert later to be sent to our room, she told me the dessert was on them. She was very pleasant and personable! Ashley also made a very cute little card for the birthday person to go with the dessert. It is little added touches like this, that will make a person go back to their restaurant and hotel. Thank you for making our experience at your restaurant a memorable one.

Overpriced, under trained staff. Had a big party- the server couldnt remember who ordered what. Shots were over priced- 13.65 for a shot of patron? And the shot was incredibly small, they said 1.5 oz but they im guessing an oz at best. Food was dry and not very flavorful. The only thing good was the company I was with. Might be worth the price in the summer when theres music. If youre traveling do yourself a favor and walk a bit. Iowa City has much more to offer. Try Mondos Saloon or Mickeys.

Food is great, service NOT so great. I have been to Share many times but that last 2 times will call it quits for me. Our server was very rude and very patient with bringing out the food/beverage order. Our group of 7 on a Thursday night were about the only ones at the restaurant and still had poor service. I would call the restaurant and complain (again) but why bother when I when I shall not return.

Went there for lunch on a Saturday. Very few patrons. The cream for the $3 coffee came in a wine glass, they could not find an appropriate pitcher. The sugar container at the table was nearly empty, and had to scrounge for it from other tables. The choices on the menus were few, and not appealing. Though spacious, clean, and great location, will not be going there again.

Here lunch is so great. The amount is quite proper to me as a woman, but I think that it will be short to men. I ordered Sincerity which consists of soup, salad, and sandwich and have a lot of options. My butternut squash soup and falafel sandwich is so great! They are so savory and neat. I strongly recommend to have lunch with good people there.

Share is among those unfortunate restaurants in which price is not correlated with food quality. It does have the benefit of an excellent location, and its perhaps the best place for people watching in the warmer months.

2nd time here and the food and service were excellent. The burger was cooked perfectly and served with a smile. The roasted veggies and hummus are highly recommended!
