In line with many of the other reviews - we really enjoyed Pullman and Im excited theyre in the area! We werent blown away with everything we tried, but were impressed with a number of dishes. Four of us ended up splitting a number of appetizers and entrees and it was a good way to go for dinner. The atmosphere, as described by others, is reminiscent of a train car with some great decor, nice lighting and artwork. The ambiance is great as everything sets the stage for a laid back experience that encourages conversation. We sat by the front window on opening weekend and it was a good time to be able to chat and watch the goings on outside. Drink menu is solid and had enough to keep all of us busy with a good number of legit beers and mixed drinks. For dinner - the appetizer menu was where we did most of our digging and we were happy with what we had. YOU MUST TRY THE ROASTED MARROW BONES. We havent seen these outside of the west coast and they are fantastic. Spreadable and a little salty on crostini - in a word fantastic! The salmon tartar was excellent and something weve missed. The house made pickles and charcuterie plate were good. The brussels and cauliflower salads were solid and made for good sharing plates. Neiter were the best weve had, but were nice additions to the menu. The main course options for dinner are limited, but it works given the fun stuff elsewhere on the menu. The signature dish is the friend chicken and it was middle of the road for us. The breading wasnt super memorable and weve found that as the breading goes, so goes the chicken. However, the honey and house made hot sauce that come with it were excellent. Perfecting the chicken would make the experience with the honey and hot sauce something to really get excited about! For dessert, we split the nutella pie and some ice cream - both of which were good and right in line with expectations. Im excited to try the stout float at some point. In the end, Pullman is an excellent addition to downtown and somewhere that will only continue to get better. Service was excellent, ambiance was warm and inviting and the food had glimpses of the magnificient! A welcome new spot in town and one were looking forward to trying again.

Absolutely my favorite restaurant in Iowa City. They opened up in 2014 and I have been going here ever since. They have a truly wonderful dining experience that allows you to get close to the food preparation (if you sit at the bar) to see the chefs work. The food is fresh, flavorful and well prepared. I would highly suggest the Griddled Turkey Club, but honestly, you cant go wrong with any of the menu options. Drink selection is top-notch and provides a lot of craft and local beer options and they can make you a wide selection of mixed ($$$) drinks. Stop by and you wont be disappointed.

One of the top 5 places to eat in Iowa City. Food is good and their drink menu gets the job done even though its mostly stouts and IPAs but that seems to be what people want these days. I love the breakfast tacos and the burger. The croque madam is also fantastic. Not a lot of seating but the upside is a fun atmosphere and quick service. They play excellent music as well. I havent really explored their more pricey entrees or appetizers so I cant vouch for those but their chef seems to definitely know what hes doing so as long as hes still working there, I would order with confidence.

Went there and no one attended to me for a while. It was not even busy, just two other ladies at the bar and bartender looked at me but continued to ignore me. Then someone came and said that he is sorry he didnt see me. How can you not see a grown up person at not so crowded bar? And I am dead sure, I saw bartenders looked at me. Drinks seemed to be a bit more expensive than some other bars nearby. I know its probably not true but this also makes me feel like servers and bartenders are racially biased since I am a foreigner.

I have been here several times and I am a sucker for there breakfast. The mojo pork breakfast tacos are amazing. The coffee cake is unparalleled and has come with espresso butter. Ive never had better coffee cake. I was told they use pear puree to make the coffee cake sweet and moist. The pork tacos are served all day and have a great sauce. The wait staff is great too. They really work hard and I always have enjoyed talking to them, though they are usually quite busy.

I have mixed feelings about this place because the fried chicken I ordered was bad, it was taken out of an bread oven and it felt like it had been there at least a couple of days. My wifes food was good, she ordered a sandwich and it was topped with a house-made sauce, that was good. Theres a nice ambiance, it feels like a diner but like a bar at the same time and like a full on restaurant. The coffee is good and they give you a full 4 cup french press so you can share it.

Great beverage and dining options. I typically order the Tipsy Pig and today we tried the new menu item, chicken & biscuits. The Chicken & Biscuits was a tasty option with crunchy chicken breast, egg over medium and flaky homemade biscuits with spicy honey. Great taste and overall great experience out on the patio. Very attentive server and staff. Top notch dining in downtown Iowa City.

The young people who work here are friendly, happy, and give excellent service. The Pullman feeds the help! I like that because Ive been informed that some students are so poor they go to the Crisis Center for food. The Pullman food is good and they have excellent iced tea, beer, and mixed drinks. You can eat healthy salads or straight up American comfort food. Breakfast is served all day.

First Visit: Pullman burger was spectacular, chicken dinner only ok, despite very tasty spicy sauce. Second visit: Had Mo burger, Cobb salad, whisky sour, whisky smash cocktails. The Mo burger has avocado and a delicious sauce. One of the best burgers ever. The salad and drinks were also wonderful. Raise rating another star based on this visit.

Wow this is a great spot. Came here once for community hour - before I had thought their prices were a little high and was thus hesitant to come. But wow! Got a beer, a croque madame, charcuterie plate - all at a very reasonable price (came out under $30) - good selection of options. Will be back to try their nicer dinner menu items next time.

This place is awesome. The open kitchen makes for an overall fun experience. The guys making this delicious food were very knowledgeable about the products they were serving. Good beer when I was there too. Try the Luge if you dare, lets just say you have to order marrow bones and be a drinker. Cant wait to go back!

Grossly overpriced... Paid $14 for a two piece chicken "dinner" that consisted of two pieces of soggy chicken, a tiny portion of lettuce with dressing, and a rock hard biscuit.... My wife got a breakfast entrée that seemed to be fairly priced, however she threw it all up the following morning. WORST DINER EVER.....
