This is the first review I have ever written, but I do need to express I how I feel personally. Prior to this last visit to the bamboo, I had consider this restaurant to be adequate in it selection and presentation of its food items. I frequented this eatery. because of its location, and the food was not all that bad. If asked I would have given it a 3 star rating. But after this last visit. I have concluded that this eating establishment has little to be desired. The food was hardly palatable. and by the time I left I had a foul lingering taste in my mouth. The food seemed to all have that old cooking oil taste, possibly they are not changing deep frier oil as often as it should be . The atmosphere in the restaurant also had a linger smell of the oil.Here it is appropriately 5 hours later since I left the establishment, and I am still belching that rancid oil taste. I am sorry to say, that I will never visit this restaurant again.

Great food at an even better price have eaten here dozens of times over the last year. Never got sick or had bad service. We are no longer asked table or booth or what to drink they just know. We have always been welcomed with a smile. Never once had a server be rude or pushy. Every time i feel something could be fixed or improved on they get it done. Dont let all these sour reviews let you miss out on something you could love. Just give it a try for yourself never know till you try.

Dont listen to any of these reviews this place is horrible absolutely disgusting the only thing that even tasted alright was the rice One of the sushi rolls was rancid and im praying i dont get food poisoning from it and then when we tried to tell one of the employees that there was seriously something wrong with it he just smiled and laughed (because he couldnt understand anything we were saying)

I normally like the food here but Friday April 1 2016 walked in just after 8, they are open til 10:30 and there was no food. Two center food tables had already been broken down, no sushi except a few pieces on a plate? We where so disappointed to also find that they still wanted full price to eat when they had already taken most of the food away.....Hibachi Grill is much better

Been there 3 times; food always great and staff attentive. I saw all the bad reviews and have experienced none of the bad things described. This place stands out among the dozens of nearly identical Chinese buffets I have been to. Stands out in a good way. Downside: all the sushi I have seen there is vegetarian. Lower food cost for sure, but not really what I am looking for.

This is the best Chinese buffet weve been to so far in Des Moines. The food looks and taste fresh and the variety of meats and sea food is great. I love the octopus tentacles, the frog legs and the craw fish. Of course, you can also find beef and broccoli, pepper chicken and the usual Chinese buffet stuff. This is a great value for the money.

I love this Buffet and like the owners and the people who run this place. Honestly would have to say this is the best buffet in town. Their Grill has a good selection cooked really well. The marble rye beef tips there are fresh. I like going there for their dinners because selection is more amusing.

Really good place to go with friends and relax, good selection of food, close to the mall, very nice servers, after going there for awhile theyll even start remembering your drink and table, never had issues with this place, if youre looking for good Chinese buffet you should give this place a try.

Literally the worst chinese buffet i have ever been to, rrancid veggies in the sushi, still made us pay when we left right away. Distgusting, rude, will never be back and itll be a while before i can stomach chinese again. Save urself a trip and just go somewhere else.

Love this place. Consistency is key when youre craving something. Every time we go I get exactly as I expect. Staff is nice. I appreciate how the tables arent super crammed together and there is even more space to walk around as you get your food. Sushi bar is a plus.

A very good variety yet everything had a distinct flavor of its own. We personally enjoyed the cream cheese wontons they were especially crispy and hot. They had a really good Mongolian beef and their sesame chicken was quite delightful.

My husband and I agree the food was fantastic. . It was fresh it was tasty. And most importantly the price was absolutely perfect. The wait staff was attentive and very friendly. Will definitely be going back!
