Cafe Diem is a perfect example of a hidden locally owned treasure, when I travel I like to find places that the locals own and would call their own, as a local to Ames This is where I bring my clients and Im proud that it has been doing so well and that our community has embraced it. Wood Floors, Brick walls and great service this is what I love about the place. Plus, the staff has always been very friendly to myself and my clients. My recommendations... Acai Smoothie Chai on cold days Chicken Salad Sandwich or Black Bean burger Both the best you will find anywhere!

Im here more than I should be, my strawberry smoothie is always on point, when I plan on staying a while I get their grill cheese which of course is perfect! Their staff and managment is great! 9 times out of 10 I dont even have to tell them what I want they just know! Very friendly and accommodating! If you havent been to cafe diem before, your missing out! Best coffee shop in Des Moines! Love to see more open!

Friendly service. I requested the house coffee blend with half decaf. They explained cold brew is better because the house blend on ice would be watered down. When I insisted that I didnt mind, they didnt hesitate or seem bothered by my preference for watered down coffee :) I hear the food is good, especially Belgian waffles? Havent had a chance to eat here yet though.

For me, this was a good place to go after a long day because the lighting is very dim and calming. My boyfriend lives 3 hours away from me and was getting ready to drive back home right after a long day with my family and I, so he needed some caffeine in his system and Cafe Diem was a perfect place for a goodbye date.

I love this place......The wifi is good, coffee is great, and staff is a perfect ten.. My only issue is sometimes the music is a little loud if your doing emails and need to jump on a call. And I can tel you they are not overpriced, especially if you compare to Starbucks...Best coffee shop in Ankeny by far........

Not only is this a close coffee shop (to my house), I think its one of the nicest. The ambiance and service are very well suited to a meeting, or just hanging out and reading, or leveraging their free wi fi to get some work done. This is my go to spot when Im in town.

Great place! They have more options then the big named coffee houses have. Plus the seating is great for socialising or studying, and the style is unique and hipster like. They do game nights once a week. Just a fun place in general

This place is ok. My girlfriend loves the rewards program. As for most coffee shops, I feel that they are over priced. The smoothies are good. Kitchen closes at 7pm :(, they dont have very many "hot" food choices.

Good Steamed Milk! I like steamed milk, and that can be kind of a challenge for some coffee makers. Ive not yet been disappointed. Also a great place to sit and read.
