WE PICKED THE BOATHOUSE (MISTAKE) TO BE A FINALE OF OUR RELAXING DAY OUT ON THE BOAT FISHING. WE HAD A GREAT DAY RELAXED AND THEN PROCEDED TO THE BOATHOUSE. WOW THE PLACE IS BEAUTIFUL, STEEPED IN HISTORY AND THE VIEW, WELL WHAT IS BETTER THAN A SUNSET OVER A BEAUTIFUL LAKE. MY WIFE WANTED TO SHOP IN THE ADJACENT TOURIST GIFT SHOP SO I DECIDED TO GET THE TABLE (BY THE WINDOW) I WAS SEATED BY VERY PLEASENT STAFF, AND THEN APPROACHED BY A VERY PLEASENT WAITSTAFF. I ORDERED TWO DRINKS AND TWO APPETIZERS, THEN THING STARTED TO SLIP. MY WIFE CAME TO THE TABLE AND WITHIN SECONDS THE WAITRESS SWOOPED DOWN TO THE TABLE AND ASKED MY WIFE IF SHE WANTED TO ORDER, MY WIFE HAD JUST OPENED THE MENU. MY WIFE QUCIKLY ORDERED AND THE WAITRESS BROUGHT THE APPETIZERS. I ORDERED THE SHIRIMP COCKTAIL AND WHEN IT ARRIVED THE SHRIMP WERE VERY SMALL AND THEY WERE ALSO VERY WARM. I TASTED THE SHRIMP THEY SMELLED AND TASTED OK BUT THEY WERE VERY WARM, NOT WHAT YOU EXPECT FOR A SHRIMP COCKTAIL. THE NACHO CHIPS @ $8.99 WERE DRIPPING WITH OIL AND HAD A STRANGE SMELL OF CINNANMON. WE ORDERED THE SHRIMP SCAMPI AND THE COCONUT BREADED SHRIMP THE ENTREE CAME AND THE SHRIMO SCAMPI WAS SO BLAND IT WAS HARD TO TELL WHAT IT WAS, NO GARLIC, NO FLAVOR. IT WAS JUST FOOD TO FILL US UP. THE COCNUT BREADED SHRIMP WAS BOX SHRIMP NO BETTER THAN FAST FOOD. WAITRESS STARTED TO NOW RUSH US, DIDNT BRING THE COFFEE WE ORDERED AND DROPPED THE CHECK WITHOUT ASKING IF WE WANTED DESSERT. WE STOPPED THE WAITRESS AND LOOKED AT THE DESSERT MENU STANDARD FARE OF BOXED ITEMS THAT YOU CAN GET ANYWHERE. WE DECIDED TO GET THE "PREMIUM PEPPERMINT ICECREAM" BIG MISTAKE THE ICECREAM HAD TO BE AROUND FOR MONTHS IT WAS OLD AND GRITTY A SIGNAL THAT IT IS TRULLY READY FOR THE GARBAGE CAN NOT THE CUSTOMER. THE FOOD AND SERVICE WAS A VERY BIG DISAPPOINTMENT, THE VIEW AND THE AMBIENACE WAS FIVE STAR, SO SAD SO MUCH GOING FOR THEM BUT NOT SOOO GOOD AT ALL.

I was in Warsaw for an event 2 years ago and remembered the Boat House being good, service and food. I went again with two others and this was our experience: -Seating was fast, server attentive -Too attentive as we received an order of pasta (overdone), chicken quesadillas, and salmon in less than 10 minutes of placing our order. Anybody who knows anything about cooking knows how crazy that is considering the amount of time it takes to make those items. -pasta wasnt just overdone (way past al dente), but swimming in some sort of cream based sauce. It was more like alfredo soup than a pasta dish. -vegetables in the salad were old, as in, the cucumbers had been sitting in water all day and were not crisp. Spinach was wilted. Onions cut the way they were belonged more on a hamburger. -ahi tuna must have come from a package looking the way it did. The cucumber salad that came w it looked sad. Cucumbers had been marinating too long and were not green, but brownish, as was the cilantro garnish on top. Overall, very bad quality for the price you pay and in need of a more ambitious kitchen staff.

The 2 stars are for the beautiful view on the patio and for the waitress. The food would rate a 1. We had the Boston Burger and fries both of which were very processed. The burger was a large thick square burger like it had been a frozen. For the price of $10.00 I expected a fresh burger and fries. The cheesecake with the brownie crust was good but was also a processed. After my friend and I split the cost of the cheesecake, our bill total was just under $14.00 + 3.00 tip for each of us (because it wasnt the watress fault the food was poorly made. We could have eaten at Culvers for half the price and had better food. Very disappointing.

Have eaten at the Boathouse many of times. I am taking a friends mother out for her birthday. I was told that the restraunt would lose money if we brought a very small cake for 4 people, so they charge 1.50 a person for the cake. My thought here is now I am dining somewhere else tonight because of this, how much will you lose now? Makes no sense to me. Great service, great food, definelty, but I never get dessert anyway. Very disappointed in the managers choice to charge someone on their birthday not a wise business choice if you ask me.

My wife and I had a wonderful lunch here a couple of years ago and plan to return for Valentines Day dinner. Our dining experience was the BEST we have ever had. The food was fantastic and our waitress was a student from Grace College and her time was incredble. We were both full but she suggested one of their deserts along with a cup of coffee and this put the icing on the cake! We later took a walk and took in some of the shops and bought a plant hanger with a beautiful stain glass topper. This dining experience is highly recomended!

I was told the French fries were awesome, they were apparently cooked in the same oil that the fish was as they had a fishy taste. The spinach queso dip was also disappointing. I agree with my wifes assessment, it was like concession stand nacho cheese with spinach pieces in it. To top it off our server treated our family like she wanted to be anywhere other than our table. She never introduced herself. It wasnt because she was overly busy as she was later standing around. Bad service.

Have been going here and taking visitors here since it opened. Best restaurant in the area. Never had bad food or service. Our favorites are the blackened salmon with blue cheese sauce and the red pepper pasta. But no one Ive taken there has ever complained about what they ordered and weve run the gamut from wraps to the Prime Rib. We love to sit on the porch but in the evening the sun on the water is hard to take so often we sit inside. Great view, either way.

Food was excellent. I had chicken breast stuffed with Brie cheese. It was covered in caramilzed apple slices, slivered almonds, apple butter cream sauce served over white rice. I think I will be able to make 3 meals out of my dinner. Server was so sweet. View of the lake was awesome. A place I would love to go to again. Thanks Victoria Pflueger for suggesting this place. Had a wonderful afternoon at Grace College visiting you.

Impressive flavors! Beautiful presentation on plates. Lovely atmosphere, some tables overlooking the lake. Some items a little pricey, but the flavor is so worth the price. You cant get these flavors just anywhere. Love the salmon with blue cheese sauce. The Pork Osso Bucco dish is flavorful as well as gorgeous.

The filet was cooked to perfection, and the Ginger Teriyaki Crusted Swai is to die for! Very reasonable prices, 3 of us ate one night for $100, and the next night for $70. Anyone that thinks the prices are high here is invited to go to Red Lobster and try to get out of there for less, yet eat as good!

So Very relaxing to watch the changing of the seasons depending on the weather. We enjoy setting on the screened in deck watching ducks swim by in fall, and watching beautiful sunsets in winter over the lake. Wonderful food, at a moderate price. Nice place to go for Special occasions.
