No Chicken at KFC The Kentucky Fried Chicken on Calumet Ave. in Valparaiso, Indiana has one major problem. I’m not talking about undercooked chicken ─ that would mean they would actually have chicken ready for customers to purchase. My brother and I go there every few weeks hoping we can actually get a chicken dinner, but only one out of five visits do we actually leave the restaurant with chicken. We both go in there to get the three piece extra crispy white meal which includes two breasts and one wing. The problem: they don’t ever have the breasts to give us. The person takes our order without checking to make sure they actually have the pieces in the cases to fill our orders. I actually witnessed a manager yelling at the cashier for not checking what she had in the case before taking our order. “We are currently out of those would you either like the grill or take dark meat instead?” we usually get asked. If I wanted grill or dark meat, don’t you think that what we would have asked for? On several occasions, including today, we ask for our money back and left. Two weeks ago when we stopped there and ordered the three piece chicken meal and actually got it; we drove home to discover that the young girl working there didn’t know the difference between a breast and a thigh since we got two thighs (which is dark meat not white) and a wing instead of two breasts and a wing. I now have to check the order thoroughly making sure I get the right pieces? I shouldn’t have to. Employees working at a fried chicken restaurant should be trained on how to tell the difference between the different types of chicken pieces. On one occasion they weren’t taking any orders for chicken at all since they completely ran out and were trying to get chicken from another location. You are a company dealing exclusively with selling fried chicken. How do you completely run out? Is the manager in charge of ordering product that incompetent that she neglects to order CHICKEN? And it never occurred to anybody working that day to put a sign on the front door that stated: We are currently out of chicken. We ever so often stop by in hope that the employees have gotten their act together and have chicken ready for when customers stop by wanting to eat chicken. Today was the final straw. I am never going back to KFC in Valpo ever again. I’ll go down the street to either Town & Country or Strack and Van Til were they are serious about selling fried chicken since selling fried chicken is one of the last concerns of Kentucky Fried Chicken in Valpo.

I am a shift supervisor at this KFC and can tell that all these bad reviews are from a long time ago. Since these bad reviews, a new general manager has taken over, and I have been transferred in from a different KFC, we have been working hard to clean the place up and teach our cooks proper procedure, yes we do run out of chicken every once and a while however thats not exactly our fault, we never know how big our dinner rush is going to be and sometimes we even have people ask how much chicken we have before ordering and take over half of it, we then have to scramble to try and get more chicken cooked which takes about 25 minutes to prepare and cook depending on how fast the cook is, and we only have one cook doing original, extra crispy, and grilled because the company wont let us have another cook. I encourage you all that have had bad experiences to give us one more chance to do right. Maybe we wont have exactly what you want and I sincerely apologize for that, but hopefully you come in on a day that were doing good. Also, I suggest coming through the drive thru because the company wants us to focus on drive thru so they only let us have one person on front counter, but two people on drive thru, then if we get a break from people in the drive thru then the two can help up front.

I was accused of lying by the Manager named Tabitha. I walked 20 minutes home and realized that one of the sandwhiches I ordered didnt have chicken. So I walked another 20 minutes back and brought the sandwich and receipt and explained what had happened. The young man working there asked if something was wrong and was very polite and we asked him if we could speak to his manager. The manager asked what time I came in and I handed her the receipt with the time to which she replied "Well I made these sandwhiches myself and I know I put chicken in these sandwiches", and she continued explaining to us how she remembered putting chicken in the sandwich with a condescending tone. I wasnt upset with the situation until the manager had an attitude with me and argued with me, accusing me of lying that there was no chicken in my sandwich. Then she took the receipt and made me a new sandwhich with extra potato wedges, which I appreciated. Then she had another employee bring us the sandwich and never even apologised, she just argued with me and accused me of lying. My brother and I did not walk 80 minutes total to be accused of lying because we didnt throw our hands up and mutter an "oh well" when we noticed the mistake with one of our entrees.

I decided to eat here the other day because I saw an online coupon for a discounted 8 piece meal. Much to my chagrin, the lady at the drive through refused the discount. She said that the franchise owner refuses to accept corporate coupons. Thats great and all, but if you dont want to accept corporate deals than dont use the name of a corporate franchise. The only reason I even drove to this crappy kfc was because I saw the coupon online. In retrospect I wish I would have gone to the one in Chesterton. At least the Chicken wouldnt have looked half eaten. And they have a and w root beer.

The workers was in back yelling laughing .. Which they should have been out cleaning . we had to wipe down our table before we sat down to eat .. Dont know if they was any manager there. Cause if he was he as not doing his job.. Wont be back to this kfc

Its unfortunate I have to give a star at all... The fee times I go there they are out of chicken products. Its not like I go there before they close. I go around 6-7 during weekdays and weekends, and have STOPPED going because they seem to always be out of chicken. Fault is on management. They are horrible. Fire them all and hire new ones that know how to order food.

Ordered at 5:48 its 6:15 still no food. This place sucks so bad. There are others ahead of me who have been here longer. One customer walked out because no one was at the register. Now theyre trying to give the wrong order to a couple of old ladies who have been here 40 minutes. Stay away, far away!
