Dear Meijer, I want to thank you for the specials today. Of course by 4pm, the store was basically out of the chicken, pork, and other meat deals. Honestly, I bet there were more stock, but we will get to why the bins were empty later. I see that you are hiring. I dont understand why? Are you hiring to help with the cleaning of the aisles? As customers, myself included had rolled through the puddles through two or more of them, which have obviously been there for hours as there were a plethora of track marks, some which had been there quite awhile. Could you be hiring for baggers, and attendants at the check out stations? Im guessing so since while I waited watching customers bag their items at a hurry up pace so they didnt clog up other people who had been waiting a long time apparently. As, im sure you can understand, it takes awhile to both put your things out of the cart and then bag them yourself. Personally, I bagged my own items while two of your employees just stood by talking to each other, which they had been since I waited in line maybe 15 minutes. I couldnt tell you how many times your employees had to actually stop talking to go help people that had to pretty much yell for help since no attention was being paid to the self check out area. Or are you hiring for more employees to stand around up front as they apparently rotated each other out with what was obvious smoke/text breaks that were on the clock. At one point in time I counted six employees standing around talking, walking in and outside, while customers bagged their own items in the regular lines, with customers having to voice to be helped on your self check out lanes that are specifically set up to notify the "attendants on duty" that help is needed. Maybe they are under paid, and over worked, which I could understand, and that falls on the management, which I never saw once. So for my trip, you get a 1 on cleanliness (seriously it was really dirty) 4 on prices (unfortunately they were out of most of the good ones), Management gets a -7 as they apparently have no control over their employees. Lastly, you get a -125 as in dollars, for that is what you have lost from me weekly as a customer. Thank you.

I like Meijer in general. This is probably my favorite in the greater Louisville area... but maybe for the wrong reasons. The design is pretty much a big box, but it has somewhat of a contemporary-retro design and color scheme (which most folks dont care about). I like it because it pleases my peeps. Other than that, its about the same as the others. Most folks familiar with Meijer agree that it is one of the best, freshest, and largest selections of produce in the area. Compared to other big boxes, and in addition to the awesome produce selection, I like this store for the entire selection of food in general... good variety. In particular, there is a great aisle of just international products. Also better than other big boxes, the selection of toiletries, cosmetics, and medical related items is larger than most. Surprisingly, they have a good selection of car audio accessories, mostly cables and connectors for installation. While sale items at Meijer are good and plentiful, regular prices can be high sometimes... ridiculously high... you really have to watch out. This is one of the negative things about the store. Other negative: The electronics department is lacking and the mens clothing seems to be behind a decade in style.

This is a very nice and fairly new Meijer. The grocery half of the store is exceptionally good. They offer two-three times the variety of most items compared to Kroger or Walmart. I like frozen pizza and most stores carry like digjorno and tombstone and not much else. Meijer has all kinds of odd cool brands you havent heard of and are almost always terrific. Also unlike Walmart their shelves in the rest of the departments arent ransacked and missing half of what your looking for and the check out line is always incident free unlike Walmart where you can usually expect an outraged customer or an incompetent cashier holding up your line. The only thing keeping it from a 5* rating is the fact that it is still basically a Walmart in principle. Even if it is a very nice one.

I love Meijers in general, but this particular store was very helpful finding products. Instead of just telling me what aisle they were in, they would physically show me. If they were out of something on the shelves they would check in the back. In the early hours while they were stocking the produce section, a wonderful man saw me looking at the avocados and suggested he had ones that just came in that would last longer than the ones I was looking at. I wanted some for the next couple days, but also for next week. He brought out a whole tray. They lasted over a week. I will continue to be a loyal customer, especially to this store. Thank you!

Meijer has simply gave up caring about customer service. They have shifted focus to self check outs and all but refuse to open normal check out lanes even during peak times. Meijer use to stand out among big box stores, now it simply is lost in the crowd. Product quality is hit or miss. Selection is generally good with a great produce area. The meat dept has nose dived on quality and selection. You will find some diverse things here that other grocery stores wont carry. Just prepare yourself for long lines at the checkout, no matter day or night your going to be waiting.

This place actually balances the perfect amount of cheap with the perfect amount of quality. The fact is that if you get good quality stuff to decorate your house with its heavy and lasts forever and honestly it usually last longer than what you wanted it to last because youre decorating or youre moving or youre doing something with the paint or whatever. You dont want to pay a ton of money for something that lasts too long. And you dont want to pay too little money like cheap stuff from Walmart. Because that stuff doesnt survive you putting it together once.

Good selection of items. I wish they would stop selling mice glue traps. I went to buy a regular trap but all they had were inhumane glue traps. Also only one check out line open and I had to wait almost 10 minutes to check out. Several workers just walked by and looked at me, not one offered to open a register. They should staff more registers and close some of the u scan lanes. Havent they figured out that most people hate those unless they only have just a few items???

For those of you complaining about bagging your own groceries, its called SELF checkout for a reason. Go to a traditional lane if its too much for you to put your things in a bag all alone. They are occasionally out of things that we are shopping for so thats an inconvenience but thats really my only gripe. The store is way better than Wal-Mart...employees are much more friendly and there is less riffraff in the store. The mPerks program saves us a lot of money every trip!

Very disappointed in meat department. We purchased ground beef and we planned on making it as soon as we got home. We cut through the beef and it was gray meat inside and red meat on the outside. They decided to cover up the the gray meat with some fresh red meat. Does Meijer think they fooling the consumers. I will NEVER purchase meat there again.
