WOW!!! I made the drive the first time because Ive known Susan Kitterman for years...Ill be making the drive the second/third/fourth/fifth (etc) time because this is the best donut shop Ive ever experienced. The staff was incredibly pleasant and helpful, they have EXCELLENT coffee (a weakness of some other independent bakeries), and the baked goods are unbelievably decadent. If you are a fritter fan, you have found heaven. If you love cake donuts (of any variety), look no further. It didnt hurt that I visited the bakery on a crisp fall morning with the sun just peeking over the horizon, but my first experience here was truly memorable. Thank you!!

THE most AWESOME bakery youll find in a small town! Excellent coffee pairs with excellent freshly made baked goods* of ALL sorts --- EVEN beautiful, tasty macrons..yum! The apple fritters are as big as a face, stay fresh FOR DAYS, if, like me, you dont wolf down your food! If you need to visit the BMV, take a drive to the McCORDSVILLE branch (crazy fast!), then when done, treat yourself to a snack at Sunrise Bakery in Fortville and buy for the WEEK! You WONT regret it! A small bakery that most def will bring sunshine to your week! (Sorry. Couldnt resist! ;o) *Read daily from scratch -- dough isnt "trucked in" from points elsewhere like Panera does

Great selection,great service. I would like to suggest a different frying oil or perhaps changing the oil more frequently. I detect and aftertaste. Also, the icing should be thicker and not so runny. What makes me think Im an expert? I used to work for Dunkin Donuts back in the day when they actually made them instead of shipping them in frozen.

They have the best selection of doughnuts around. They arent too sweet like a lot of places. They also have turnovers, danishes, fritters the size of your head in blueberry, apple, and cherry, and delicious coffee. This is my guilty pleasure every Saturday morning. My sons favorite are the blueberry cake doughnuts.

Very yummy donuts! Plenty of variety to choose from, so unless you hate donuts you are sure to find something to enjoy. A small model train layout is in the lobby, and some antique signage adds to the decor. Friendly and cheerful staff make coming here a pleasure.

Sunrise Bakery is the kind of place you see in movies. The atmosphere is cozy, the staff is friendly, the donuts are delicious and the locals congregate! I always order the fritters. The apple are my favorite, but the blueberry ones come in at a close second!
