OK, this is the best restaurant in M.C.. Thats hard for me to say because its a "pizza place" its very specialized, almost like an ice cream stand or something but I can say, without question, its the best food in M.C. The kitchen is laboratory clean room clean, great! The dining room is spotless as are the bathrooms. The place screams tidiness which is rare for the area. The service is great. The people are very friendly the owners are quick to chat and welcome new comers and regulars personally and with genuine conversation. The service is pretty polished, with most of the wait staff having been there for multiple years. The pizza are the bomb! People who complain about the char dont understand that is part of the charm. It is called a char, not a burn, there is actually a big difference. Trust me people, there is a reason this place has made the news all over, in print, T.V. etc. and its NOT because they burn their pizzas. The salads are awesome, albeit huge, but very nice to split between 2-4 people, no problem. I love all the pizzas, the Marg is how I start, then a sausage, a prosciutto, a mushroom and I cant forget the parm pizza. Oh boy... getting hungry writing this! They often have some very creative and tasty specials too, pear gorgonzola, morel pizzas, etc. The homemade gelatos are always a great way to end a meal. My personal favs are the pistachio and coffee but the hazel nut is a close runner up. Keep up the great work Stop 50, we love ya!

It is way off the beaten path. We discovered this place looking for pizza on Google. Now it is a favorite. Nice atmosphere and view of the wood oven. Also there is a good patio area. The service is always great and friendly. It is not chain pizza. It is a light thin crust with a variety of toppings. They always have seasonal offerings for a fresh adventurer. We always enjoy one off the menu. It has prosciutto, pistachios, mozzarella with rosemary. No tomato sauce just Extra Virgin olive oil. They do offer a plain pepperoni as well. The Firecracker is a must have spicy creamy dip paired with the crispy fire roasted bread sticks. Prices are reasonable.

I dont eat pizza nor any starches, but I was told how good the place was and tried it anyhow. The roasted vegetables ($9) and fire-roasted sausage-stuffed peppers ($9) were first-class appetizers. The $10 salad was very large and was fantastic - straight out of a local garden! Nice light oil-based sweet dressing was a perfect compliment. I was so pleased with quality of the food that Chris, the owner, talked me into one of his homemade gelato desserts (2 scoops $4). I had the vanilla and pistachio - both phenomenal - and my friend let me try the chocolate and coffee. I liked the coffee but dont like chocolate, but I bet you would!

Ive been a fan of this place for a while. They have the best pizza in the Michiana area. Its a phenomenal crust. This last trip was a bit disappointing however. I had their vegetarian pizza which had been good in the past but was less flavorful—the sauce seemed a bit less plentiful and the veggies didnt have much flavor. Also, I question the seasonal vegetables here sometimes; they often arent too flavorful for a pizza. Yellow beans certainly arent a great choice —not much flavor and really need a quick blanching to make them not seem raw. Im be back but Ill be more selective in the future.

We were in from, out of town in August. We came without reservations and didnt have the time to wait, they are busy. We made reservations for the next day and are we glad we did. This is the best brick oven pizza I have ever had and all 4 in our party were extremely pleased with their pizzas as well. As some have mentioned it does cost more than Pizza Hut, but there is no comparison. This is like comparing McDonalds to your favorite steakhouse burger, they are not the same thing. Awesome stuff! Make Reservations!

Wanted to love it.... But awful. Place was totally packed. The bf and i had to make an excuse to leave early. told them to box up the pizza as we had to get going since we live out of state didnt want to be insulting, but pizza had a horrible charred taste. even the breadsticks were barely edible. everything with this dusting of black/gray char on the bottom. im sure it woud be a great place if they didnt burn stuff. the waitstaff was friendly but we made a quick exit...

Love the parmigana or however you spell it. the first time we had it it was awesome the onions were shaved really thinly. But every time since then weve had it and the house salad the onions have been cut thick and its just not pleasant to get a huge onion in your mouth. But we will totally love the place and just wish that they would cut their onions more thinly and it would be perfect. Aside from their delicious pizza the breadsticks and how salads are really good.

We had the mushroom pizza and it was delicious as was the salad. The outdoor seating is cozy and is surrounded by stone wall planters which are filled with not only flowers, but basil, parsley, rosemary and lavender plants. Price of the specialty pizzas are little high so I wont frequent as often, but I will definitely go back.

Well, this place is pricy, but something has to pay for the wood they use. The pizza here is incredible and they seem to use mostly cherry tree wood, which gives an excellent flavor to the crust. If youre driving by and like pizza, stop here. Its just that simple, but be prepared to pay more than you would for cheap chain pizza.

Food was tasty, staff was great and atmosphere was nice. Only complaint is that the pizzas are very light. One person could easily eat 2 pizzas. We had 3 people, ordered 2 pizzas and everyone was still a little hungry when we left. So if youre looking to fill up, go somewhere else, but this would be a great date spot.

We came up to Michigan City for a day trip. We wanted something different and came upon Stop 50. Where we live there isnt anyplace to get wood fired pizza. Very fresh ingredients and tastes very, very good. The staff is friendly and informative. We will definately be back the next time we are in the area!

I was here with my family. The woman who seated us (I wish I learned her name) was very friendly. And the food was great. My children never try new things and I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that they ate the food with no questions asked. The bathrooms were so clean also. I was very impressed!

It is almost a 5. Our pizzas were a little on the dry side. I love neopolitan pizza. Theres a place in Goshen we love. This place is very similar. The peach and prosciutto was excellent. The firecracker appetizer was great, I loved the goat cheese. Very neat place in a beautiful area.

Pizza was good and flavorful. We ordered 2 for a family of four along with breadsticks. Crust was too thin and my husband was still hungry after we left. Prices were a bit high, so we wont be visiting often. Server was attentive and the owners are very friendly.
