Salty! Was there for lunch - chicken (dark), mac and cheese, and green beans- plus the fried "cornbread" sitting on a plate of onion slices??? The star was the chicken which could have been more moist, but was good though very heavily seasoned. This is the theme of ALL their food. Mac and Cheese was just fair, definitely have had better.. even I have made better and I am a guy. Lots of salt again PLUS lots of pepper?? Freckled mac and cheese maybe?? The green beans was southern style which is fine with me as I am southerner by birth. BUT, oh my, they were heart stopping over seasoned with SALT. Doesnt anyone taste this food before they serve it? The pie was good, maybe just glad to not have more salt. Server was cute but not experienced, forgetful and had to be reminded over and over to bring something. My wife asked for catchup and only got it as she finished her meal - the server was reminded TWICE. She said she was going to go to college. YOU GO GIRL! PLEASE. To be fair she was the only server in this large place, this is a management failure. We drove almost twenty miles to get here to eat with our church group. Frankly I do not want to go back for the food. Pie yes and maybe the iced tea, however forget everything else. The Iron Skillet will serve you better!

HORRIBLE. Family of 7 went to Mississippi Belles on Sunday, Marc 8 2015. We arrived and were seated almost immediately The only thing HOT were the Yams. The Dressing was not flavored and cold; Fried Chicken, Hot Water Corn Bread was cold and we only had a SPOT of gravy with the dressing. I ordered Smothered Chicken it was cold and not very well seasoned. The Mac & Cheese was soupy and cold. Bland. they have either changed cooks or the way of doing things. Our waitress NEVER offered us refills on anythng but drinks. We were planning to visit on Easter Sunday. Dont if we want to take a chance. For the amount of money spent I and the guest were not please. Even my grandchildren, ages 4 and 7 complained.

When you a southern girl & move to Indy & have to find a place that remind you of HOME!! My first time visiting here was with a friend girl I told her I wanted some soul food when I was pregnant she named a few but when she mentioned MISSISSIPPI I knew then it had to be some southern people in there. I was born & raised in Greenwood, MS. When we pulled up to Mississippi Belle just the smell of the food reminded me of home. The food smell & taste so good make ya wanna slap ya mama!!

Amazing food, great atmosphere, incredibly friendly staff. Their fried chicken is phenomenal, as is their catfish. Food is served family style with every person choosing their own meat and the group selecting four sides. The hot water corn bread was an unexpected treat, soft on the inside and crispy on the outside with a touch of sweetness throughout. The food here is definitely the main attraction, and our entire party loved their dishes.

The place is awesome! The service is always with good ol "southern hospitality". Big Mama (Waitress) is super awesome! I ask for her every time I go!! The food is always fresh and hot and very VERY flavorful!! HAVE NEVER had a bad experience here. They only cash, they would probably make a lot more money if they took debit/credit cards, but I dont care. They are so good, I dont mind making the extra trip to an ATM before arriving!

I didnt even get to taste the food. I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and it was atrocious. There was wet toilet paper all over the floor, a home soap pump that looked old and filthy and they had paper towels which were gone and a cloth towel thing and it was broken and laying on the dirty wet floor. If thats how they keep the bathroom, Id hate to see the kitchen. I came out and told my husband I wanted to leave right then

The first thing to know is that they only take cash. The second thing to know is that this is definitely a place you need to visit. Soul food is the order of the day, which ranges from fried fish, chicken, and the ribs that I ordered. I didnt finish the sides (Mac & cheese, collard greens) pictured, but that had to do with the generous portions. Price is definitely worth it, which is probably a function of them being cash only.

Lunch ribs with collards & sweet potatoes is a delicious plate. Sweet tea was great too! Quality homestyle food and friendly staff. Sounds like dinner is all you care to eat but even with my big appetite the lunch plate was already about all I could eat. Between sweet potatoes and sweet tea it was a little too much sugar, so probably would have had one or the other thinking back on it. Thanks for the great lunch with friends!

The fried fish had the best breading Ive ever tasted, and the mashed potatoes were to die for. Not much for vegetarians, lol...as a piscatarian (fish but no other meat), I had the fried fish, fried corn, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes without the gravy, fried cornbread, and avoided the green beans which mustve been prepared with pork. No idea whether I ate meat products or not because I didnt ask the staff. =P

Some of the best southern comfort food in town, everything on the menu is not only delicious, but well priced with good sized portions. Lunch is a good amount of food for an individual, and the dinners are family-style all-you-can-eat. Everyone who works there is always friendly and has a big smile on their face, making the Belle one place you dont want to miss.

My husband is originally from Mississippi and always complain about how he never really get that down south home cooking like his grandmother used to make him and when I recommend this place to him it drove him crazy how good and southern this place was. It was wonderful every thing was delicious and down home and very nice and hot I recommend this to any one

Why have I not tried Mississippi Belle before? Miss Dee provided fast, warm and friendly service. We had the fried pork chops and pan-fried chicken, which were tender, juicy, and PERFECTLY seasoned. The mac-n-cheese was to-die-for! You will not leave hungry or dissatisfied. I highly recommend Mississippi Belle!

Rude ignorant staff. Since I have to deal with them Ill find somewhere else to go. Being ignored at the counter is not what I want to go through when I come to pick up my food. Be prepared to be ignored while the weave wearing heifer text on her phone. Youve lost my business Mississippi belle.

This place was amazing and Im leaving stuffed. The sweet potatoes were amazing! I could eat those just for the meal. The servers and workers were friendly and welcome you in like you were family. But remember its cash only people! I would happily make a trip to an atmosphere to eat here

I really had my self hyped about trying this place maybe I came on the wrong day. The chicken was bland and cold. The greens and Mac were tasteless. The hot water corn bread was excellent. If I go back I will try the ribs and 2 different sides. I hope to have a better experience.
