Classic Holland Breakfast eats. Hearty portions, strong coffee, and good service. Can get busy at times with a line out the door after church on Sunday, but it moves along pretty quick. Love their homemade bread. Love their hashbrown omelette (get it with extra ham, trust me.) All my friends enjoy their cinnamon roll which is huge, but I dont have much of a sweet tooth. Also its an unwritten Hope college tradition to roll into the windmill at 5am if youve managed to stay up after a late night partying. Late enough where the people who are too drunk just fall asleep, and early enough that people who are tired can get some grub in their stomach and catch a few hours of sleep before an 8 or 9 am class.

Friendly family-owned and operated restaurant that I have been going to for many years. There is only one thing on the menu that I will ever order: the hashbrown omelet, with homemade wheat toast. It is what The Windmill is known for, and it is an incredible amalgamation of potatoes, cheese, bacon (or sausage), and onions (if thats your persuasion). The homemade toast is also incredible. The line going out the door when its snowing outside is pretty much almost always worth it.

Love love love the Windmill! Have been coming here for nearly 20 years, and even though we moved out of state a decade ago, its a required stop every time we come back to Holland. Terry and Karen do an amazing job, and Mel has been treating us right since day 1. Hashbrown omelet is unparalleled, and Ive looked high and low for a comparable corned beef hash and swiss omelet and cannot find one. Well worth the typical 15-30 minute wait on a weekend!

Awesome food and service. Cozy restaurant on 8th street in downtown Holland. Come hungry because the pancakes that my kids got were gigantic and the hash brown omelet I had was more than I should have eaten and I got the mini. Ask for hot sauce as they have many different bottles to try. You wont be disappointed here.

This place is fantastic! The food is good and the service is excellent. He reminds me of a diner more than a restaurant. Weve only gone for lunch so far but we will be regulars for life. Its a small restaurant so get there early during busy times. Its even beautifully decorated for Christmas. Love it!

Cozy little downtown restaurant. My friends and I went for their breakfast and were impressed by their hearty omelettes and mega cinnamon rolls. Good coffee and excellent bacon. 14/10 would recommend to a friend

Pretty good place. We just had a cheese and bacon omelette with hasbrowns, sausage gravy and biscuits, and we had to try their homemade cinnamon roll. They over did it on the icing, but it was good.

Prices are very reasonable. The lunch food was good, but nothing spectacular, though Im told their breakfast food is better. The cinnamon roll we ordered was decent, but a little rubbery.

Delicious homemade bread and great diner food and experience. Delicious baked goods, generally. Seating can be confusing if it gets crowded, basically just a line for who gets seated next.

Windmill is the best place for breakfast on all of Holland. A must visit, this landmark restaurant serves breakfast and lunch. Try the hashbrown omelet, their most famous dish.

Great homecooking place with excellent value weekday specials. Fun atmosphere downtown too. Depending on the time, it can be quite busy so be ready to wait for a table.
