NOT KIND TO (vegan/vegetarian) CUSTOMERS. HARASSED BY HIBACHI COOK. FOOD BAD. My husband and I went for our two year wedding anniversary, and we left livid. I myself am vegan, whereas my husband is mostly pescatarian, and we love Japanese food. We have never had an issue anywhere until we tried Osakas restaurant. First, aside from my being harassed by a man Ive never met before, whos only job is to cook the food I paid an OBSCENE amount for ($55 for two hiachi meals? Way better places around the area than Osaka)... THE FOOD WAS BAD. -Drenched the rice in soy sauce -Soaked everything he cooked in tons of butter and oil -Shrimp was undercooked/bad? Hubby says it tasted like dirty water...? To which he then had a terrible stomach ache the rest of the night. -Noodles were greasy and tasted... different -Salad was drowning in ginger sauce, to the point where it was inedible. I asked for steamed rice instead of fried rice, and my request was ignored. Next, as the cook was serving out the main dish (i.e. for my husband, it was shrimp), and I told him I wasnt going to pick off my husbands plate for his shrimp, he noticed my order was just veggies. He then continued to harass me about how I "should eat cows because theyre vegetarians" and "if (I) eat cows, Im just eating vegetables, since theyre vegetarians". He continued to laugh and make jokes at my expense even after he surely noticed I wasnt laughing and was just staring at him in disbelief, shaking from anger. He went on still, after a couple minute break (when I thought he was done...) to CONTINUE TO HARASS ME for my lifestyle... "you wont eat a cow, but youll drink their milk?" He didnt have any smart comments after I told him I dont, in fact, drink cows milk. In the end, after all his taunts, he would not stop until I actually glared at him... but even then he just laughed and gave a half-assed apology ("Oh. Sorry, maam. I was just joking"). NEVER... have I felt so uncomfortable and alienated in a restaurant before. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Not only was the food mediocre, but the service was down-right DISRESPECTFUL.

This was the worst. overpriced Hibatchi meal. They rushed us in and rushed us out. The chef couldnt wait to get out of here. I had to hound the lady for our three drinks, two beers and an Ice tea. The ice tea was way too sweet, so we wanted some unsweet tea poured in it, but she never came back, we never did get our water. We finished our beer and wanted another one, but the waitress never came back. Our food was ordered the minute we sat down, and on our plates before the drinks came. We ate our food and not even were we finished our meal was the bill on our table. Not offered desert or anything. We were in and out in less than 30 minutes for three people at a hibatchi table and the place wasnt even busy. There was another couple sitting at our hibatchi table, so five in total. And they had bad service too. They didnt make enough food for all of us and really skimped on the hibatchi fixings. The bill was outrageous for what we had for three people.

Ive had great hibachi here in the past, never a fan of anything else here. Went last night with my wife, even paid for a extra vegetables and the amount our party recieved was a joke. Very very little potions this time. Usually everything is cooked seperate but it was such little portions my plate was empty for 5 monies before anything else was added. My wife and I had over a $120 bill and went home hungry. We almost stopped somewhere else on the way home! The wait staff and cook were great, its a good thing because they automatically charged 20%on to the bill

I will never return to this place. Today we walk in around 10 pm (the hours by the door clearly says they are open until 11 Fridays and Saturdays) there were 2 people by the counter the guy told us they were still open but the rude "lady" said NO, she said they close at 10:15. When i said the sign by the door says different she replyed very mean and told us it was wrong that they close at 10:15 everyday. Please refrain to going to this place. The costumer service is bad. i wouldnt had mind if she would have told us nicer but she was just plain rude.

Love this place! My sister and I went here for a ladies lunch. We sat in the sushi area and got to watch them make our sushi, which was really cool. I ordered the chicken teriyaki lunch special and the Philly roll. The chicken was flavorful. It comes with a ton of sides. There were veggies, rice, fruit, and dumplings with it. I ordered the Philly roll because our server recommended it. The salmon was so fresh. It was really a good choice. The server was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. All in all, it was a nice lunch for a nice price.

We enjoy the Japanese Hibachi experience. On vacation we like to try at least one in the area. Osakas menu is well rounded. The food was prepared to our liking and very tastee. All the staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. The Chef was entertaining and professional. The pricing was typical of what we have found else where. The one point that stood out for me was the decor. It has been the most tastefully decorated restaurant that I have visited. Thank you Osaka for a great experience.

Really loved Osaka on a recent trip to Destin! Lots of variety in both drinks and food choices and great service. The sushi was yum, fresh and tasty. Highly recommend the cocktails as well. I had something pink and fruity...although I cant recall the name now, but I guess thats the sign of a good drink. Didnt try the hibachi side, but maybe if I hit Destin again and if I can convince myself not to go for the sushi again (Thatll be a hard call). I will defnitely be back when Im in town.

My girlfriend and I have been to the Osaka in Tallahassee, so we decided to try the one in Destin when we were in town recently. The hibachi chef we had was very entertaining, the food quality was just as fresh and delicious as it is in Tallahassee, and we tried the sushi and saki here as well, and that was very, very good. Well presented and fresh. Good service too. I got the filet and lobster for us, and we split it. There was plenty to share, and we were more than pleased.

SCAMMERS!! The write in fine print on their menu parties of 6 or more get charged 18%. If you miss seeing the service charge on your bill, they refuse to refund any additional tip you might have left ON TOP of the service charge. I never have a problem tipping fairly. However, they were unfair to force my hand and make me tip 40% additional to my bill. If a manager is not willing to work with you to correct that, they dont deserve your business. SCAMMER ALERT!

My steak, shrimp & scallop hibachi dinner was overcooked and overpriced. $45 for what tasted like a microwaved meal. The sushi was adequate, but sub-par compared to what we can usually find. It was at least priced decent (for the area). The only shining light was the seafood salad (sushi & cucumber). It was well seasoned and delicious. Oh, the staff was very nice and accommodating. This is the only reason they got the 2nd star.
