One star is a bit of an overstatement. This restaurant does not even deserve the one star that I am forced to give it, however, I will continue on as there is not a lower rating available. Your first time walking into A Taste of India, you see what looks to be a well laid out, clean facility. Upon the waiter arriving at your table, you begin to feel a little iffy about the situation, as obviously, the service will not be great. If you are like us, you first order an appetizer to get a feel and a taste of what lies ahead of you. The appetizer seems to be decent, but you can tell that some, if not most, of the food is frozen. We decided to continue on and try the buffet (bad idea). Not only was the buffet small, but it was full of frozen, barely warmed, dry, and mushy food (and not in any way I have ever wanted to try), but you could also tell that everything was made from purely frozen ingredients and may have been left sitting on the buffet for hours at a time. The service was worse than anything I have ever experienced before. We did not receive refills unless we asked and only saw the waiter twice in our hour and half visit. It took a good 20 minutes for the waiter to even come to take our order for our drinks. The entire time we were there, he was pressing us to spend more and more money on the not-so-good frozen entrees they call a meal. We had initially purchased a gift certificate, which looked like a great idea. It was a rip off, to say the least. With this deal, you spend $37.50 and get $25 off of your entire bill. Making your meal cost roughly $13. This was not the case. When they took our coupon to ring us up and bring the receipt, they had added an 18% gratuity fee onto the bill. Nowhere on our coupon was there anything saying they would receive an 18% tip, nor did they deserve anywhere near the $7 they got away with. When approaching them about the issue, they pulled out a crinkled old coupon that was most definitely not the one we had brought in and showed us where the "mandatory" 18% gratuity was located on the coupon. Not wanting to raise a commotion but still doubtful, we went home to check the website where we printed our coupon. There was nothing mentioned about any sort of tip, besides reminding us to tip the waiter (a small ad on the side of the coupon). So, all in all, the food was terrible, the service was awful, and the restaurant (if you can even call it a restaurant) is a total scam, a rip off, and full of a bunch of lying scam artists. I would not advise eating here unless you want to go home to sore stomachs and the knowledge that your money was stolen straight out of your pocket, wallet, or wherever you have chosen to store the money that SHOULD have be yours to spend.

Horrible, horrible crooked owners. We bought a certificate to used it at their restaurant. Owner said there were rules(as he called it)...number 1, 2 and 3 conditions, which were NOT noted in the certificate. alleging they didnt known about it, then he turn around saying that they can honor it, if we came back NEXT time with the same certificate in paper arguing that this companies just want money and that I needed to do what he demanded in order for him to honor it. I ask...what? Come again? ...It didnt make any sense, he was irritated and sputtering broken english .. so I just told the wife ...forget about the certificate just charge it and I handed my c. c. ) but he continue repeating himself. SO I said... the company you have the contract with HAS the app for you to redeem it with your own fingers right now from any android phone YOU just have to click it. By the way we called the company to find out how works before we got there)... Terrible food and service. ( No wonder both owners just stood up behind the counter starring, talking and pointing at customers the whole time. We asked for a second drink the women looked at us annoyed. Sooooo uncomfortable and odd.) Never Ever will come back here. I am extremely disappointed and upset with this business that think that they can disrespect, laugh and lie to customers having food well overpriced.

Save yourself!!! One of the worst Indian restaurant I have ever been in entire USA. We entered this restaurant at around 5 pm thinking we will have some appetizers and tea. First of all, the server had loads of attitude issues. Secondly the food we wanted to order was not available - I shared this experience with a few friends of mine and they experienced the same. Thirdly, the ridiculous concept of per person MUST spend minimum $8 was the most ridiculous concept I have ever experienced. We walked out from the restaurant. I was in no mood to argue, hence I left quietly. The restaurant was dingy, stinking and the tables were sticky because of dirt. I have had a travelling job all over USA and being to numerous Indian restaurants, never ever I felt so bad!

This place is Worst place ever. Food was horrible. Service was bad, owner was very rude. We ask for extra dish and she told us to keep food in hand because they do not provide extra dish in the dinner!. Owners kids were playing around. All the food we ordered was cold and look like they served something leftover from yesterday. I think we spoil our money as well as dinner of my relatives who came from out of town. I hope google give the option for ZERO star because this place do dont deserve any star in any service at all. I think if any one want to eat INDIAN food should go to the TAJ restaurant on the jefferson point because horrible dinner with horrible service with lot of attitude will spoil your family dinner.

Many of my friends said food is not good over here, I still had some confidence to try out then realized what they said was right. I have never had such bad Indian buffet elsewhere. Owners, please take some steps to improve the quality and taste of food. Few food is clearly visible that it is not cooked on the same day but atleast 2-4 days before. (unless the day when it was cooked). I have never seen a place with handwritten bills! Will never suggest this place to anyone until I hear something is changed. This is the first buffet ever in my life I walked out with hunger. I am sure good reviews in this post should be either people who went on the day when food was cooked or the owners themselves.

Not authentic Indian food. Old food, bad customer service ! Pushy sales to buy more food than required! Ask them whether the quantity is enough to for a family of two, then will always say no and make you to buy more quantity!. You can see all meat items in the buffet is cooked at least few days before. Biriyani was kind of rice mixed with chicken curry :). People who dont know what is Indian food may be satisfied. I would say this is not anywhere near to Indian food. yet if the customer care is good i would go, but that is also bad. Drive few miles to Indy or Chicago and find a good Indian restaurant. You will see the difference and what is Indian Cuisine.
