The bad reviews I see on here really confuse me...I have eaten here atleast 30 times. It is one of my favorite restaurants! Its always clean, i love every single thing on the menu, and the workers there are really nice and helpful if you dont understand what some of the stuff is on the menu. Its the most authentic Cajun food youll be able to find around. Everything is homemade, the cooks grew up in Louisiana and definitely know what true cajun food tastes like. I highly suggest trying this restaurant out. The red beans& rice is amazing! Also the shrimp etouffee and crawfish casserole are my other favorites. You must must must try the hush puppies! Theyre soooo good!

Unfortunately there arent enough Cajun choices on the north side of indy, luckily we have Mudbugs. My standard order is the catfish or chicken poboy with hush puppies, if I am feeling hungry I will also get some dirty rice. Dont confuse Mudbugs with Yats, they are very different to me. Be sure to try out the salts and spices, we stock both in our kitchen cabinet now. The beignets are very good, very light and airy. They remind me of an elephant ear.

I have thorough enjoyed everything I have tried at this place (when we went the first time they gave us a "Sampler" that had most everything on it so I can safely say I enjoy pretty much everything.) The hush puppies are to die for. Also the owner is really nice and easy to talk to. We had a nice conversation about how he and his wife started up the place and he followed up our meal with a complimentary dessert. I recommend!

Ive had just about everything and every time I get something new I think, "whoa, this is really good." Jambalaya, Courtbouillon, Gumbo are all delicious and made with love. People are super cool and laid back. Bonus points for carrying those incredible Cajun Power products. Shoot, even the simple things like the bread and potato salad are bangin!

Tasty food and pleasant service in a clean facility! Unlike my coworkers, I cannot do spicy food, but I had the pork and rice dish, and it was just right for me (a little kick). They have spicier dishes and various hot/garlic sauces for those who are not wimps like me. Ive been to Yats and Papa Roux, but they dont compare. I like this one the best.

Went in in a Wednesday night after dinner rush. I ordered a shrimp po boy and gumbo or something similar. I was there almost 30 minutes before I got my food. No explanation as to why it took so long. No apologies for it taking so long. I understand that the shrimp needed cooked. But 30 minutes to fry shrimp? I wont be going here again.

Went here with my girlfriend and the guy we ordered the food from was pretty nice! Ended up having a conversation with him that extended until the time we left! Food is pretty good and the lunch serving sizes are definitely enough to make you full! I heard the crayfish come in spring so Ill definitely plan on making a trip back then!

Ok I love this place but I think they really need to tweek the menu just a bit. Like add more crawfish selections!!!! For cajun food I give it a 6. The hushpuppies??? Um YUMMMMO! Pulled pork... wayyy too salty and all the rice tastes the same and kinda boring. Like box stuff. But loved the crawfish cassarole and the staff rocks!

Best Cajun food in Indiana from a Louisiana émigré who does everything right. Owner learned it was my first time in his restaurant, so he brought me a small sampler plate of all his entrées from that day. Highly recommended. Be sure to try "Uncle Easys Chipotle Sauce" which is available behind the counter. Just ask for it.

This place is a ripoff! They offer you a "trio" for $9.99. This is basically a sampler with more rice than entrée. However, if you get a sandwich then there is a $3.00 upcharge. I got exactly three overcooked chewy oysters in my "po-boy." I went there again. This time I upgraded to the shrimp "po-boy." Same result!

Mudbugs is by far my favorite place to eat. The food quality is far above wonderful, and I always get an extra side of hushpuppies. :) The employers have always been friendly and well attentive, but not invasive. The only cons are the prices are high and I drive a 15 passenger van so parking is a problem.

Clean and cozy cafe, with some pretty decent Cajun cuizine! Very well priced on its dishes - and the spices and culinary techniques used to create them are spot on. About as good of a true gumbo example you will find anywhere - looking forward to trying other dishes in the future.

Food was fantastic. Recommended to me by a born and bred Cajun and it did not disappoint. My wife is from South Texas and gets pretty good Cajun and she loved it, as well. Staff was beyond nice. We will be returning every chance we get. Well worth the hour+ drive.

We love it! Im a big fan of red beans and rice and the beignets. And I love the atmosphere. Its so fun to eat while looking at the New Orleans and Cajun posters -- and the cans of chicory coffee from Cafe du Monde! Plus its on Main Street in Downtown Carmel.

Typically this place is excellent. However, today I got the chicken and sausage jambalaya and there was almost no meat in it. My friends had a similar experience with their dishes. Im not sure if we were unlucky or if Mudbugs is cutting back.

We were stuck in town and stopped in during a snowstorm... this place is great. I have lived in New Orleans, and the food and service here does not disappoint. Make sure to order some beignets. We will definitely be back.

I love this place! Ive been a regular for the last six years or so. The food and staff are wonderful. My favorite dish is the gumbo with a little Louisiana gold, some hushpuppies, and for dessert those delicious beignets.

As one who grew up in Louisiana, I missed getting to enjoy a meal with a Creole flair. Then I discovered Mudbugs! Really good Cajun cooking, made Hoosier-friendly!
