My husband and I took my sister and brother-in-law to sobro for brunch and had the worst experience. The service was slow and neglectful. The food was tasteless, cold and stale. It had obviously been sitting in the kitchen and forgotten about... For almost an hour while we waited, although the restaurant wasnt very busy. My sister asked for butter to spread on her toast and our waiter brought us a cup of melted butter. She then asked For regular solid butter so her toast wouldnt get soggy and over buttered and the waiter told her that they only had melted butter... So thats either laziness, a lie, or a health code violation. Im not a complainer, nor am I a difficult person, but Id have to give sobro a thumbs down. Bad service and bad food. There are many better healthy, gluten-free, vegan options in the broadripple area.

Stand out special spot! Service, quality, and quantity cannot be beat. Vegetarian/vegan options everywhere on the menu and they all taste delicious. I have had a particular addiction to the corn fritters and chai latte (which they are famous for). Very cozy atmosphere as it only seats about a couple dozen patrons inside and a few more 4top tables outdoors. Cant go wrong with any of the dutch pannekoeken or the soups! I think the chicken salad sandwich is absolutely perfect and I never order chicken salad out. Then there is brunch, which gets busy for good reason. The menu changes slightly and some of the best items are available only on Saturday and Sunday. Sure to please and draw you in again, as SoBro did to me, to try something new and order the same favorites!

Eh!! Not a terrible place to eat if you havent been. The location is great for northsiders and the ambience is good too. But, the parking sucks!! The food isnt that great and they are way overpriced for what they offer. Not to mention the sheer amount of time it takes for them to bring it out to you. I think this is a good place to bring out of town friends looking for something semi unique and time to talk. Otherwise... I wont go back here until they add food to their menu, lower their prices and speed up the service. *** So I lied! We came back and it was better. Menu still recognizable, but the food had a better overall taste and was quite delicious.***

The new Sobro Cafe is awesome! Just had their grand opening event on 11/22/2011. Great art on the walls. Interesting and fantastic menu to choose from. Interesting and really good sandwiches, Thai coconut soup that was great, they had sweet and savory pancakes that Ill definitely have to try next time I visit. Great selection of local beers and great music. Service was excellent and I loved my server. This place is as comfortable as being served in my own living room. Good food and even open late Friday and Saturday nights! Im definitely going to keep going back! We needed something like this in town

Had Sunday Brunch at the Sobro Cafe. It was acceptable food. The biscuits and gravy were not so good that if I had friends from out of town I would drag them there to make sure they got to experience the delicious morsels of biscuit and gravy... They were just so so. The ketchup was home made... or if it wasnt they added a few table spoons of a simple sugar solution to some Heinz 57 and called it a day. The ketchup was sweet and runny and off putting in a way to dip the home fries in. I had heard good things about the restaurant before visiting... it is pretty good... but is a shade above ordinary.

I have some big food issues, as MSG is hidden so ubiquitously in all things remotely edible, to the degree that most foodees dont know when they are eating it. I only had a salad here, but the tomatoes and greens had flavour not attained through artificial chemistry. Service was friendly and quick. The chef came to the table and joked for a minute despite the fact the place was filling up fast. The decor was warm and quirky, there werent many items gluten free, but Ive grown accustomed to that in the Midwest. My wife also had a gargantuan salad that she enjoyed. Well be back.

Given the other high reviews, we might have been to the cafe on an off day. My girlfriend and I came for brunch and each had a coffee. I got the bacon skillet and she had the mushroom. We did not get a refill of our coffee until the waitress brought us some to go with our check. The potatoes in the skillets were beyond salty. With the mushroom skillet, we were expecting a mushroom flavored dish, however it wasnt and the sauce on it tasted of flour. We will give them another chance given the other glowing reviews, but our first experience was definitely subpar.

From the reviews it seem like the place to go but I now wish I havent gone. The service was extremely slow and it took awhile for my group of 6 to be seated. Once we placed our order we wait for an hour to get our food and constantly had to ask for refills. When the food finally came I would say it was average at best and some of it came out cold. Getting are bill was another "slow" process. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I wish we would have left like some of the other groups did.

I went for a date night with my boyfriend and it was great. He had the chicken cordon bleu (hes not vegan) and I had the vegan red curry. We both really liked our meals and the waitress was very helpful. When she learned that they were out of vegan pita bread to go with our hummus appetizer, she upgraded us to the deluxe hummus platter and gave me toasted wheat bread as a substitute at no extra cost! Great place to go if you want good food and theres something for everyone!

We really enjoyed our visit. The menu is a little more vegetarian than were used to, but trying to eat this way more. The chai tea was really good. I liked my SoBro grill pita wrap. My wife liked the SoBro Skillet but the goat cheese took her a while to get used to. The service (Cyrena) was very friendly and helpful. But seating very limited, so if you are coming from out of the area be aware you may have to wait for a seat.

To put it simply, this place has the best coffee in town. I cant think of anywhere that I would prefer to go. Also the facility is a lot a lot cleaner than the average Starbucks which is nice. The staff is friendly, prompt, and has better service than many other places I have been. There was a bit of a line when I was there and they actually brought the coffee out to my table which was unexpected. Great work Thu Br!

AMAZING BRUNCH!! They use good, fresh ingredients, make EVERYTHING in house. Were talking like they make their own maple syrup for your pancakes!! The staff is awesome, fun, super friendly and the atmosphere is very cute. We had 2 rounds of breakfast! Also, best coffee in town. Its our new Sunday brunch spot! Thanks for an awesome brunch!!

Such a great cafe- Unique sandwiches and dishes for all times of day. Had the salmon salad which was perfect, they recommended the lemon tahini dressing, and it was perfect. The best part was their Chai, they dont lie when they say its impeccable, and I consider myself a connoisseur. Cant wait to make it in and try them for brunch.
