Horrible experience! After explaining that this was our first time visiting the resturant we opted to get a beer brewed by the resturant, that the server recommended. it wasnt good and after only pouring a little less than a glass out of the pitcher we sent it back, the waiters never offered us another beer and just stated she would bring us water, the water was DISCUSTING, it tasted like lake water. After waiting over 40 minutes for our food our appatizer was brought out with our meal. (Mind you, this was a sunday evening around 6pm and the resturant was NOT busy at this time.) Then my husband pulled hair out of his mouth from his dinner, and after telling the server of this, her responce was "oh thats gross!" She never offered to replace the entree or take it off the bill. After emailing the general manager expressing our experience, he offered to replace our meal for us. I thanked him, but explained that we do not live locally and found the resturant on google on our way home from holiday. I requested a refund of ONLY the beer pitcher we did not drink and my husbands entree that he could not eat. The GM refused stating "company policy is they do not give refunds".

Very unprofessional service. We went there today in the late evening. When we got our food, I asked for a Guinness. The waitress informed us the restaurant would be closing in half an hour. So, about 25 minutes later, the waitress finally arrives with the can of beer, after weve all finished our food and as the restaurant is about to close. I explained to her Im not paying $5 to chug a beer by myself just before they kick us out. After we gave her our cards to pay, she felt it was appropriate to come to our table and rant to us about how we needed to be more understanding, because she was the only waitress there that night, etc. etc. Which is 1.) very obviously the fault of the management for running the place understaffed, 2.) ludicrous none the less, because the place was mostly empty, and she walked by our table several times empty-handed in those 25 minutes when all she had to do was grab it from the fridge and drop it off on one of those trips. I will not be returning if the staff at this restaurant believe professional service entails taking it out on the customers when they, the staff, provide bad service as a result of their own mismanagement.

Terrible food and terrible service. Last time I had experience this bad was years ago. Food was blend, not even enough salt, firget the spices. You can imagine the size of there entree as it comes in a small side plate or bread plate. An appetizer is generally bigger than that. Kabob has four pieces of meat with plain rice. Fish entree had burnt rice which had pieces hard like stones which the next person can hear cracking in your mouth. When I told the server about the rice, she did not even ask to change that. I left the entire food and was even charged for that. Left hungry with the worst day for lunch ever

i have been to the trojan horse a few times and i have never left unhappy. most of the time when i have gone it hasnt been too busy, so we were always able to get a seat quickly. the service is usually pretty good, but there have been a couple times where we felt a little abandoned by our server (when its extremely busy). the food here is great! i have always gotten their gyros and enjoy them, and they usually have a good selection of local beers on tap! all in all the trojan horse is a good experience and i would recommend it to anybody.

This is a bar. It is not a Greek restaurant! I ended up ordering their salmon and had the "greek" salad with it (I asked for the dressing on the side and didnt use it - they literally brought me a cup of dressing - ugh!). It took over half an hour for the salmon to finally arrive long after I had devoured the salad. While I was waiting I had multiple cups of coffee. The salmon was raw in the middle and the marinade unspectacular. I was too tired to have them take it back.

MY WIFE AND WENT HERE ON OUR DATE NIGHT, AND AFTERWARD WE WENT OUT TO EAT. The food is tasty, but they definitely skimp on the helpings; especially for the price. Over $8.00 for a small Gyro and thats it! I felt rushed by our waitress, rather than welcomed to stay and relax. People in Bloomington rant and rave about The Trojan Horse, but it is not all that impressive. We definitely wont be going again. I will be encouraging my friends not to waste their time and money here.

After reading some complimentary reviews, I had high hopes for Trojan Horse. We ordered carry-out, but although most of the food was pretty tasty, the portions were surprisingly small (and I dont believe in overly large portions). For 45 dollars (not including drinks), we expected more bang for the buck. All three of us were hungry half an hour later. Dont believe the hype -- this place is overrated for sure.

Worst Moussaka Ive ever eaten and Ive had lots of Moussaka, even a few in Greece. It was more like a pie with a hard crust, instead of bechmael sauce on top. Also, food hygiene seemed more like a suggestion than a practice there as salad prep involves grabbing food with bare hands, then grabbing utensils, jugs, switching on the service light etc without washing hands, ever! Avoid unless you want bad guts!

Been coming to the Trojan Horse since 1978. Eaten there 75 times. Always have had a good experience. Always get the gyros, mushrooms and coke. Last time gyros was cold. This time drove in from Indy and they struck out. Gyros pita wrap was hard and stale, mushrooms not hot, and coke flat. Manager did not care. Way to many options now in my old college town. Take it from me, ship the Horse.

For a place that makes such a big deal about being a Greek restaurant, they sure serve some small, boring, overpriced gyros. The falafel sandwich was also tiny and bland, with way too much turmeric in the mixture. The $5 basket of fries were fresh-cut, but again--the basket was half-full! The beer prices are no bargain, either. Every time Ive eaten here Ive left hungry.

Our family went a few evenings ago and had a wonderful time. The gyros were great. The warm pita bread is what really makes everything. I liked that we sat right next to a fish tank! Hummus and pita was regular but good- again with the warm pita. We also tried baklava ice cream and it was great. Service was friendly. A little dark inside but I would certainly go back.

I grew up in Bloomington and always loved the Trojan Horse. There is something "so Bloomington" about the Trojan Horse, aside from the excellent food and decor, the atmosphere takes me back to the 80s and 90s, when I was much younger, hanging with friends and courting my lovely wife of 20 years. Few places take me back to those wonderful days like the Trojan Horse.

If you are a fan of Greek food, youre unlikely to find any better in the state. The gyros are big and flavorful and the chilled-glass root beer makes the experience unforgettable. Even the decor of the restaurant makes it feel like youre eating inside a giant wooden warpiece. Also its right on the main square of town, a must go if youre shopping or going to a show
