First time ever coming and was pretty disappointed in are vist. We came in sat down was only three people running the hole place. It was three teenagers running an establishment which wouldnt be bad if they was able to manage it. The positives of this place: I have nothing bad to say about the female server she was professional and courteous, The building was old fashion and nice looking, the fries tasted fresh & good. Now for the neutral & negatives about are vist: we sat in a room that felt as if we was sitting in the freezer. it was so cold that after being in there for 30 minutes waiting for are food we decided to move to other side of the diner. we finally got are drinks we ordered which they had an issue with there co2 so no ones drinks in the place tasted right. I had a sprite which even after getting it corrected still didnt taste quit right so i switched to coke. Then are food finally started to come out which there was three of us & the place was quit packed but with them being short handed and not havent management there they wasnt able to keep up. My food was last to come out which i got the pound burger everything but onions,ketchup, mustard so i figured it would take little longer to cook. When i took bite of my burger i realized only thing on it was mayo, lettuce & tomatoes. I explained situation to waitress and asked for pickles and cheese which she brought me sliced pickles and a spear pickle. The food tasted plain/mediocre we all decided that it wouldnt be worth returning to eat the food again. It was just a serious of unfortunate events and the food wasnt anything special. In conclusion the place was clean enough i wouldnt come here if youre a "cleanly person" since ther server had to clean tables, take orders & bring out orders the place wasnt as clean as it could have been. The food was okay & the cook wasnt as organized or fast as he could have been. The a/c will freeze you out if you sit in the wrong location & the prices are high on certain food items. In no shape or form does my review reflect anyone elses vist or future visits this is solely are vist. If you wanna take the chance then check this place out by all means but just keep my review in mind.

I went in to place a to-go order. I gave it to the waitress and went and sat in a booth and waited..and waited..and waited..and waited. I began noticing that people who came in after me were already getting their meals served. Finally I had to stop the waitress and ask what happened to my to-go order. She said; "Oh..we forgot it." Then said she would tell the cook. Eventually she brought me my order but never even offered an apology for "forgetting" my order and making me waste my time waiting. I will never go back to this diner again! If there had been an apology offered it all would have been forgiven. But no -- no remorse. Thats bad business for a restaurant.

I absolutely used to love this place. The staff was friendly, always remembered us and our order. Then the manger/owner fired all the good staff or most of them quit because of him. We called in on our usual night, the manager answers and was so rude. He yelled at us for not having our order ready and hung up on us. Never have I ever been treated that way by a manager let alone the owner, not a way to do business. The food was terrible and not exactly what we asked for. Lets just say I will never be eating there again and nor should anyone else. Stay clear of the mess that is the Shelby Street Diner.

Joes is a small place with a traditional diner menu and 50s decor. It is big on TASTE and SERVICE. Everything is cooked to order on a grill where you can see it. Service was friendly and prompt. I recommend the Philly Steak sandwich. The BLT is excellent as well. A family of three came in right at closing time and neither the server nor the cook batted an eye. They were greeted just as warmly as we had been.

Food is good service is the wordt ive evver seen in a restraunt placed a togo order and half was missjng when we got home tried to call and get it straightened out would not answer the phone went up there at 8:15pm doors locked come to find out waitress wrote wrong order down had to go somewhere else to complete order for family. Not the way to do business will def talk to mgt- in the morning

I cannot emphasize enough that the food and service here are excellent, and I love the atmosphere. The staff is always friendly and prompt and the prices are reasonable and i love eating here. However, I have brought a few non-white friends here and suddenly the staffs behavior changes. Id really hate to be that person, but its really heartbreaking

Love, love their food and service Youre really get a lot of good for your money They guys usually get the big tenderloin and a big cheeseburger, then cut them in half and share Then most of the time they have 1/4 of each type of sandwich to eat later . Great mushrooms and onion rings as well Always pleased when we order from there

If I had to pick a last meal, their 57 Chevy(1lb hamburger) with Fries would be it! It is truly my favorite meal! I did their two 57 Chevy hamburgers and 2 lbs of french fries challenge a long time ago. My picture was up until new management took over, maybe someday I will try again to get my picture on their wall again!

Have been frequently going to this place for 30+ years. Huge portions and sensible pricing. The service is always great as well. I absolutely LOVE the old school Coca Cola/ decor. I recommend the Hubcap Tenderloin and Fries! Heard they may be selling this place. Please dont!

I have ate there during day, always happy with the food & service. But tonight poor service and the fish sandwich and order of onion rings looked like they belonged on a childs menu, and it cost $11.00 before taxes or tip. It may be awhile before I go back

I just moved to this area and have eaten there 3 times and 2 out of the 3 times I have been over chargedď. Seems the menu prices are different from the real prices charged! Very deceptive and desperate especially during breakfast hours ď

Unique and quaint. Definitely not in the Michelin guide. Disappointed in the fritter-like tenderloin but impressed with the generous burgers. Waitress was top-notch. Kitchen staff and cooking area was iffy but acceptable as a diner.

Came for breakfast and the French toast and bacon was delicious. Came back for the lunch special. The beef manhattan was awesome. Its a cute little 50s diner.
