Has potential, but kitchen / process kinks to address: We waited close to an hour for two daily special sandwiches, french toast and biscuits and gravy, and the restaurant wasnt full. It took at least 30 minutes before anyone came to apologize for the delay, and an additional 30 before we actually go our food, though we were told it should be very soon. They said the kitchen got behind and was under-staffed. Another issue was that the special sandwiches ordered were to have homemade sausage. When ours finally arrived they were bacon. We asked and the server just said oh yeah, they ran out. No one came to notify us about this in advance or ask if we would prefer anything different. They comped our drinks and gave a 15% discount, the food was decent, the staff was kind but disorganized. I doubt well return.

Initially I was impressed by the many options on the menu. I had the chicken and waffles and was pretty impressed. Since that day I have tried a lot more and not been very impressed. My wife doesnt branch out that often with meals so tried the grilled cheese. It was on Texas toast which is way too much bread and hardly enough cheese. She went about three bites in and gave up. I dont blame her...it wasnt very good at all. The beer and juice is not very good either. In the initial days of this opening, I think I got caught up in the hype, but they would have to make some serious changes to have me going back. Service was pretty good and far better than what I have experiences at Greenbush next door.

Tried to go to two other places but they were closed so ended up here. Reviews were so so but we had a great time and really enjoyed the food. Chicken and waffles was amazing. Crisp, hot & delicious. Benedict was pretty good but the Hollandaise tasted like it might have been made with mayonnaise. Had more of a cheese sauce consistency than a typical Hollandaise. Coffee was good and roasted right across the street. Service was also very good though we were mostly the only ones in there. Will become a place we go when were looking to get out of South Bend.

Unique diner with great hours, casual atmosphere, free wifi, order ahead take out, ... However, name is misleading...they dont have clean food options (like Louisas Cafe)...the kitchen manager makes a great coconut sugar smoothie, but its not on the menu...yet...bring us the green juice and well drink it up! A welcome addition to the hip Sawyer scene. Ask Vince for his fruit smoothie! Be careful...the ingredients are not on the menu, so ask. The gravy is spicy.

Good food. Menu has changed from last visit. The environment is better but still seems to not have an identity. Service was slow to come to the table. Food was fast from the kitchen and outstanding in flavor. All in all a good experience. We will be back.

"Seat yourself" nightmare. We were passed up for service several times, watching others who arrived after us receive drinks while we were still waiting for out menus. Food was decent.

My friend found a hair in his beer. Service was really slow and skiddish. The eggs were brown and tasteless. First time we went was pretty decent, but its seemed to go downhill.

My sister and I had coffee and breakfast, the food was amazing and the staff was super friendly and inviting. I loved the decor. We will definitely be back!

Not having eaten there yet it already seems like a better place based solely on the fact that the management posts responses to customer critiques .
