In a word: Nyce. Ill start with con, as I only have one: parking. It was crammed, so I guess it is a good con as they were busy. The pros go on for a while though. First thing that won me over, and always does, a beer/wine list. Its not hard to put one of these together and it makes my life so much easier than asking the server to relay a list he/she has relayed to hundreds if not thousands of patrons already. Plus, then I have to remember all of what they said. I started the evening with something lighter and got the Unibroue - Don de Dieu. It was, as I expected it to be, delicious. After my meal I had my desert in liquid form, a Founders - Breakfast Stout. The beer list was long and delightful. I had to take quite a few minutes glossing over it several times before I could make my choices. Now, the important part, the meal. We went with a Pizza Bianca, specifically the #13. - prosciutto | gorganzola | italian figs | cream balsamic glaze - I have never had figs on my pizza before, and boy am I glad I took the leap here. It was quite a lovely plethora of flavors on my palette. I couldnt stop eating this pizza. The crust is always one of my favorite parts of a pie and this one did not disappoint. Slyce is about 40min from my abode, and I will definitely return. Just next time, Ill make sure not to head out during rush hour.

Slyce coal fired pizza - Today was the sixth time we have tried to order form this fine establishment. For the sixth time I have been refused business. Most families today have both parents working or running our kids around to extra curricular activities and with more than one young child do not have the time or luxury to go out to eat. While you refuse to cater to families most business understand how busy families function and do what the can to help there client in there own back yard. Yes profit is not a swear word and that is why you are in business. However you do not run nor provide a neighborhood friendly family business. Imagine how many people will not get the chance to eat your food, verses how many you are turning away and turning off. How much money are you losing? We understand that you need people in your building to buy alcohol to bring up your revenue to cover your overhead. Take forever to make a pizza and crack people on drinks while they wait, great model. True customer service is in providing an amazing product and getting it to everyone you can..... Pro Athlete Retired, business owner, employee, father, husband, Philanthropist, and to damn busy to sit down and eat.

The coal fire goat cheese was very tasty, easily portioned enough for 3 people - we needed extra bread! The bread was really good. We also shared the more basic cheese and red sauce pizza (#1 on the menu.) The sauce was very bright and flavorful, with a pleasant hint of spice/bite to it! It was cooked in the classic coal fire manner, with the dough a great balance of crunchy and chewy. Our waitress was... lets say... well tempered, although us sharing food seemed to shorten her pleasantries towards us, if that makes sense. Quick to leave, long unhappy blank stares when we say we dont need anything else - its nothing major, but a waitress with a beyond-forced attitude makes the experience just a bit less comfortable.

Slyce serves the best pizza in Lake County. It is comparable to New York City pizza. The ingredients are fresh and there are many from which to select that will satisfy any palate. Additionally, there is a weekly Farmers Market Salad using fresh local ingredients. The service is always perfect even though the restaurant is usually packed with customers since it is the only restaurant of its kind in the area. It is no longer a well kept secret in my little town. I am fortunate that the restaurant is within walking distance because parking can be difficult, but it is well worth any minor inconvenience and valet parking is available. I love this gourmet pizza restaurant and give it a rating of 28.

Slyce has very tasty pizza. The dining experience is very nice and the selection is good. This is certainly a more intimate dining experience than most pizza places. A good place for dates and quiet meals. The staff is polite and dining area is relaxing. The only thing holding the dining experience back for me is the price and ease of dining. If either the price of the food came down or the portion sizes came up, I feel I would frequent more often. Limited accessibility, especially during peak dining times, makes visiting for a meal even more difficult. But the quality is there, no question. So if price and time are not a concern, absolutely worth having your meal there.

The staff is great and friendly. It always has a positive atmosphere and the pizza is amazing. Its a great place to take a date. I really like the server Kevin Carpentier because he always brings a positive attitude. My only complaint is how poorly they cut the pizza, consistently Ive come in and found it very difficult to grab a single slice of pizza off my plate due to the fact that it is not cut through all the way. I imagine that it is someone in the kitchen who does not take their job seriously.

I dont get the hype. over price pizza....with underwhelming flavor. Cool environment but $17 for a small pizza that didnt have much going on just isnt my style. MOD pizza is way better price for way better pizza. Honestly dont think Id come back not that it was a bad pizza or bad experience, but I can just get more for my money at another pizza place and in this day and age that is key! So go try it for yourself and then meet me at JJs twigs!

Fresh pizza, great beer selection, helpful staff! I went with roasted red pepper, goat cheese and arugula; not a combination Id ever tried before. It was so very good! My server gave me a tip for reheating my leftovers which was spot-on: just heat a skillet and put slyce in and cover for a couple minutes. Wow, the crust just went back to that fresh from the oven crunch, it was super! I cant wait to go back and try some more from the menu.

Great pizza. Pretty unique combinations with some classics mixed in there. Cooked perfectly, crust was tasty (not too dry and not too much of it). Im not a huge fan of sun-dried tomatoes or certain olives that overpower most other tastes, but they balanced the sizes and flavors well throughout the pizza. Also appreciated that they had some local Illinois brews on tap to drink. This is a great place to go for some amazing pizza.

We went later on a Friday evening (8-9pm) with 10 people and the place had cleared out a ton at that point (I heard it was slammed for the dinner rush), and they were able to accommodate our group comfortably. INCREDIBLE gourmet pizza and outstanding service to match. Among my favorites were the awesome bottle of Cab our server recommended and the #13 pizza - Prosciutto, figs, and a balsamic reduction. YUM!

Ive been here twice so far and I cant wait to go again. Their pizzas are delicious, and their appetizers were great as well (Loved their lemon chicken wings and goat cheese bread dip!). Conveniently, our party of five was able to get a seat right when we arrived for dinner, but I can assure you the food and service is worth the wait! :)
