BY FAR the best Chinese food in the Grayslake area. Its not even close. Im a native NYer and were really picky about our Chinese. Decor gets a ding because there is none - its pick-up only. No sit down. Would be even that much better if they delivered - but they dont - so you have to pick it up. But getting the other places to deliver awful food is a much worse alternative to having to go pick up very good Chinese from China Chef. If youre reading this, youve found your new go-to place in the Grayslake area.

Ordered the "orange beef." When I opened it up and started eating it, I couldnt tell if what I was eating was beef or (if they messed up my order) chicken. The meat had the texture of eating deep-fried globs of fat or ground up chicken guts. Very low quality, which explains why they give you a boat load for a low price. Also, I ordered egg rolls - which were fine - but they forgot to add any sweet and sour or soy sauce in the bag. Come on, this is standard stuff! Steer clear if you want a quality meal.

First, they tell me they dont take credit cards...THEN says hell make an exception. Then I get to the office and I have pork fried rice. Im a pescatarian, I asked for veg fried rice. They also forgot my eggroll. Also, the 10 year old working the counter has an attitude. SO DISAPPOINTED.

This is a family owned business. The food is very good. They do have tables to eat at but not fancy. If you want fancy go somewhere that is. If you want good Chinese food to take home this is your place.
