Very bad service. I visited this restaurant randomly to take away some food on the way to my visit Subaru dealer. I was looking for menu waiting at the entrance of the restaurant. Then I started hearing someone (may be manager) scolding one of his employee and also commenting badly about customer for asking more details of their order. I never faced such situations anytime here in US. I thought he is not aware of my presence in that area as I was sitting in the waiting area and checking menu. But then he came to me and started asking what I want .. I couldnt believe his attitude to customers. He just took my order with his arrogant attitude and said ok. Any way I started waiting my order and also immediately started writing this. I was very hungry so didnt try to go to other restaurant. . But definitely will not visit this restaurant again. Very very bad service. People should respect each other.

Visited this place yesterday for an early dinner/late lunch. The interiors and ambiance looked promising and increased our expectations. Well decorated interior and they have a good seating. Coming to food, we were very disappointed. We ordered dhahi balla and raj kachori. Dhahi balla was good and the yoghurt was yummy, the flour or poori was kind of hard and felt like it was not fresh. For entree, we took the shahi paneer, nalli ghost , mutton dum biriyani, missi roti , tandoori roti and butter naan. Paneer in the shahi paneer was very hard, curry tasted okay. Mutton curry was also not that great, could have passed it. naans other than missi roti was good. Mutton in dum biriyani was well cooked and it tasted good. Rice was a little hard though. Sweet lassi was very good. Im assuming it was just that day the food was not that great, hopefully might go back to try something else.

One of my lifes worst dining experience was with this restaurant. I simply fail to understand how this restaurant has a high rating. Ok, agreed that none of the Indian restaurants in America cater to tastes of authentic Indian taste buds but this one doesnt come anywhere close. I ordered chicken 65 and kadai chicken with some butter naan. Chicken 65 had more more cubes of onions cut in big chunks than chicken and hot sauce was just poured over it. We could hardly eat it.Next came chicken kadai and naan. Chicken was like chicken cooked in water and some random masalas just added to it.Naan was cold and flavorless. I wanted $55 for this mediocre food. Sevice was ok but my table was attended by 4-5 waiters at different times which I found a little weird. If you are expecting great quality food based on the ratings, you are sure to be disappointed.Avoid at all costs.

I went in Mantra restaurant a couple of days ago with my girlfriend. We had amazing time over there. I give 5 stars because: 1. The personnel were very nice, patient, fast and helping with your order. 2. The cuisine is amazing and very tasty 3. It is not expensive. We ate and tried a lot of different meals and the bill was only 32 $ I still have some leftovers in my fridge 2 days later. 4. The decoration inside is beautiful 5. The manager was very nice and caring. We ordered some extra things and he advised us not to order because we wont be able to eat all this food because the portions are very big, he cares about the customers satisfaction and not only to take money from us. When we were leaving he gave us the meal we wanted to order as gift to go. I definitely recommend this restaurant and I will come back to Mantra restaurant in future

Service not good at all! No one checks on you and had to wait a long time before the waiter would return and request for a naan. After a long wait and my food getting cold, I was told that it will take some more time. I would have ordered more items but because of the poor service, I didnt feel like doing so. The sad part is that it was not that busy either. Two waitresses sat on the front desk busy with their own work and when no one came to bring my check, I had to go to the front desk myself and no one apologized either. I would have given a tip but because of the service, I didnt. I will probably not return to this restaurant again. On the plus side, though, the food was not bad. My suggestion would be for them to really work on their service and it might make things a lot better. The decor of the place is fine too.

Our portions were huge! Split an order of Punjabi samosa and an order of shahi paneer with someone and we had to take home leftovers. To be fair, we were not starving when the meal began but still... hefty portions. The samosas were a nice starter with flaky crust and a spicy (but not too hot!) filling. The paneer was firmer than I am used to but delicious nonetheless and the sauce was creamy with a depth of flavor that kept us coming back for more. Not the best tamarind sauce Ive had (but still decent), but the tomato sauce was so flavorful and the mint sauce kept me pouring it over everything. Mantra has a gorgeous atmosphere, tasty food, and friendly staff-- Ill definitely think about coming back on my way to OHare!

Food was excellent. Quantity per entrée was small but the quality of the food makes up for it. This was our first time at the restaurant so we werent sure how big the portions were. Their staff on the other hand...needs work. The waiter seemed unfriendly and not pleasant to work with. Waiter was not interested in serving us. We found ourselves consistently looking for the server as our group was in need or additional food or drinks. Im sure the waiter doesnt define the entire staff at Mantra...but if you are a waiter, please consider having a positive attitude...your TIP depends on it, especially for a LARGE group. Large group = large tip. Good luck.

I went there for my birthday dinner with my husband. The place has a very nice decor. However there was nothing special about the food. Soup is horrible, absolutely no taste whatsoever. You might as well order bottle water or tea because the water they serve has a lot of chlorine in it. Entree was ok, we both ordered chicken dish with some rice. The desert was way too sweet, we ordered the rice pudding. way too much sugar!! staff needs more training and a better manager, very disorganized place. From the moment you walk in you can see the confusion in employees faces. I would not recommend this place.

We just had dinner on Christmas Day . Employees very bad . We went 1 hour ago before they close but at end we ask for 1 more butter naan they just say that kitchen was closed and employee was telling me that you guys should order before the kitchen close even though they dont come and tell us that that kitchen gonna be close you guys need anything? They should ask customers first ? I like the restaurant but employees not friendly. I never go their any more even though I love this restaurant. At last I just can tell that "Patel Family " never go their. Its just waste of time.

Very good decor. Food was good as well, but service was veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy slow. There are certain items such as naan/paratha should not take more than few minutes yet we waited for it for 30 mins. Multiple waiters taking orders for the same table and no communication among themselves. No communication with customers as well. No one came to check for water once as well as to check if anything else was needed. Anyhow, we may give them one more chance. Hopefully it will be different experience.
