Like everyone else who patronized this restaurant last night, we had the 50% off coupon. Thank heavens for that because we would have been pretty ticked off spending $8.99 plus tax for each of our mediocre Try 2 Combos. The place looked pretty cool with a lot of stainless steel and brand spanking new tables. However, the atmosphere reminded me of sitting in a Greyhound bus terminal. We were rushed through the line far too hastily to even have a chance to ask for substitutes. The tables were so close together that people going by bumped into me multiple times. Aggressive people shoved into me while I was trying to get napkins and lemon slices. To top it off, it was frigid cold inside and we ate in 10 minutes just to get the heck out of this unpleasant icebox. My sandwich literally had two super thin pieces of turkey, two pathetic spinach leaves, an anemic tomato, and something that kind of resembled pesto sauce. My Asian Citrus Chicken salad was better than my husbands Nuts About Berries which was truly pathetic. The most ridiculous thing were the puny under ripe strawberries dipped in literally the equivalent of one Nestles chocolate morsel. Who the heck would pay .99 cents for one of these! Its safe to say we wont be returning.

The food is amazing, worth every penny. However, the customer experience can be frustrating - Pros: Delicious food, lots of options. Very fresh. Cons: Each customer has to repeat their order a minimum of two times. Soups, salads and sandwiches are all prepared by different people and they dont have a ticket that follows your tray or order. 1) Order at the first person (salad). Salad person then shouts your order to the sandwich person if you also got a sandwich 2) Soup person asks if you need soup 3) Order-assembly person asks "what did you order" at least once, if not multiple times. And there is so much food at the end of the line, this results in some level of confusion each time I have eaten here 3 times: at 1pm, 1:30pm and 3pm It doesnt matter if the line is full or I am the only one, I am asked to repeat my order multiple times and it just seems unnecessary. Zupas, please make a better system! When I was the only person in line, there were 8 workers behind the counter and so many hands on a single order. I love your food, I will keep coming back. But please simplify the ordering process :)

We went to the new Schaumburg location. Good thing we had the 50% off coupon...the salads are good, especially the dressings. They use very soft leaf lettuce and do not give you one extra blade of lettuce than the required amount. If you ask for more the answer is NO. They move you through the line so you cant watch them put tiny amounts of add-ins and they shake out the extra if its over the tablespoon measure. If you ask for a little more the answer is NO. If you want to taste a soup they give you about 1/2 tsp...doesnt even cover your tongue. The to go cup for soup isnt even filled up!! Their rent is high so it is reflected in their food portions and prices. Their sandwiches are skimpy. I really dont see them lasting too long at this location, maybe the working lunch crowd will keep them open. The behind the counter staff is friendly until you ask for something! Wow. Plenty of other really great restaurants in the area to go to where something extra isnt a NO or an up charge. Bad way to start out for a new place!

First time at this restaurant and I did not even want to eat there. I knew it was kind of like a knock off Panera bread but a friend said she liked it and we went for lunch. The prices are way up there, I dont mind paying higher for food if the food is worth it. Only thing good they have are the natural iced teas for drinks. With every sandwhich they give you a free strawberry dipped in chocolate. After paying almost $15 for soup and sandwhich I wanted my strawberry replaced with one that was a normal size. The first one I got was super small and had barely no chocolate on it. The lady at the counter refused and even asked me if I wanted to pay for an extra one. Horrible customer service, they dont care to keep the customer happy even after I spent more than enough money on a soup and sandwhich. Never wanted to come to this "restaurant" in the first place and definitely will not be returning. Hate chains like this, get some real food and stop trying to rob people for their money!

I was referred by my neighbor to try the delicious food at Zupas. My neighbor had a 50% off coupon in the mail. She asked me if I had the coupon. I didnt but I thought I would go and try the food anyway. At Zupas I asked if they had any coupons my neighbor received a coupon but I didnt. They wouldnt honor any coupon. I asked for a sample of the soup. They gave me barely a half teaspoon. Not enough to even taste. I ended up ordering the Large soup. I noticed it was a little over half full so I ask if they would fill it. I paid for a full container. She said no its 2 scoops and that was it. The pulled pork sandwich and the red roasted pepper lobster soup was delicious. My experience could have been a lot better and they put a bad taste in my mouth. No referrals

If I could have given this restaurant 0 stars I would have. Its not because of the food - I never got a chance to try it. It is because the employees and manager Ashley could and would not let you order a sandwich the way you want it. Their kids menu only has 2 (chicken strips and grilled cheese) items on it. My kid wanted a turkey sandwich with cheese and lettuce on it. They told me there was "no way" to measure the ingredients. You can only order the sandwiches exactly the way they make them - no substitutions. Seriously, you cant take a little bit of lettuce and put in on some bread? When will restaurants realize that we want to order food the way that we like it - not the way that they want us to eat it!

Zupas is ok. At first it was great, the variety and the nice chocolate covered strawberry were a nice touch but the past few experiences were disappointing. They offer goat cheese for a soup and I love chicken pesto with goat cheese so I thought I could get it on my sandwich. When I asked they refused to do it, even at an additional charge. My experience working retail is to make the customer happy and findomg ways to accommodate requests, to I expect to be taken care of in return. I also dislike that all their soups, besides one is both vegetarian AND dairy free. The veggie sandwiches are disappointing and basic, nothing special. I may try again but it isnt my first choice.

Café Zupas has made a fan out of me. Their food, desserts and drink bar are all fantastic, but what I appreciate the most is the service. Ive returned to this restaurant several times and have never failed to be greeted with a friendly smiling face. During my most recent visit, I was treated very warmly by Valencia, who handled my inquiries and indecision with first-class grace and patience. This restaurant has an all-star staff and all-star menu that makes for a wonderful lunch experience. Thanks for being great among the good. Warm Regards, Smith
