Everything Ive had at Rex is delicious, carefully and beautifully made, with that authentic and correct balance of flavors that shows respect for tradition, these are the flavors of home -- perfected! My personal favorite is their Eggplant Sandwich, a sandwich that so many places get wrong. Rex understands what makes a great Eggplant Sammy -- theirs is one of the top versions of this classic Southern Italian sandwich that Ive ever had in my life. Calzones are fabulous, their sausage is homemade and amazing, subs and salads are generous, delicious and fresh! Try their cookies, too - so good with an espresso! A really great neighborhood gem - plus delivery during some hours?! Whats not to love?! Id give Rex 6 stars if I could! LUV!!!!

Rex offers a lovely variety of prepared Italian specialties. There are salads, meat dishes, pasta dishes and calzone/stromboli types. The exact varieties will vary by day, and there are usually sample available to try. The Brittney arancini is huge and filled with sauteed eggplant. You can also get sandwiches made to order. There are some ingredients, deli meats, cheeses, and frozen foods available for purchase.

WOW! Why did we wait so long to try this place? Out of this universe deliciousness. Any sandwich will do the trick. For a side mix half grilled octopus salad with half calamari salad. Rex Italian you are too good for me. Second visit in three days. Scratch made meat lasagna for Savs and I. Everything about this was perfect. From here til my deathbed I wont eat Italian anywhere else.

Rex is a great little gem in Chicago. When you walk in the door you are greeted with an incredible smell from the delicious dishes they are preparing. Step up to the counter and you can select from a wide variety of Italian salads and hot entrees like meat and veggie lasagna. They also make hot sandwiches and pizza. The cappuccino and cookies are not to be missed!!

Absolutely one of my favorite places, a must-stop whenever I get to Chicago. Small family store/restaurant, very casual, coffee shop atmosphere, but the large selection of hot and cold food is great Italian family dinner quality. Tell Anthony that Tony in California sent you. Im no shill here, just a former Chicagoan that loves to come home to this place.

I not always go here but when I do I always get good service specially from the guy that looks like guy fearrie. But today the owner looked straight at me and I smiled at her but she kept engaging in a conversation with another worker. I stood their for about 5 minutes.

Rex has uthentic italian food and its great. Whenever i get the chance i make sure to stop by and grab something to eat. If you are looking for good italian food you have to try Rex. It was also featured on food networks "Diners Drive-ins & dives".

THe food here is great and the prices are average. My only complaint is that the eating area is very small. The service could be a little better, but I would recommend for takeout. The food is definately some of the best in Norridge
