We visited the Bakers Square in La Grange, IL on our way home to Palos Heights, IL. My husband and I both ordered the Ultimate Meat Breakfast, one with eggs over easy, the other with eggs over hard, both with pancakes and decaf coffee. Sylvia, our waitress entered our order and said the decaf was brewing. In the meantime, the table next to us was seated, and their waitress brought them their decaf coffee right away, while we are still waiting for ours to brew, according to Sylvia. We then received our order, which is some Skillet Dish with both having eggs over easy, we informed Sylvia this is not what we ordered, she looked surprised and my husband said, he will eat his, but would like the eggs over hard, not easy. I start to eat my Skillet as well, but now realize there are mushrooms in the Skillet, which I do not like. Now Sylvia finally brings our coffee which has been brewing for 20 minutes or so. I tell Sylvia that I prefer to eat what I originally ordered which was the Ultimate Meat Breakfast with eggs over easy, and my husband asks for the same with eggs over hard, she takes away the Skillet dishes and orders us the breakfasts that we originally asked for. After drinking my first cup of coffee (never receiving the carafe) I notice there are a lot of grounds in the bottom of my cup and ask for a new cup, and a carafe of decaf coffee. Things are not going well for Sylvia today. We finished our meal and received our pies (it is Wednesday). Sylvia presents us with our check, we leave a cash tip. I charge the meal to my credit card with no tip charged on the card. As we walk out, behind us is the Manager (who by the way never came over to see what the problem was) asks the cashier if we left a tip on the card. I believe that Sylvia told the kitchen and the Manager that we ordered the Skillets Dishes and did not like them, when in reality she either picked up an incorrect order or ordered incorrectly. My suggestion for this location is that workers should be working their own area and not all over the restaurant. While we were seated for an hour or so, we noticed (3) different waitresses taking care of (3) different tables around us. No wonder mistakes happen, they are always hurried.

Im sorry, but no. This place has traditionally had mediocre food and horrible service. Ive lived in the greater La Grange area for decades, and I reluctantly go here with family (usually my senior citizen mother who is cheap and likes discounts and coupons instead of quality). The food has often been flavorless or served cold. The pies are hit or miss; sometimes they seem fresh, sometimes they seem like theyve been in the refrigerator for 3 days. The servers are usually teenagers who dont seem to have any training or simply dont care about waiting on tables. The managers seem like they are unhappy or just overworked. The bathrooms are gross; the public bathrooms in Union Station smell better and look cleaner. On a side note; there was a sign that was printed out and framed on the wall of this restaurant. It read: "We appricate your buisness." Of course, I was aware that it was meant to read "We appreciate your business." I pointed the misspellings out to one of the managers, and he said hed fix it. Long story short, that sign was up - in a frame - for YEARS. Its about the details, people. The little things add up. I was given a gift card to this place, and I literally gave it to someone else because I had no intention of going there.

Had a strawberry crepe that was cooked hard and put in a pool of strawberry sauce to get soggy. Had the Cornbeef hash the potatoes were burnt and the cornbeef was dry. The poached eggs were left on the water it was cooked in and busted when I tried to remove them from the water. The only reason I gave it one star is so I could write this review. I wish I could post the picture of this mess of food.

Best staff and service around. They even had Mince Meat pie during the holidays. Free slice of pie on Weds with purchase. Bottomless coffee and beverages Food is wholesome and de-O-lious. The waitress Maria is old-school and seasoned. She busts her butt even when they are short staffed on the weekend.

Maria is the BEST! I just sat down at 12:30 after a fasting blood test, and I was starving! Maria got my Strawberry Bleu Cheese salad and coffee to me in less than 4 minutes. Yummy and beautiful! She sold me on some pie and I have NO REGRETS! Yum. .....now I am full.

Good food but the service is pretty terrible. Its Tuesday night and my friends were all slirping their drinks because all of them were out. We got pretty loud and our waitress didnt come until much much later. She also seemed very rude. Her name is Victoria. She a thot.

This location is very very bad, will NOT make banana cream pies for holidays??? What kind of sick rule is that? Will not go there and will spread the word they are anti banana cream pies. And they call themselves a pie place, ha.

Moderately priced, mediocre food. Quick and polite service. Rundown decor. The pies Ive had there are too sweet and lack interesting flavor.
