When I go for Thai food, a buffet styled restaurant isnt usually near the top of my list. However when I recently was taken to Ruby of Siam by a coworker and was happily surprised with how much I enjoyed the food! Even with the lunch rush there was enough seating for four of us to be able to get comfortable right away. On top of that, even with being packed it was quiet enough that we could all hear one another without straining. Something that Im sure we can all attest to being difficult during the lunch rush in Chicago. We went up to the buffet and first up was wings, very small but tasty Crab Rangoon, and a soup. After that was a variety of meals to choose from finalizing in a small dessert area. While none of what was being offered was overly spicy as Ive come to experience with quite a few Thai dishes everything I tried was flavorful. A variety of good food at a decent price makes this well worth the money for a lunch outing with co-workers. Id highly recommend it and will most likely be back again.

Vegetarian review: This Thai restaurant serves vegetarian curries and vegetables without fish sauce. Apparently. The vegetable spring roll (not fried) had a distinct fishy flavor and smell to it. I left it after two bites. The basil stir-fry curry was average at best. I ordered spicy but I would say it was closer to a mild-medium level. The vegetable seemed to have excessive salty flavor, potentially through too much soy sauce.

The food is good but service is poor. After ordering my food for pick up I arrived 20 minutes later for the meal but upon my arrival they had not even started cooking it. Fine, not a huge deal. They admitted they screwed up but there was never an apology that followed and no attempt at service recovery. Likely to eat here again but doubtful I will recommend it to any Chicago visitors in the future.

really good, Ive eaten a lot of americanized Thai and this is absolutely one of the best, (maybe its authentic?). Tried many of their dishes and they are all delicious. pad thai is really good because it doesnt have that fake looking orange color and its not one giant glob. new favorite place in the loop, open when nothing else is on the weekend, good for dinner before going to the opera

Love the food, zero complaints there. Excellent veggie options, unique dishes like the lime tofu (or chicken) or coconut sticky rice. One problem: very long waits for dinner carry out. On weekdays, add 10 minutes to their estimate. On weekends, add 30 (i.e. For a Saturday 6:50 pick up for carry out, didnt get our food until after 7:20). Other location is much prompter.

I ordered Kang Keow Waan with chicken which was seasoned very well, however, the chicken was very dried out and the waitress never asked if I enjoyed or liked my meal. As I was leaving, she didnt ask if I wanted to take the remaining portion. Almost as if she knew it was dry. Overall I was disappointed with my experience.

Foods good! I asked for spring rolls and they gave me something that looked total opposite of a spring roll. I asked if they could substitute pork for more shrimp since they only give me three pieces of shrimp last time with my order and they told me no! They could only give me extra chicken because shrimp costs more

I enjoyed dining here, not very expensive by loop standards, just a little more than a avg lunch. I had pleanty to eat. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the food was delicious (I ordered Thai fried vegetable rice). I gave it a 4 because I have only eaten there once and did not want to bias a reader.

I have been very happy with this restaurant.I have not had the buffet but the dishes Ive had have been fresh, well prepared and great tasting.I am gluten intolerant so they had to avoid soy sauce, fish sauce, food or corn starch etc. They did it all and they have brown rice. There is parking in front.

I wish that there was a button that could embody by love for this restaurant that would transcend the normal "excellent" button above. The banana dumpling, was by far the best banana dumpling I have ever had. There was a medly of texture that was very mysterious, yet odly pleasing, to the palate.

I really like Siam Pastas Pad Woo Sen it is a very light and enjoyable noodle dish I also like Rama tofu and vegetable rolls, they take a while to deliver sometimes but if you dine in your food comes pretty quickly.

Gluten free Pad Thai was excellent. Very clean taste. Environment was warm and welcoming. My wife and I went home with leftovers for about $20. Happy lunch tomorrow!

Food gave me the runs for three days... Terrible service, inedible amount of vinegar in their "recommended" dish.
