Our dining group was fiercely divided. The "Come on, lets FINALLY try Beyond Thai" half of our team fortunately won this round. And fast forward to an hour later.... we left the restaurant unanimous! Were goin back! The restaurant was pretty empty, for a Friday night, but our server was quite nice and attentive. Seeing as our entrance WAS the dinner rush, she immediately muted the TV and put on a nice music mix (+1 point). The restaurant is neatly kept and softly lit, making for very pleasant atmosphere. We ordered four entrées and everyone was pleased with their dinner. All entrées could be ordered vegetarian (with tofu) and with spice to taste. I enjoyed the Spicy Basil w/Tofu (mild, of course), lightly sauced and generously portioned with red peppers and onions. We also had the same dish but with Chicken (Spicy Basil w/Chicken) which was equally good, but served with ground chicken (just fyi, because it doesnt note that on the menu, but you may order "sliced" or "ground"). The heaping portion of Pad See Ew with tofu arrived chock full of noodles, veggies, broccoli and tofu. The Pad Kee Mow with tofu was also delicious - piping hot with loads of fresh veggies. Everyone would have liked more fresh basil in their dishes, but then, we are admitted basil-o-holics. Overall, everyone was quite pleased with their dinners. BOTTOM LINE: We had some skeptics going in, but were a united front on the way out -- Beyond Thai is well worth going back to, or trying for your first time if you havent been there yet. Nice decor, charming staff, fast service, and delicious food. Whats not to like?!

Im originally from Minnesota and for whatever reason we have really AMAZING Thai food there. I have tried many, many Thai restaurants in downtown Chicago and the surrounding areas, Beyond Thai is the ONLY Authentic Thai restaurant that I have ever tasted in Illinois. Beyond Thai is the closet youre gonna get to actually being in Thailand. I love the lunch buffet, it is absolutely scrumptiously delicious. The price is great, the restaurant could use some updating but the food is just sooooo good here. Ive had the Tom kha (coconut curry soup), the pad thai, the pad kee mow, pad see ew, fried rice, spring rolls, pot stickers, cucumber salad, the mango w/ sticky rice. None of the food has ever disappointed me & I also must add that the portion sizes you get at Beyond Thai are HUGE. I have tried Tub Tim Thai & Ruby of Siam in Skokie and the portions are very small and have no flavor or they taste like the cook poured pure sugar into the dish. At Beyond Thai you can distinguish the different flavors of the ingredients put into each dish and really savor the flavors of Thailand... Beyond Thai is my Favorite Thai restaurant in the state of Illinois, it would be great to find a second and even a third restaurant as good as this one...

This restaurant is a little slice of Thailand in the middle of a worn out strip mall in a residential neighborhood of Skokie, but its pretty darn good. If you dont keep your eyes open, you may drive right by and miss this Asian jewel. The lunch buffet is WAAAY better than nearby Ruby of Siams, and $1.00 less at only $8.99 The flavors are fresh and authentic, and theres more selections than just a bunch of fried rice variations, such as different types of noodle and beef / chicken combinations, noodles and veggies, seafood, curries, soups, appetizers, desserts, etc. And the soup is superb. Two choices daily.No reheated miso is served here. Everything is made from scratch. Give Beyond Thai a shot if youre ever in the area. Youll be amazed at the quality, service, portions and price.

Weve been long-time customers of Beyond Thai. The food has always been consistently good, and it stands as our go-to Thai place in the area. It went through a management change a couple years ago, so they no longer serve sushi. Most everything else has remained unchanged, and a few things have been added to the menu. Im personally a fan of the roast duck curry and the house chicken wings.

the food was bad. everything is not fresh.and the size of the order are bad too. just ate lunch there and the lunch meal was a riff off because you order someone that is $9 and have the same serving as a $7.50 lunch and with more. the service was bad too. i will never recommend this restaurant to any of my friend.

Beyond Thai in Skokie was very good Thai / Asian food at a very reasonable price. Crab Rangoons, Chicken Satay, Spring Rolls, Curry Puffs, Soft-Shell Crab, Tom Yum, Tom Kha, Emerald Noodles, Catfish Basil Stir-Fry, Basil Fried Rice that our party ordered were all great!

We started coming to this place soon after it opened. We were glad to see a new Thai place in Skokie. We lived in Chicago so we are super picky on about our Thai. The pad Thai, panang curry are our favs. Delivery is almost always quick and food is hot and fresh.

Bad Service. Over cooked and under cooked food. Bad spring rolls. The coconut soup had a water down taste. Only thing that was good was the curry rice and it was over cooked.

After reading reviews I was expecting more. It was just an ok meal it was in no way a dining expirence. Combination fried rice and pork egg rolls were kind of bland.
