After reading reviews, its possible they have changed cooks. We ordered the matar aloo samosa, they were very big, the filling tasted ok but the samosa itself tasted bland and doughy. The Gobi aloo ko tarkari and thé jhaney ko Dal both had no flavour and the lentils tasted very dry. The Dal makhani which is usually both mine and my boyfriends favorite dish, was the worst we have ever had. The rice was bland too. We were recommended this place by a friend and after reading reviews it seems that they may have recently changed cooks as its gone downhill fast.

Im baffled by the rave reviews. The 3 dishes we ordered were individually the worst weve ever had - paneer pakora, mirchi pakora, and dal makhni. The pakora batters had 0 flavor and the dal had nothing but heat - no spice, no flavor. Ill probably try a different set of dishes the next time and update this review. Edit: Second try: Samosa was average and the chicken tikka masalas gravy was fine but the chicken was not good.

I went to Chicago to visit some family and was fiending some Indian food. My favorite dish is chicken vindaloo and Himshikars didnt disappoint. I eat a lot and this portion was enough to leave me in pain from being full, but that might have also been from the 4 orders of delicious naan.
