I went to this restaurant with a group. The food was OK, and everything else being equal, I would have given the restaurant three stars. The service was below average, however. Before dinner, several people at my table decided to split a large order of guacamole. I did not want to do that, so I asked the server for a side of guacamole, something that was explicitly listed on the menu. The server, rather rudely, told me I could not do that because others at my table had asked for a full order. I tried unsuccessfully to explain that I was not part of that full order, but didnt get anywhere. About 40 minutes later, the owner came by, and made a general apology to the table for the servers rudeness. By that time I was finished with my meal, and the apology did not really do much to lessen the discomfort I had felt for most of the meal after the servers rudeness.

This restaurant is both my Wifes as well as my kids favorite restaurant. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is very friendly. I go back and forth between my three favorites: The Talapia, The Skirt Steak and the Enchiladas with Mole. My wife has a thing for the Chili Rellenos and the kids think the chicken "nuggets" and desserts are out of this world. Aside from Walker Brothers for breakfast, this is the only restaurant that everyone agrees on.

Ive been coming here for years. Its the best Mexican food on the North Shore, maybe all of the Chicago area (I havent found a better place yet I just havent been to everyone in the Chicago area). Ive never had a bad meal nor has any one Ive been here with. The pumpkin tamales are great! Its reasonably priced too unlike other top Mexican restaurants.

Not many people can prepare Mexican food with real Mexican flavor but they can. Portions are not too big, not too small and things are priced reasonably. The service is very good.
