I come from a polish family and from a family that adores polish home made food. This place was horrible. The staff doesnt have any good customer service. My family and I went acouple days ago and the food was good but a day later me and my mom were both sick, food poisoned, couldnt even get up to go to work or to leave the house. We were both contantly running to the bathroom from vomiting. My father and brother were fine because they didnt eat the soup or the chicken that we did. Good choices in the buffet but just be careful with that your eating and expect to have to find extra utensils or drinks on your own. I never go on pages to see reviews unless I have a reason to. Im sorry for whoever commented before me about the same sickness review. I suggest going to restaurants in the Suburbs for home COOKED good polish food.

If you have a craving for polish food, this is the place. Carved ham & beef, authentic pierogies & potato dumplings, potato pancakes, golabki. The potato soup was perfect, clear broth with plenty of vegetables and bits of Kielbasa ChoppedSteak in Gravy was excellent as well. They also have some american dishes with a european touch, the fried chicken was excellent, as were the BBQ Ribs. For dessert they have an amazing assortment of european pastries, but make sure you dont miss the Cheese Blintezs. The only thing that I thought could have been better was the Kielbasa (Polish Sausage), for a city that has such a dominant Polish population, and is known for Polish Sausage, it tasted way to "johnsonville" for me....could have been much more authentic.

Very outdated decor. Best paczki however the wait on it redecilusly long . Why Cuz they only work on previous orders. If you not placing order for at least 200 you can wait for hours. Suggestion hire more staff who will only work on pre orders like other restaurant....alot of people walk out because refuse to wait I never ate there but honestly seeing the table set up, I dont want to even try. Why? Well when you see table set up and you see every coffee cup , plate its from different set. Only thing they in common they all white. Seating to close to each other. And I like my space dont like someone poking me with elbow while I am eating. Ceiling have visible water damage. Not cool.

OK, true that the bust boys and cook arent the happiest faces on earth, but they are hard working ppl and most of them are Polish, and a straight face is typical. The food, <3<3<3 , perfect. the soup is always the best, just like my grandma used to do it, while the rest of the food, Im picky so the chicken and fish is what i always eat and thy are great!! :D also, be aware of the lady who takes food to the buffet from the kitchen, if youll try to grab some while shes refilling the trays, shell slap your hand. HAHA:)) I was mad when she did it to me, but now i think its funny. Try it! its worth it!

Love this place. Feels like Poland but cleaner and friendlier. Wife and I can speak polish to the wonderful, friendly staff. We stopped in for some comfort food prior to flying out to Asia for a few weeks on vacation. We arrived about 30 minutes early but the staff let us sit down and relax and order some drinks while they finished setting up the buffet. The food is always first rate, lots of choice at the buffet and the Zywiec cold and refreshing. And when the paczki are fresh...OMG! So delicious. The price is far too low for the excellent value. Visit here, eat lots, enjoy.

The Best! Ive eaten there for twenty years. I now live in Colorado but, whenever Im passing through Chicago, I have to stop. As for service, they have a huge buffet that they keep filled. You cant see from one end to the other. Im not sure about how often they fill my water glass but I go there for the steam tables full of Polish food. As long as they keep those replenished I feel satisfied. It must be a good place because it is always full of Polish families, not tourists. I think that is their highest compliment.

Probably Chicagos worst Polish buffet. After not visiting since I was a child (over 30 years ago), I decided to stop by. I was very disappointed. Few selections on the buffet. Poor quality potato pierogi and that was the only option. Terrible potato pancakes. The rye bread was dried out. Lackluster roast chicken. No ham. The butter at the table tasted as if it was going rancid. Took forever to be offered a refill on my drink. I was there for lunch. Perhaps the dinner options are better.

THE FOOD EXCELLENT. THE PLACE- OLD STINKING DUMP !!!! They will not invest any money to refresh this place ! They cant even replace the broken glass in the entrance door for months !!.( I guess they are waiting for accident). Interior is old and dirty. First impression is this terrible smell of old place when you walk in. Nothing has been touched since the place was build !! If this is how the floor look like, I dont want to know what is in the kitchen !!!

Food was ok but didnt like seeing flies buzzing around in the dessert case feasting on it. :-( Atmosphere could be better. Kinda smells in there. Needs to be freshen up a bit! Decor makes one feels like youre in the Scare face gangster movie( the resturant scene where Al gets all shot up). The staff seems not happy to be there with their cold emotionless faces. Staff hardly greets you with a hello or welcome.

Seeing how the waiting staff acts towards customers getting food at the buffet, I am ashamed to call myself Polish. Shoving and not saying sorry and glaring. At one point I was trying to get back to my table and I had to get though some people, and a waitress started plowing through people the opposite way and said "Theyre standing in the way like goddamn cows". Well, miss. Youre a goddamn cow.

They were running a scam on Mothers day so negates decent experience there previously and they lost a regular customer. They quoted a $29 for the buffet and didnt say they automatically add tip for any size party. Its a buffet so the waitress only brings drinks, but they added tip of $20 for 3 people, realy rediculous and deceptive, wont come back, so enjoy the money in this economy.

Food is just decent, nothing special. Great paczki, that is true. Place is very outdated and it does have a smell to it. The staff is not to friendly unless you are a regular. They can use some younger waitresses and renovated the place. The food selection is not all that great either. The other Polish buffet down the street Joly Inn is cheaper and much better.
