I went to JuRin from a recommendation of a friend. He had referred me to several Sushi houses in the Aurora area. This was the third place I had tried, and the first place I go back to when I get the sushi craving. I have only sat at the sushi bar for dinner, so I cannot comment on how the rest of dinner service is, but the service I have received is always top-notch! The staff is always prompt and friendly. Only the last time I was there did I have to wait 5 minutes for a seat at the sushi bar (Friday night about 8pm) and the staff kept checking on me to ensure a seat would open soon and apologized for the wait. Our sushi chef (can’t remember his name) is always happy to see his guest and thanks everyone for coming. And then there is the food. Awesome! I have become a fan of the “caterpillar” roll and the eel sushi. Enjoy your small ginger salad and soup, along with a short bottle of hot sake and your meal is complete. Although the décor is a little outdated, don’t let this detract from the overall experience. JuRin is definitely worth keeping a secret.

Would rate this place as average among the hibachi places in the area. The location is rather small and pretty cramped, and it was ungodly hot. The salad and soup were good, the rice and vegetables average. However, I would definitely recommend the grilled calamari as one of your hibachi choices. Its the first time Ive seen that as a choice, and it was excellent. We alsp got a couple maki rolls, which were just ok. Service was a little slow, but we were told that they were much busier than usual for a Wednesday night. Ok, Ill buy it, the place was pretty much filled to capacity. All in all, the price was about right for what you get. We spent a little over half the amount we usually spend at the higher end hibachi places. I would definitely eat there again, hopefully on a less busy night. Would rate 3.5 stars if it would let me.

Jurin is the absolute best sushi and hibachi I have ever had. Without a doubt this restaurant is phenomenal. Whenever I have sushi or hibachi I compare it to here and I struggle to justify going to any other restaurant. I once visited them two nights in a row when I was back in town visiting. I ordered the same thing both nights and felt like I could go back the next and do it all over again. Be forewarned, Jurin will ruin all other hibachi and sushi places for you and they arent a national chain so sadly I cannot get them in my current location. I long to eat some of their sesame chicken...

Ignore the rest of the reviews.... Best place ever I dont think any place is ever the same after Ive been here. Let me rephrase that... no place compares to JuRin. Im not sure how not everyone gives it 5 stars, I would wait hours for their sushi. Everyone is really nice and we try to go every week. I tell every one of my clients to go there and try it also and they all love it and thank me for telling them to go. Try the Matt roll and Sandy even if you dont like sushi or fish, sooo gooooood all the flavors are so good together. Thanks JuRin <3 Angela and Jaydon

Its the best place in my opinion. Ive pretty much been to all the sushi restaurants (that I have herd of) in the fox valley area ad none compare to here. I always have a great experience, even when its busy. Both the owners are wonderful people. There is always one if not both there at any given time busting his ass to make sure the customer is satisfied. I cant see how some of these people have such bad experiences.. I dont know, maybe they just expect way to much..

This was the closest location when I first started going to Jurin. Its a bit smaller than the South Elgin location so it can fill up quick on the weekends. Ive never had anything less than a near perfect meal at all locations, the service, presentation, and the food of course. Ill usually get the filet and chicken, teriyaki style. Full of great flavor and served perfectly. The dinner combinations offer rather large portion sizes so be prepared.

I usually have a great experience with Jurin. However, today the vegetable tampura was spoiled, and the restaurant did not even offer to bring me a new portion. The waiter told me that I just did not understand the taste of the sweet potato, which it was not, and told me to not to order it the next time. The service was way below what I have been used to, and the quality of food could be rated as mediocre at best.

Thoroughly disappointed after they reviews were so good. I grew up in a Japanese household and when the soup comes out with American mushrooms that is my tipoff to Americanized Japanese food. Did not taste anything close to authentic Japanese and our cook was mildly boring... Even with three young boys at the table. Sushi was just okay...nothing special. Will be looking elsewhere or just cooking at home.

Ive been to a number of Japanese steak houses and this was the worst by far the chef had zero presentation ability, and the food was bland from the watered down soup to the dressing on the salad - the steak was tuff and it seemed that the only flavoring they used was soy sauce - wont go back again theres I guess theres a reason why theyre so affordably priced ( the only thing that can be said about them)

Most definitely not the place to visit when busy. After the food was cooked and put on our plates, not 5 mins later we were handed boxes to put our food in. They clear drinks even before they are gone not even asking if you are finished. Food was just okay. This is fast food habachi. Dont expect to actually sit and enjoy your meal. Other habachi places are much more entertaining, enjoyable and relaxing.

I love sushi and Jurin never fails to deliver. The hibachi experience is also excellent and I have not had a bad dinner. If you arrive with a group and are looking for a unique sushi experience, ask for a sushi boat. They come in different denominations depending on how much you want to spend, just make sure to give the sushi chef control over what he puts on the boat!! you wont be disappointed!!

Went for lunch a while back with a group of 8. Everyone received their order but me. Waiter was disorganized and absent when not taking orders or serving food. Didnt appear until everyone else was finished. Experience so bad i havent been back since. I like to be sure they will actually serve food when i go to a restaurant.

After living in downtown Chicago, NYC and Boston I can say that Jurin has the best sushi in the area, bar none. Hibachi experience is fun and the food is great for a reasonable price. We go there at least once a week. Love it!

Brought my 9 year old for birthday and this place had her smiling the whole time. Her friends loved it as well. Great food and even better staff. Always enjoyed the times Ive been here.
