Overrated and overpriced. I heard through friends that this place was supposed to be more authentic because it was run by Japanese- regardless of who runs it, almost every single specialty roll includes habanero, jalapeño, sriracha, cilantro, or some combination of the thereof. Definitely caters to beginners, and painfully so. Giant fans around a table disguised to look like its a low table? And a suit of samurai armor... Just no. Salmon skin roll BURNT. Also, tonkatsu doesnt come with rice, for $8.95!? Menu otherwise uninspired and bland.

The decorations and atmosphere are authentic. The servers even wear kimonos. The menu is pricey, but the food is amazing!! You get your own private chef serving you at a hibachi. Each of their chefs train for years and are very good at what they do and are also quite entertaining. They have some of the best sushi anywhere and an extensive array of saki. I would easily recommend this place to anyone for a special night out!

My favorite Hibachi restaurant by far. This place is great. My wife and I have gone here every year for anniversary (15 years) and we also take the kids here a few times throughout the year. Its our favorite restaurant. The food is great, the atmosphere is great, and its fun. My wife and I have gone to a lot of Hibachi places around the country, and we still have yet to find one where the food is as good as Nakashimas.

Excellent food hands down combined with fast service and a wide selection. I recommend this place to friends who want very fresh sushi & sashimi in the Fox Valley. People who complain about the price are used to value meals at fast food joints. This place has quality and you get your moneys worth. I have been here several times over the last several years and they have never let me down.

Great place to go. People are very friendly. The staff works hard to make sure you are satisfied. My kids loves going there. My son also likes the bad ideas the chef gives him on how to Crack an egg. I have gone threw many dozen eggs. Thanks for showing him many ways to Crack an egg. Good thing I like scrambled eggs. Very very nice place!!!

Sushi rolls are rolled pretty sloppy, and they dont have as much fish in them as other places in the area do for the same price. In my opinion, the sushi has gone dramatically down hill from years past. I go somewhat frequently due to family members who like the hibachi, but usually leave asking myself "why did I just spend my money here".

Ummm I honestly believe this place might be alittle over-rated. The food was alright...we tried the habachi grill and order the 50 dollars worth for 2. When you have a chef cooking right there for you, alot of the time the food is inconsistance. The menu could be a bit pricey if you have never been here before.

Disappointed with our chief, very quiet and not very entertaining. Our waitress was more concerned about taking care of table in front of us then she was us. Considering we were celebrating a birthday at our table was hoping they would have made it a little more exciting and entertaining.

First time in Appleton, heard wonders about the place. All well deserved. The place is quiet and nicely decorated. The waiter was very polite and friendly. I had nigiri and sashimi, everything tasted fresh and delightful. Hoping for more business in the area to come back soon.

First time ever here yesterday. Food was extremely good and the experience was awesome. For those of you complaining about the price-for the amount and quality of food you get here, its actually a good deal. I think some people are upset its not the McDonalds dollar menu.

Dirty dishes. Sent bowls/plates back because they were scummy, and one even had a piece of surf rice stuck to it. Sushi was excellent, but check your dishes well in the dimly lit room! Update: Third visit since then, dishes have been very clean every time after

Was greeted and seated promptly at Sushi Bar. Was given warm cloth at beginning of meal. Eddy the server was prompt and curteous. Orders Japanese Favorite. Taste was good and fished looked well preserved but seaweed wrap was rubbery. A decent experience.

Food is the best, cook works hard to pleases you and get your order right. There are many drinks to get from beer to wine to mix and out of this world. The only thing you need to watch for is if your party is 6 or more the TIP is already added on the bill.

One of two large local habachi places, Nakashimas is a great place for small groups and familys. If habachi isnt your game they also serve sushi in a cosy corner of the main room. I havent had a bad time. Expect to pay a little more then most places.

Delightful and authentic atmosphere and as always the best sushi ever. We had an issue with a piece of unagi but they were so quick to fix it and the manager himself came to apologise and make sure we were comfortable and happy. AMAZING service!!

Had a local work colleague bring me here for dinner. Had a bunch of beers and a table filled with a sushi feast that did not disappoint. I am still astonished I got sushi this good in central Wisconsin. Highly recommended.

There is a nice variety of sake on the menu. The server brings hot towels to wash your hands at the beginning of the meal which is a nice touch. The maki rolls were delicious. Our favorite was the Geishas kiss.

Slow take out, they say it will take an hour, it takes an hour and a half just to be told it will be a few more minutes... dont promise someone a time if you cant stick to that time frame.
