We usually have a good experience at Jurin however, this past week, our service was horrible. Our servers made us wait to order drinks and the owner/manager turned off the overhead lights to save $1 because our table was not full and they didnt want to serve just our family. So.... we got to sit in the dark with no drinks. Very low class. Finally, our chef came and decided to have a 30 min conversation in Spanish with two girls at the end of the table, all the while, burning our chicken and forgetting to cook our filet. We were finally given our filet 15 minutes AFTER we were done eating. Poor service! Im sorry, please dont sit and have a convo in Spanish and laugh and laugh - its very annoying and this is a job. Last, as we were leaving the restaurant, the lady at the hostess area just looked straight through us and was rude. What happened to the super friendly people that used to work at Jurin??? This will be our last visit.

I was pretty dissapointed with my service at this place. A drink I ordered was delivered to me only after a half hour of waiting for it and having to remind the waitress that I ordered it in the first place. Our chef was pretty good but members of the waitstaff were exceedingly rude towards us and even cussed at us in another language (my friends speak spanish.) One women in particular was nasty from the time we even sat down and towards the end of our visit, berated us for wanting to celebrate the my friends adoption day as his birthday, which we do every year and have done so without problem in the past from other, better resturants. As someone who has worked in food service in the past, I dont think this was at all an acceptable way to treat a customer. Ive never had to write a bad review before until now because this service was so bad. Will not be returning.

I hated the place. First, we asked for our own table when we called to make a reservation. We got there and they sat us at a table with a bunch of other people. We let them know we made a reservation for our own table, there were three tables for four empty (which is what we were wanting) but he said they were all taken, even though one was supposed to be taken by us. We put up with it though, it was annoying but tolerable I guess. Then we ordered and they came to make the food. I ordered shrimp, and asked the guy not to put lemon juice on it... Three times while he was making it he asked "no lemon?" And I said "no lemon" and shook my head no at the same time. Pretty clear instructions, he seemed to have understood... And then he squeezed half a lemon over six prices of shrimp. I will not return in the future or recommend to anyone else.

I would have to agree with Dave. My review is based on carry-out only. Ive over out twice, the last experience made me not want to carryout again. Not sure I want to even try dining in. When I called to place my order, person sounded really rushed like they didnt have time to me. It WB helpful if they listed the ingredients in their rolls so I wouldnt have to ask questions. I went to pick up my order 20 mins later n when I got there no one greeted me or even acknowledged me. After 10 mins a girl finally asked if I needed help. Told her I was here to pick up my order, 10 mins later I was still waiting. Finally I asked the sushi rolling person about my order. I paid n left. Got home n was not happy with the size of rolls, they were quite small compared to other places. I cant comment on the taste since I didnt try any of the rolls.

Terrible the last trip (poor wait time, wrong order), even worse this time. We had the same server who gave us lip about our entrée. Im allergic to shellfish. Took 14 minutes to get a water. Then we were celebrating our friends birthday (hes adopted, so we celebrate his adopted birthday), and she demanded his I.D. and then lectured us that it wasnt his birthday. She walked away, and talked crap about us to the other waiters ( I understand Spanish, so thanks for calling me a dumbass). Finally came back and nicely brought us the birthday dish, but before she could walk away, said to my friend, "You better leave me a tip". No. Im never coming to this location again. Absolutely rude.

I have had one bad experience after another at this restuarant. I have ordered take out multiple times and always left very unhappy. My order is normally not ready. I need to wait a very long time after I walk in to be greeted and my tipping point came when I questioned the size of my order and the guy told me real casually that they menu on the internet was wrong. That didnt help me out considering I had people waiting for me to bring home food and I had 2/3rds of what I thought I would have.

This is our favorite restaurant in the neighbourhood. Weve gone there several times for hibachi grill which is OK but the sushi bar is the thing to die for. They have really good selection and all of them are made to order, really fresh and tasty. They dont try to fill you up with rice like other places do. The owner is always smiling and treats us to some special roll pieces while we wait for our order. Highly recommended.

I was hesitant when I first walked in and saw a set-up similar to Sushi Station (which is not so great), but figured I was already there and Id try it. It was great! I stuck to the items on the conveyor, but the regular menu looked good too. All the items I had tasted fresh and there was a nice mix. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I wish I lived closer so I could come more often!

JuRin is excellent, the salmon is the best of any place Ive been, scallops are fantastic, been told steak is wonderful too. Kids love the chicken and the rice is to drool for. :) They are super friendly there and always go out of their way to make sure your experience is a good one! Go there for your birthday or holiday and they are so generous with gifts". Thank you JuRin, we love you!

I am Asian and my husband is American. First time that my husband tried sushi at Jurin. He felt in love with sushi here. We went to many sushi places around Chicago area and Jurin is the best ever!!!!!!!!!!! Sushi is amazing. It melt in your mouth. We went their many times in years and still maintain their quality. We definately reccommend Jurin to everyone!!!

Its the best place in my opinion. Ive pretty much been to all the sushi restaurants (that I have herd of) in the fox valley area ad none compare to here. I always have a great experience, even when its busy. Both the owners are wonderful people. There is always one if not both there at any given time busting his ass to make sure the customer is satisfied.
