Before describing my experience, with the service and food safety issues, I would like to discuss, how I was terminated from this company. November 12, 2012, I worked for Heartland Food Corporation as an Assistant Manager. Prior to working there, I was a General Manager for McDonalds. As everyone knows, McDonalds owns the industry, when it comes to speed of service and their values on QSC&V. Back to the matter at hand, Heartland terminated me for reporting food safety violations. I filed a complaint against this company and was told, " I was not eligible for rehire. Although they terminated me, " I like eating the food, but todays experience was the worst. When receiving my food, the Big Fish was cooked longer than required, which caused it to have a burning taste. After discovering this, " I requested a new fish. Once the new fish was brought to me, it had the same appearance as the other one, which told me their was an oil problem or the timers were set incorrectly. Besides the quality of the food, " the automated drink machine was not working. The General Manager was trying to fix a machine, during a rush, but I thought customers come first! The lack of speed of service, quality and value was obvious. It saddens me because I brought the QSC & V to this company, when I was working for them. If their managers did not understand Food Cost and how to maintain it, I could have helped. Its evident, that many upper level managers are insecure with their positions and will hire lower level management, with no experience, to have job security. This makes for a poorly ran company and profits are unlikely. Everyone knows, " sales maintain labor! Scheduling according to sales trends help the speed of service run proficiently! Here I am in Minnesota and I cant get a job, but the people that are working are Minnesotans and they have a lack of knowledge, when it comes to retail or restaurant management. Many of them are foreigners! This reminds me of the management issues Wal-Mart has! I dont blame the company as a whole, I blame the Minnesota greed!

I visited the Roosevelt Road Lombard store Tuesday, July 25 at lunchtime. I ordered the chicken parmesan meal. It was a wholly disappointing experience. The sandwich was smashed, like it was thrown away, recovered, and reheated in the microwave. It looked horrible. There were huge pieces of unmelted cheese, stacked on top of each other; not even spread evenly on the chicken. Even though it was heated in a microwave, the sandwich was not hot. To complete the experience, the fries were barely lukewarm. I usually enjoy having the crispy chicken sandwich but only if I ask for a fresh one to be made. It is so rare to get both the sandwich and the fries served hot. I may have to give up on BK for this occasional meal, much to my dismay.

I worked for Elk Grove store #03011 as a shift manager. I had an employee dry choking, throwing up and coughing in peoples food and having bloody stool. I could not get anyone to cover him and he wouldnt be safe working the line or drive thru at 9pm. My store manager and district manager would not answer their phones and my only option to prevent a viral outbreak through the food to our customers was to close the store. The district manager fired me the next day stating its no excuse to close and they lost money out of it. Im filing with osha and corporate since 80 dollars is worth more to them than the health and safety of the customers

store #21231 - terrible sandwiches. put together sloppy, incorrect toppings, been there 3 time and did not have 1 satisfactory meal. will never go to that restaurant again. I actually prefer BK over McDs, except at this location. newer store should have better product.
